During installation one of the installers foot slipped off ceiling joist and punched a hole in the ceiling of my Master Bedroom closet. The lead installer called in the incident and reported the issue and told me that his manager would be calling me with arrangements to have the ceiling repaired. I had to call the office after two days when I failed to get a call. They returned my call & sent one of their staff who lived locally to a**** the ceiling for what needed to be done to make the repair. This individual determined that he could repair the ceiling since he was also a licensed contractor. He made about 4 different trips to my house to put up drywall. Tape, mud & sand ceiling. After the last trip he made I discovered I had 7 rings from my jewelry box missing. The RCI rep. Was the only individual that had been in the area my jewelry box was. I have no proof that he took the jewelry, but he never returned to finish painting the ceiling. I filed a police report & called RCI to report the incident. They called me back to tell me that the Rep no longer worked for them and they would send a drywall professional to complete the ceiling. They sent the drywall man and he finished the job and he did a good job. I have been very pleased with the insulation product and its performance since the installation. My dissatisfaction has resulted with their handling of the theft that occurred during the ceiling repair and the fact that I have never received the warranty and energy savings guarantee that I was supposed to get. I have called numerous times and only get an answering machine & have left several messages that they don't return. The one call that I did get was to set up an appointment with the owner Mr Begley to come and see the repair job and review my police report. He never kept the appointment nor called to cancel or reschedule. My installation was Sept. 25th. and I still have never received my warranty or energy savings certificate, or any discussion regarding my theft despite being told that they were bonded. So in my opinion I think the product is a good product, but I would not trust them to follow through if any problems that may occur during an installation.

Workers arrived on time (actually a little early) and immediately got to work. They were helpful to me in that I wanted to run an electric wire before they installed the insulation. They helped locate the holes I was drilling from below and route it into the wall so that I could make the correct connections below. They did all the work as promised and were courteous in all our interactions. In general I have no complaints about the work. The ratings were a little difficult because it is too early to know if the promised energy savings will materialize. The price seems a bit steep but if the savings are real the service will pay for itself in a few years. Responsiveness was rated less than the highest because they first told me they would be here on a specific date and then did not show up. Then a second representative came to the house and seemed to know nothing about the first appointment. Having set a new appointment everything went as scheduled- the visit, the contract and the installation. However I was to receive two water-saving showerheads and these were not delivered and when I advised our salesperson of that he did promise to deliver them but they have never made it here. Most confusingly, I received a call from their office about a month later apologizing for missing the first appointment and attempting to set up another one to evaluate our house for their services. They seemed to have no idea that everything had been contracted, paid and installed.

Description of Work: The company must have been going door to door in the neighborhood. They claim the insulation will save money in the long run. Have yet to see any saving in my energy bill.

We got off to a rough start. I had several complaints ranging from not following up with caulking, not answering the phone, no return calls after leaving messages, and questioning the installation, and not paying us for a referral. We finally got a return call. They were very apologetic. They had been in the process of moving their office from Nicholasville Rd. to a bigger facility on Commercial Dr. Someone arrived promptly to do the caulking and delivered a check for the referral. They agreed that the installation was done improperly and sent a different crew to completely redo the job. The crew that did the work in our attic, i am told, no longer works for RCI. I have to say that RCI has certainly gone to a lot of trouble to make us happy customers. Now the question is whether the material can significantly reduce our gas an electric usage. When I know, I will do a follow-up report.
