ROD'S HOME IMPROVEMENTS-RODNEY BARNES

I called them on Monday and left a message with my name and number, and he didn't get back to me until Friday, by that time, the work had been started on Monday by another company, and completed on Tuesday. I didn't need them to do the work anymore.

Rodney came out and provided a reasonable estimate and an even more reasonable timeframe to come back out to complete the job. Finished his work and left the areas clean. Final cost slightly less than original estimate. Excellent quality work. At time of original estimate, I requested estimate to repair drywall and paint a bedroom. Will definitely call him soon to complete that job, as well. I would highly recommend him. He's very respectful of client's time and money.

It went very well. They were nice and worked hard to remove the old bath. As soon as all the parts arrived they replaced the old tub installed a pocket door, new vanity and sink with toilet. They tiled the bath and floors, and it looks wonderful. They did a great job and I will use them to remodel my second bathroom with in a month from today. Great people to work with.

Rodney and his wife called back soon after I contacted them and came out the next day to look around and give us an estimate. All the work was done in about 2 days. Previously we had always appreciated when tradespeople didn't look for extra work, but Rodney did suggest a few improvements that we were glad we agreed to do. He saw some defects that we were missing just because we have lived in the house for a while but after he repainted it, it looked very sharp. The faux-granite base to our bay window looks great and fit perfectly. I was worried about how that piece would come out but Rodney did no damage to the window and suggested some low-cost fixes to some of our other concerns. They completed the work in 2 days, cleaned up after themselves - did require a little mopping afterwards but there were no paint drips or dust problems.

He was very pleasant and gave appropriate suggestions. He was very professional, but I never contracted him for the job. I will contact him in the future, if required.

They were here abt 2 to 2 1/2 hours total. No mess left from either the siding repair or the gutter cleaning. I observed them entire time; they both seemed to know what they were doing, and no mistakes made measuring, cutting, or securing the trim.

Everything went great. I was very impressed with this company.

Rod and his crew did an absolutely amazing job in remodeling my kitchen.....wow!!! they were there every day, came on time, worked very hard, and created a great new kitchen for me.. He is a wonderful polite and courteous young man who does his best to please the customer. He had great ideas and the knowledge to carry them out. I cannot believe the beautiful kitchen he created in my home. WOW!!!!

I called Rodney Barnes and they sent an electrician, Keith Hayes from Hayes Electric Services, Inc. He was very professional and installed the fixture in my kitchen. I may have him back in the future for a job in my basement.

Upon finding Rodney on Angie's list, I called him for an appointment. He responded promptly; we discussed the scope of the work and my concerns, given the peculiarities of such an old house. Rodney was not dissuaded. Work commenced as soon as some special order materials could be delivered. The crew came every day except for a couple when rain threatened. Over one weekend they left their ladder scaffolding up for me to complete some painting.

Left a message on the company's message machine explaining the work I needed done and requesting a call back to set up a time for an estimate. Still no call back after waiting a week

He is a practical contractor. He gave us quotes keeping the cost factor in mind. He was reasonable in comparison to the others. He had pictures of his previous work done, to give us an idea about his job. The worst thing was his follow-ups. It took us 4 days to establish contact with him. His wife used to contact us on most of the occasions. She used to promise a call back in a few minutes and there would be no response for 2 days. Rodney was a punctual person on job. We appreciate his approach to remodel the bathroom without unnecessary expenditure. We have contracted him to remodel our bathroom.

He was pleasant, professional, exactingly accurate and cleaned up completely upon completion of the job. We were extremely impressed with the man and with his abilities. He knew what was needed and was not satisfied until the job was completed EXACTLY. We would highly recommend him to anyone needing any type of carpentry or wood finishing work. He was great!!

I will continue to use Rodney for any home repair needs. Always prompt and calls when he is on the way. Also, always willing to offer suggestions that save us money. Was having problems with our dishwasher not operating. Rodney suspecting a burnt motor but checked into it and vacummed some dirt out of the motor and got it moving. While he was there he looked at our running toilet that I had tried to fixed. He offered suggestions, which allowed us to fix ourselves. Rodney is the best!!!

He was just a gentleman. He and his wife are really nice people. I would have him come back to other work for me. He is very creative.

