Serving Wichita and the surrounding area since 1955, Roth Heating & Air Conditioning is proudly owned and operated by Brad and Michelle Freeman, with Joshua Freeman as an additional contact. As a family-run, Christian-based business, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service with honesty and integrity. Our office and display room are open from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Service hours are available from 8 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays. After-hours service is available seven days a week until 10:00 PM for your convenience. Financing is available for new equipment installations, and we offer a 10% senior discount on service calls.

Our air conditioner stopped working properly so we initially called our home warranty (American Home Shield) who couldn't send anyone out for six days. The temperature kept rising and after $200 spent on fans and our bedroom temp still being 90 at night with all the windows open, we decided to call other companies ourselves. Roth Heating & Air was the only company that was able to provide same-day service - the two others we called were estimating anywhere from a 2-5 day wait. The technician arrived within two hours of my call. He wasn't rude by any means, but not the friendliest, although knowledgable which is what matters most. Did a thorough inspection and determined that our capacitor was not functioning properly so replaced that as well as serviced our air conditioner (washing it, checking components, etc.) since we hadn't had that done for the year. He also advised us that our unit was actually too small for the house, which we had no idea about since we bought it as a resale, so it's good to have that information for when it needs to be replaced down the road. There were some companies we called that had a cheaper pricing structure (Roth was $79 for first 30-minutes, plus $25 for each 15 minute increment thereafter) but in a time crunch, we were willing to pay a little more. They also offer annual maintenance plans that cover spring & fall tune-ups, which we will likely look into in the future since it offers a discount on any service calls during the contract year.

They fit me into the schedule the day I requested service. Doug was on time and seemed to be knowledgable regarding A/C units; he explained to me everything I needed to know and clearly laid out my options. Bonus points for being on time. Really happy with my service and will use these guys again next time I have an issue related to my A/C or heating unit. Price was also very reasonable compared to the other companies.

Had multiple ignition issues with gas furnace. Tried to troubleshoot myself and ran out of ideas. Called after hours number in middle of a snow storm and service tech came out to help. Arrived as on time as you can be in a storm, quick analysis determined it just needed a service. Managed to get everything cleaned and done in under and hour and keep it at just the base after hours 1 hour call rate, rather than the extra surcharge. Very quick, polite, and efficient.

Tim was very patient, thorough and professional explaining to me what the problem was, he had it figured out in probably less than 10 minutes. He even answered my questions about the humidifier and other connected parts that were not part of the problem. He got the heater back up and running just fine in no time.
He then went ahead and cleaned out the system, checked to make sure that it was safe and had no types of leaks, he also took care of the humidifier at my request which I didn't even know how to use until he explained it to me.
Very knowledgeable technician, very polite and friendly, would gladly recommend him and his company to others without hesitation.
I was a little concerned having never had to hire a heating company before, but it was not nearly as bad as I worried about. They also offer options which Tim explained to me; again at my request for maintenance agreements. Very knowledgeable and no pressure explanations.
I don't have a basis for comparison price wise since everyone else wanted me to wait until the next week to even look at it, but I did not feel like I was being ripped off.

They promptly set up and came out to do the estimate and they were here on time. The estimate required that they have an electrician come out. The electrician came out the next day which was a Friday and Roth was to give me the estimate on Monday. They did not call me again until Wednesday and their bid was over 30% higher than the other two I had. He said it was because the other companies were quoting 12000 BTU units and his was 20000 BTU. He also indicated that both of them were specifying units that were way undersized. I checked with the other. I contacted the other estimaters and they both assured me that the load was about 9000 BTU for a 100 degree day and with the existing A/C supplying some cooling that the 12000 BTU unit would be more than able to handle the load.

Our salesman should have contacted the customer on the day he said he would to explain why the estimate was not ready and provide him with a new timeline for estimate completion. Secondly, we should have provided the customer with the results of our load calculation and explained why it was different than the other two companies.
