I was referred by a friend. They responded quickly with a reasonable quote and availability. I was updated as to scheduling. They showed up on time and the crew was polite and they cleaned up after themselves.

The crew came out and busted this job out. It was a specialized repair on a very unique shaped pool. They were quick and left no mess. Will work with them again.

We were so happy when we finally found Tim. We had so many companies out that did not want to touch our very old concrete pool that needed repairs and resurfacing. He gave us a super reasonable price compared to the others and his workmanship was great. Communication was pretty good and they had to work around the weather because we had it done very early in the year. He sandblasted, repaired, resurfaced, and found a nice solution for the uneven ends of the pool. We are extremely happy with the finished product.

Is there a NO star option? Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this guy. Tim sounds very knowledgeable, but his finished product is much less than expected. We contracted Tim to tile and replaster our gunite pool. Like others have said, the only thing you can count on is for him to show up for his checks. We experienced numerous delays, subcontractors with little to no supervision, and a finished job with jets not working, stress cracks in the plaster, and uneven discolored plaster and unfortunately a leak that he claims no responsibility. Tim's response to all of this is "I just wanted a free water leak test out of him". I am now faced with additional repairs to fix my pool at my additional cost. Don't let this guy take your time and money!

Excellent work done!! He did our pool from start to finish and i liked how he would always keep us in the loop on the steps. I highly recommend this company if you need affordable services and excellent work. If Tim shows up for work he means work he will knock out a lot in a day , very hardworking!!

I had to ask them to leave my property, in shambles no less. Everything was good until the concrete was poured. He subcontracted to a group of people who do work for the state, not swimming pools! It is uneven, slopes toward to pool and is already cracking! I have since had 4 pool companies out to get estimates to correct the horrible job I am left with. All of them said it is the worst pool install they have ever seen. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit as the quality of workmanship is horrible. In addition to the concrete being poured wrong, the other companies that have come out have shown me where the pool isn't set squarely, the steps aren't set right, the cuddle cove is crooked. It's offset by almost 6 inches. The pool floor is crumbling and will need to be dug out as well. Last, the coping around the pool is jagged, not smooth at all! All around a horrible experience! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Excellent they came the same day I called showed up a little early was very thorough and courteous. Highly recommend them.

They were almost 2 hours late said could fix liner and it failed had to order new liner and when i got it they were gonna put in but almost no comication took my money and didnt finish job....very disappointed

Tim did a great job- my pool looks better than ever. He was responsive to emails and calls, did the work in a timely manner and was easy to talk through concerns in a professional manner. He works hard and wants his work to reflect that. I found his costs to be reasonable as well. I highly recommend Perkins Pools by Tim.

We love our refurbished pool! Tim and his crew were excellent, always showed up when scheduled and worked hard to get the job done with excellence. He repaired our pool heater after an earlier pool guy said it was not repairable. He did all this at a price that was about 20% less than his competitors. Tim Perkins is our go to pool guy from now on!

Tim is my go to guy for the opening and closing of my pool every year. Both him and his team are so professional and customer oriented. They really care about providing the best service whether it’s clearing out leaves from the pool or walking to the shed for the winter cover. He drives a bit to get to me and never complains. I appreciate you Tim and team. I’ll see you in April!

Very well, and in a short amount of time! I couldn’t believe how clean and clear it was when they were done, because it was totally disgusting before.

