It went great. James personally quoted us the work and his price and quality of work was better than two other bids we had gotten. James did the job himself and we are very happy with the finished product.

Response from Even Flow Remodeling and Repair
We appreciate you business and the referrals you have given since.
Description of Work: *Bathroom: install new floor, new fan, new toilet, iand new shower rod *Kitchen: install new floor, remove old fan, repair countertop Basement: repair concrete laundry sinks *Electrical: various repairs and updates both inside and outside the house Garage: patch hole in ceiling Office: repair and paint ceiling. Attic: remove and replace some old insulation Miscellaneous: minor patching and new floor molding
The result was as we required and expected. Even Flow stripped then painted the walls, updated the sink outlet (installed an additional outlet too), installed a new disposal, installed new granite counter top and island top and microwave shelf, installed a lighted exhaust fan above the stove top, laid down a new ceramic tile floor, covered the old and cracked ceramic wall tile wit Wainscot, painted the ceiling, rotated our oven 90 degrees and ran a new gas line. All this was done while keeping the mess to a minimum, and while also ensuring we had use of the kitchen at day's end, every day. Even Flow worked with material contractors to help ensure we had quality products to choose from. I must mention the extra mile Even Flow went to in making sure our electrical issues were properly addressed. Ours is an older home, and it needed the extra care Even Flow provided, including correcting installation work by a prior contractor. Even Flow did our bathroom prior to doing our kitchen. I can see the same quality workmanship in both jobs. A big thing is the end-of-day clean up of the work site. We were very glad and appreciative for it. Another big thing is the on-time start of each work day. The job was professionally thought out, and qualitatively rendered. It also was personable and competitively priced. Communication was excellent. I highly recommend Even Flow Remodeling, and I intend to contact it again for another job we are considering having done; our basement.
Description of Work: We needed a refresh of our kitchen.
Description of Work: Kitchen refresh (new floor and wall treatments, updated electric service, install new counter top and island top, oven vent, disposal)
They did an excellent job being on time, following through on what they said they were going to do, and making sure we understood every part of the process.
Description of Work: Even Flow did an awesome job getting our house back to normal after our dishwasher flooded. We needed drywall repair, new carpet padding installed, paint, all new kitchen cabinets installed, and a whole new kitchen floor.

Description of Work: They did a great Job. I was a bit hesitant at first as James the owner convinced us to go with a granite countertop for the kitchen when we wanted laminate. However, the installers did a super job and it looks amazing when it was done. James even came back to finish the job when some caulking wasn't done correctly. Would recommend them highly!

As usual James and his dad were great. They did their best to rearrange jobs to start on mine right away since I had waste water running down my walls. He did the job that he was hired to do and then worked with me when we wanted to alter the scope partway through to add a washer/dryer closet upstairs. I'm comfortable with him in my home around my dog and kids and trust his judgement.
Description of Work: Our pipe into the basement cracked and started leaking water. The pipes went through the kitchen up to the second floor bathroom so floors, walls and ceilings had to be torn up to replace the pipes. He also added the parts to turn the 2nd floor closet into a washer/dryer closet.

Met with and got bids from 5 different contractors to remodel two bathrooms. Hired Even Flow to do the job based on previous jobs and Angies' reviews. Checked his references and all prior jobs said he was great. Work was to start June 29th but due to a family situation, we had to move the job back one day. Job was quoted for 3.5 - 4 weeks and we were going to have 2 weeks in between the two jobs due to vacation he had planned. Due to health issues (James) we did not get his best work. Due to health issues and having to redo work in the hall bathroom, the entire job took 5 weeks. Reasons we will not rehire: 1. Lack of attention to detail -- supply line on toilet leaked, faucet in shower was not put on correctly (not able to turn the faucet which necessitated calling to have him come fix it), p-trap under the tub was not screwed on correctly, shower head in hall bathroom leaked due to not using plumber's tape, drain in tub was not holding water and was informed it would always slowly leak water. Grout has had to be redone due to "shrinking" grout and there are still multiple places with grout not filled in correctly. a) Brought his dad in to help on both jobs. When they returned to do master bathroom, his dad took the drain apart and found it to be defective. It was replaced and the tub now holds water. 2. Poor organization / planning -- in redoing the hall bathroom we were going to put in a 48 inch vanity with a 60 inch counter top and have space to hide the hamper, etc. He did not inform us until the day before installation of the vanity that the slab would have to be cut down as we did not have a 60 inch area. a) Original vanity was not bought when information was provided due to not having space in our garage to place it because all the old fixtures and debris was in the garage. So when it was ready for installation, it was no longer in stock and we scrambled to find a vanity to finish the bathroom. b) Part of the lack of organization on the first bathroom was due to our ignorance of the process and knowing when to have items picked out and available. We hired Even Flow the week before we went on vacation and when we returned we started on the bathroom. Therefore we did not have much time to figure out the fixtures, vanity, etc. c) Used measurement of vanity in master bathroom to find new vanity. When it was being installed it stuck out 1 inch past the door jam which means we would have been walking into it most of the time. James was going to simply leave the vanity as it was or offered to trim the vanity and countertop down. This necessitated us in going to lowe's that night to find another vanity. . I realize all of the above issues were small in scope and more annoying than anything else. When we called James he responded right away and fixed the issues. Our contract does not state anything about an upcharge on materials. We did not have an "upcharge" on materials on the hall bathroom due to being over budget on materials by $200. However, we were coming in significantly under budget on materials on the master bathroom (under by $1000), so he tacked on the 15% upcharge. I would not have had an issue paying this if it had been part of the contract. The other issue was that we paid him upfront for the materials. When he finished the second bathroom he returned tile and took remaining concrete and/or green board from our garage. He returned some items to Lowe's and got a store credit. He did not mention this to me at the time of settling the bill till I brought it up. At that point he informed me that the boards were not whole boards and offered to put them back. He did tell me he got about $60 for the tile and I took that off his bill. To me this shows a major lack of professionalism and ethics. Additionally, he did not provide a dumpster and haul off of all old bathroom items, etc. Instead he put items in our garbage cans inconveniencing us without having our personal trash in them. He also threw out new items (shower head, paint, etc. that were brand new or over 3/4 full). We feel that he showed no respect for our money or consideration for us as he should have asked before throwing items out that were brand new or slightly used. We are waiting to see our bill from Rumpke and will be contacting him if we're billed for having extra cans out each week.
Description of Work: Remodeled two bathrooms. Gutted both bathrooms down to the floor board and then rebuilt up -- no moving of walls, etc.