Rodney had the challenge of doing a big renovation in the only bathroom in my house, working as quickly as possible so as to cause as little disruption as possible. He had a couple of surprises, having to do more wall repair than anticipated and having a change in tile design from me after he had already started to install the wall tile. Rodney and his young assistant, Scotty, worked to transform my ugly bathroom into a beautiful space. Rodney takes pride in his work and I appreciate that.

We needed a ceiling fan installed in our master bedroom - vaulted ceilings, an electrical problem with a florescent light in the bar room and a problem with the toilet handle in our spare bathroom. On Monday I made the appointment for an estimate. He came out for the estimate and by Wednesday Rodney and his son were fixing the light and hanging the ceiling fan. I appreciate his honesty with the fact he told my husband the problem with the toilet was something we could fix, but he would do it if we wanted. He showed my husband what to do and we did it ourselves. His price was reasonable. We are pleased with the work and will definitely use him again in the future!

Rod and team were very responsive and conscientious. I appreciated the fact that he offered ideas and solutions. I would highly recommend.

Rodney is a talented trouble shooter who takes pride in his work - in doing it right and in charging a fair price. He repaired broken floorboards for me that another carpenter had thought might be a major job. Rodney came to hang an oversized mirror for me. When I asked him to give me an estimate on the floor, he asked "Well, do you want me to repair this now?" In less than an hour, he had the floor fixed. I had a similar situation with the installlation of a bathroom fan: someone else thought it might be tricky where Rodney did the job exactly the way it should be done. Rodney knows how work with old houses. His brother Mike was with him when installing the fan and noticed the attic vents had no screening and the attic was full of wasp nests. Mike suggested he tack up some screening, which I bought and he installed. As he and Rodney were leaving my house, Mike took a screwdriver and adjusted my storm doors so they would not slam - I didn't even know that was fixable! I can see why Rodney and his crew have gotten Angie's List Super Service Awards. I look forward to him completing a bathroom remodel for me later this spring.

I was looking for someone who was versatile and could do a wide range of tasks and I'm glad I chose Rodney. We were preparing to put our house on the market and needed a quick turnaround on some repair work. Rodney was quick to respond and schedule the job, and over the course of a few visits, he and his crew performed a number of tasks inside and outside our house. He did everything he said he was going to do and did it well. He declined to work on one electrical task and a fairly major window replacement, but I appreciate that he didn't try to take on projects he wasn't comfortable doing. He and his crew were professional and conveyed a sincere care about doing quality work. They were also just nice guys to have around, and were really respectful of our time constraints and living space. On the first day they worked at our house, I was away and my husband had to leave before they were finished. My husband left them a key - they cleaned up, locked up the house and put the key in the mailbox, and really gained our trust in doing so. The quality of the work was excellent - in particular, the siding, trim and plaster patching they did looks like new. All in all it was a ton of work that they did. We're happy with all of it and feel like it was a great value for the price.

He was a plus in dealing with people and getting the job done.

Rod and his crew were on time, courteous, friendly and easy to work with! He actually replaced an interior door in my kitchen, which wasn't on the original work order. He did an exceptionally nice job of covering the paneling and painting the walls and woodwork. I will be using him again in a few months for more work in my home. I would recommend him highly to anyone who needs work done in their home..

They were very good and their estimate was excellent. They gave some alternative suggestions for the wood floor that I wanted.

They hung a light on the outside of my mother?s house. They were prompt and inexpensive.

Rod does excellent work. I've hired him before and have been very satisfied. Rod removed two floor cabinets in my half-bath and then replaced the floor. He painted the room. He put the cabinets back, and the new sink and cabinet, hung a mirror and installed new lighting above the mirror. After the sink was installed, a hole appeared in the crease along the back splash due to an air bubble. He had to remove the sink and I exchanged it. He then came Saturday morning to install the new sink. He didn't charge extra for the time which was very good of him. He removed the carpet from three steps and a landing going to my basement. I asked him to replace it with the vinyl flooring that was left over from the bathroom. He told me it probably wouldn't hold up well over the wood floor if it wasn't smooth. He then brought a piece of carpet he had at home and with my approval, installed it. One thing I really appreciate with Rod is his willingness to offer suggestions and let me know if he thinks there's a better solution. I will definitely hire him again.
