We called Blackburn Davis to help install a smart toilet, upon arrival the two men stated they had never installed a toilet like that and did not like "fancy" toilets, they spent over an hour on the telephone (mostly on hold) with the manufacturer. I was eventually handed the phone to explain the issue and was told parts were missing. Granted missing parts were not Blackburns' fault and ultimately the toilet was sent back and replaced and we installed it personally (all handled by ourselves, not them). However, we were charged $220.00 for a phone call (I did most of the explaining). I called owner/manager and was told the charge was the charge and it did not matter if they did anything; the meer fact they were dispatched was the reasoning. I offered half the service charge as a consult/estimate a very average charge for other services but was told it was unacceptable. We will NEVER use them again and will not recommend them either.

In January, this company removed and reinstalled a toilet in our home. We noticed after they left that it rocked slightly. It was a low-level annoyance that I did not attempt to address until recently (September). I attempted to fix the problem myself. When I took off the plastic cap covering the floor bolt, I discovered the company used a round weld nut rather than the typical hex nut. I have never seen such a thing (had to Google what it was called). I called the company to ask how to tighten this type of nut. They acted as if they didn't understand the situation. I offered to FaceTime them or send a picture. Reluctantly, they allowed me to send a picture. After about 30 minutes, I called to see what they thought the solution was. They said they had no idea and would need to come out to reset the toilet. I asked them if they would charge me for the visit. They said yes. I asked them why. They said they had only a 30 day guarantee. I explained the issue arose well within that 30 day period, but I hadn't called because of COVID and it was a minor problem. That did not persuade them. I have used this company for years, but will not any longer. Disappointing.

BEWARE Blackburn-Davis hidden charges. I told them our ancient unit needs a new capacitor each year. Blackburn-Davis bill for 45 minutes = Material $44.55, 'TLX' $2.68, minimum one hour labor (NOT explained on invoice) $117.50, 'Truck charge' $20.00 (NOT explained) TOTAL $184.73. Also NOT on invoice "TRAVEL TIME." Apparently I'm paying their truck loan and his soda stop on the way to my house. His first words to me were "you need to get a bigger house number sign!"

The price quoted on the phone was correct, they showed up when promised and work was done quickly and efficiently. Plus, they cleaned up all the mess and hauled the old water heater away. We were very pleased with the work and professionalism of the crew.

3 years ago, I had a terrible experience with them. THere was the Miller Pipeline project, and they were basically robbing my entire street by finding "pinhole" leaks... however it would take them hours to find them (rather than just replace a pipe or two which would be cheaper)... they'd just sit outside smoking cigarettes, and charged myself and many neighbors I later found out for crazy amounts of time. I called to ask about the bill and was totally blown off by whoever was then in charge. Fast forward to 2015. I'd had a hard time finding a plumber. I decided maybe that pipeline was an anomaly and gave them another shot. The plumbers they sent were very nice. I really enjoyed the two i had onsite at my house. That is why the review is as high as it is. However, my contract clearly stated that any additional charges would be "given in writing" before any further action would continue. Not only was I not verbally apprised of additional charges, I had no idea at all until i got a lovely bill in the mail (who does that anymore anyway??) saying I owed 500-800 more for some things they had done. I called to talk to the owner or sales rep, and they basically just argued with me. I got off the phone and was like what just happened. I am not sure how this guy learned how to be both dismissive and convince people that he is right, but i have a legal binding contract that states they shouldn't be sending bills for this. As much as I liked the plumbers, I still had to call for small errors after the fact that they had made. I understand they are human so I wasn't even upset about that, and the office was pleasant, and great about getting those things done over. It's just the owner that really has no interest in keeping/pleasing customers.

We have used this company many times in the past and I assumed our experience this time would be as satisfactory. While the quality of the plumbing was more than satisfactory, I was concerned when the bill arrived and it showed a charge of $ 280 for the disposal and labor charges for the hour visit of $ 161. Since I note that retail for the disposal is about $100 at big box stores around town (and this was almost triple that) and the labor charges seemed excessive as well I decided to check in here and noted some of the negative reviews this company received about that very issue. I naively expected that the charges would be reasonable and trusted that when the bill arrived that would be the case but that is not what occurred. And then when I saw the lack of responsiveness of management to other customers' concerns I did not think approaching them with my concerns would be worth doing. Sure enough, though I expressed all this in a letter to them with my payment in full about 2 weeks ago, I have received no communication from them. It appears that they don't really care about maintaining loyal customers in their base, rather they are content with what appears to be charging excessively for services and not concerned about feedback.. It is regrettable because their plumbing expertise is first rate, but not their customer relations. Too bad. Future customers would be advised to get a good estimate from them BEFORE the job is done. I wished I had.

Terrible. They took about 8 hours total with two trips for a very simple plumbing job. If I had the time i could have done it in less time. Cost was a whopping $743!! I called and talked to one of the owners, Joe, and got a so what. It was a total and complete rip off. Never again.

Overall very well: Communication was very good, if they were late they'd tell me. Very neat, cleaned up after themselves well. They are cash only, which is a bit of a hassle, and I felt they were a bit pricey on some things. I had some concerns with the radiator installation, and they addressed them promptly. They wanted me to be satisfied.

The price seemed to be very out of line for the short time he was there approx. 30 - 45 minutes I don't believe the igniter cost has gone up that much.I have done business with this company for approx. 15 years and have generally been satisfied with their service.I called their office after receiving the invoice and explained my dissatisfaction with the price. Their office manager said she would talk with the owner ( manager) & get back with me. I waited a week &never got a call! Called again & asked to speak to owner again & was told by the same person he was busy but would get back with me! Waited a couple days later & was told this time that he said that was the correct price & they would not be able to do anything about it. I then informed her he could have at least had the courteousness to discuss the problem with a good customer! I will not be doing business with them any longer. Their shop is approx. one mile from job site.

They generally do good work. I would rate them highly. Their pricing is line with other companies in the area. They are prompt to respond and easy to contact. Everything is positive. They provide good service and are courteous. They clean up after themselves. There is nothing negative. I have used them for about 25 years. I have had uniformly good results. I have been real happy with them.

I had gotten estimates on the pipe replaced and they were almost twice what these fellows charged and the results were great! They were also very professional and did a fantastic job on our remodeling.

40% of the work required them to return and redo. They were fairly punctual and friendly, but not technically skilled or professional. The company was a sub-contractor so not sure of price.

These guys were very professional and honest. We have used them for years for A/C repair and maintenance and have always been very happy with them. They told us where the problem was, showed us photos of the area, and fixed it on short notice and foe a very fair price.