Thanks for sharing your experience with our company. As you mentioned in your review, any time you had a concern or issue, "James responded right away and fixed the issue". While we are disappointed you were not pleased with our work, some of the items in your review were never mentioned to us. Issues that you mentioned in your review related to workmanship can happen on any remodel job. The owner was unexpectedly hospitalized during this remodel, so this caused some delays to your project. Each and every issue you brought to our attention was addressed by the owner or an employee under direction of the owner. We work with all of our customers to hold cost down, so I am surprised to be hearing now that you wished to save certain materials that were disposed. We would have been more than happy to save any you wanted or we believe in recycling and donating to the restore. We also agreed to hold cost down by using your own trash receptacles instead of ordering a dumpster. We can, will, and have ordered dumpsters for our customers or provide a haul away service. I acknowledge there were some issues with the job due to my health issues and/or product defects. We made sure that every issue was resolved when you let us know about them.

Service went well from start to finish. There was one issue that I found on my own and was not told about. Other than that, the final product looks great.
Once again James did a wonderful job! This is our 3rd project with him and he once again exceeded expectations. James is extremely knowledgeable and pointed out additional items that needed to be completed to for a successful sale. He obviously takes great pride in his work.

My wife and I are remodeling our Master bathroom in our home that was built in the 1950's. We had James come out to re-arrange the plumbing for our new layout as well as pour our new shower pan. I do a lot of remodel work on the side and am also an engineer by trade and education and can recognize a job well done and attention to detail. James did a great job despite the complex nature of the job and a few setbacks due to other issues. During the job our main waster supply valve broke and would have left us stuck without water. James promptly replaced the old valves with new high quality quarter turn valves and gave us a huge discount on the added work. James worked diligently to finish the job on time. He was very punctual and always consulted with me when he had any questions or concerns. He also was very good about cleaning up after himself and leaving the work site clean and organized at the end of the day. We are very pleased with the work that was done and will be using him again in the future to do our basement bathroom.

James provided a detailed quote for the job in less than a week. We had a total of three contractors in to quote the job and James' quote was not only the least expensive, but he was also the only contractor that was able to figure out how to route the plumbing from the basement to the second floor without eliminating a closet or room space on the first floor. Upon starting the job, James was very courteous and laid down blankets from the front door to the job site minimizing dust and debris each day when we returned home from work. We appreciated James' working with us on the project. Some of the other contractors that quoted the job treated us like we were weekend warriors that had watched a few too many episodes on HGTV and our vision wasn't reasonable for the price we were willing to pay. James took the time to not only understand our vision but make it a reality for a reasonable price. After James installed all of the plumbing we did the tiling and James returned to install the toilet and fixtures. We are so happy with the work James did we are already planning our kitchen remodel with him.

James is terrific! Not only is he professional and competitively priced, he does a great job and I trust and value his opinion/judgement. If there is something that he isn't sure about (that isn't in his wheelhouse), he isn't afraid to call another professional to make sure he gets it right. As an added bonus he did a nice job working around my kids nap schedule when possible(the bathroom and bedroom share an adjoining wall). He would take a lunch break, buy supplies, etc. when my kids needed to nap. James was recommended to me from a neighbor who also loved his work.

November 2012 my main sewer was backing up in the the basement. I was reluctant to use some of the big name plumbing companies in Cincinnati based on my past experiences. James was highly recommened from a friend. I was relieved when he was able to come out the day I called him. He was polite, professional, and cleaned up when he was finished. The cost and level of service were excellent. February 2013 my 20+year old-75 gallon gas water heater began leaking. I contacted James and he came to my home the following day to give me an estimate. He recommended it be replaced. We discussed sizing and brand and we scheduled a day later in the week when I would be home. The removal and installation went well. I was extremely satisfied with the cost and level of service again. May 2013 I decided to purchased a new electric oven from Home Depot. HD wouldn't install the new stove or remove the old. The installation required disconnecting the electric at an electric box in a cabinet next to the stove. I had contacted James prior to the purchase and he came to my home and gave me an estimate on removing the old oven and installing the new oven. James was able to do the install the day my stove was delivered by HD. James made things smooth and easy on my end. Zero complaints. August 2013 I noticed water coming from the pressure release valve on my water heater. Contacted James and we discussed what could be causing the leak. I scheduled for him to come inspect the water heater that week. He determined the pressure reducing valve on my main water line was the problem. He gave me an estimate and we scheduled the work to be done when I was available to home. Once James removed and installed the new valve, the leak stopped. Excellent price and service again. James has been excellent, polite, and professional with his service. I trust having him work in my home. I will definitely be using him in the future and recommending his services to my friends and family.
