+ 1 moreWe got a late fall start, mostly due to our indecision about the colors, but also because Jeff Sapp dropped the ball a bit on scheduling. He initially promised a typical large crew that would roar through the job in under two weeks. Instead, he assigned a 3-member crew from Ottawa, because of the personal attention and detailed work needed. The project took about two months due to the small crew, the cold/rainy/icy Nov/Dec weather and the unexpected complexity of the job. Even though it took longer than expected, we highly appreciate that Donnie and his crew took the time to do it right. They were very professional, easy to get along with and wanted a quality job as much as we did. They came to work on miserably cold days, but would not paint or caulk if the dew point and temperature weren t ideal. They did not leave the project until it was completely done, they did everything that we wrote into the contract, and there were no significant surprises.
Description of Work: Our 95-year-old, three-story, wood-sided, Brookside house and garage were in sore need of a new coat of paint. Sharper Impressions applied two coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint after power washing and some hand scraping, priming of exposed wood and caulking. The extensive job included a seven-color paint scheme, the removal and re-installation of the storms on fifty windows and the installation of our Nixalite pigeon guard. This all was done at no additional charge, except for the re-glazing of a few windows ($50.00 per window) and the replacement of some rotted wood (lower cost if you provide the wood), which was all agreed to in the contract before work began. Their estimate was 40% less than most other contractors and included a lot of work other contractors refused to do. On top of that, this insured Better Business Bureau member provided a 5-year guarantee and offered a paint color consultant and two quarts of test paint at no additional charge.