My experience with Tim Perkins started in June 2018. My inground gunite pool needed to be completely refurbished with new plaster, tile and coping. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but during contract signing at my house he took a call from a customer, which turned into a heated discussion. After the call he explained about how some customers are never happy…I should have taken that as a warning sign. The work started by emptying the pool. He duct taped sections of plastic pool hose together to make it around the house and down the driveway. Sometime after he left the job site for the night the duct tape gave way and flooded my neighbors yard. I notified Tim, but he didn’t acknowledge the issue and left it to me to apologize to my neighbor. Cracks were found in the structure so he said he wanted to bring in an expert to fix. I paid the expert, who was at the house for 20 minutes. Turns out he was just a consultant who told Tim what to do and then he left. I paid a lot of money for a 20 minute consult. During the project I kept noticing other leaks and found that they were going through my garage and helping themselves to my hand tools. I emailed my concerns to Tim and that’s when he got upset. He threatened to abandon the job if I didn’t get a better attitude. I had so much money tied up with him already, that I swallowed my pride and literally had to beg him to return. They finished the job, but the new concrete pool coping was full of air bubbles, uneven and the job site was left a mess. He promised to come back to power wash the dust they left on the patio, but that never happened. I didn’t write a review at the time because I knew if I was honest, I’d never get any warranty service. Fast forward a year later and I had a significant water leak in one of the underground supply lines for the pool. I was in the middle of getting a new concrete patio poured and the contractors couldn’t finish until I fixed the leak. I called every other pool contractor in Cincinnati and they were all booked for at least 2 months. I was under pressure from my concrete contractor, so I unfortunately reached out to Tim Perkins once again. Against my better judgement I reluctantly hired him again to re-pipe the pool because he was able to get the job done quick and keep my concrete contractor on-track. He finished the work, which required drilling through the pool wall to enlarge the size of the return jets. They had to pack new plaster around the hole, which looked messy and didn’t match up well with the original plaster. He also added new return jet eyeball fittings. It’s now Fall of 2019 and I need to close the pool. I tried to remove the eyeball fittings, but they are covered with plaster, which has them cemented/glued into place. I tried using a channel wrench, but I think they need to be chiseled out of the plaster. On October 15, 2019 I reached out to Tim and included a picture to explain the issue. He responded to my email stating: “Big piece turns it has a Male fitting into your pic inch and a half jets.p plastic out big ring to cover imperfections”. It was hard to decipher what he was saying, but as I couldn’t get the cover to turn, I wrote back explaining I needed help and wanted him to close the pool for me at a cost as it was getting late in the year and the weather was changing. He didn’t respond so I Thursday I sent a follow up email asking for his help and availability. Again I had no response so finally out of extreme frustration, I emailed him on Saturday to tell him I was taking legal action. He not only emailed me that same day, but he also called. It was now my turn to be the customer on the other end of the phone just like when I signed the original contract to refurb the pool. He told me that I never wrote him a review, so why should he jump through hoops for me. He went on to say that he’d never pay me and wanted me to grovel up to him to fix the work he messed up. At this point it was unrecoverable so I told him I’d find a real contractor to do the job right. He hung up the phone on me. As a final chapter to my experience with Perkins Pools, I wanted to finally leave the review he deserved over a year ago. I’ve read his online attacks to people who wrote bad reviews for him, so I’m sure he will repeat. As for me, I’ll never let him touch my pool again.

Paid over 300 for really nothing other than advise.

Tim was great to work with! We have a very old, specially created pool which is very difficult to work with. He was very honest and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. Very responsive, punctual, and hardworking. 10/10 would hire again.

When we opened our pool last spring, the pool pump was incredibly loud. Because it was spring pool opening season, my usual pool service company couldn't get to us for a couple of weeks, and I didn't want to use the pump - it was too loud to subject my neighbors to that. I found Perkins Pools on Angie's List, and Tim was able to come out the same day. He said it needed to be replaced. He wanted cash in advance to buy the replacement pump, which i thought was odd but I figured his business was new, cash flow is tough, etc.....I paid him, they did return with the pump and installed it. All seemed fine. He was very pleasant to work with. But this year, I had the exact same problem at pool opening, despite having a pump that wasn't even a year old. I called Tim, he answered, and after I filed him in on the problem, he said that was odd, he needed to call someone to ask about this (i thought he meant the pump company since it was less than a year later so under warranty). He said he'd call them and call me right back. He never called back. After a few hours i tried to reach him. And a few times the next day - he would no longer answer my calls! I found his company page on Facebook and sent him a message that way, but again no response. I contacted my old usual pool service company, they came out and said it was probably installed incorrectly and needed total replacement. I knew this was going to be expensive, since I'd just gone through it the year before. But the other pool company charged a little more than half of what Tim charged! So he overcharged me by almost double, did shoddy work, and then was ridiculously unprofessional and unresponsive when I called him about the problem.

Worst experience ever. I was robbed by these guys. Tim Perkins has no experience but brings along a buddy who does. He didn't even have a pressure tester with him, instead got parts at Home Depot and rigged one on site. He blew the brand new plug for the new pump, thank god he didn't blow the pump up. He had the audacity to try and come back and do more work, but luckily I found someone else to do the job correctly and told me how badly I was fooled by this guy.
