Moore's Doors's owner, Mark Moore, provided us with an estimate bid to replace our two garage doors that was competitive with the other two estimates we received from other Angie's List garage door company recommendations. Ultimately we ended up selecting a garage door vendor that had done excellent work for us before and had the doors we wanted in stock (Mark had to order the doors - a two week delay). However, we were very impressed with Mark's down-to-earth, common-sense approach to the replacement work and willingness to bid the job in a way that allowed us to see different costs clearly for different options (windows vs. no windows, for example). He also provided suggestions for how we could bring the total price down by purchasing some of the elements ourselves for him to install. While he was at our home, Mark provided us with sample door colors and brochures illustrating the different door design options so we could see our choices clearly and compare the styles and colors directly against our existing home outside colors and textures. This was very helpful. Moore's Doors has a great reputation and from what we could tell from our interaction with Mark, it is well-deserved.

On Monday April 11th when i dropped off my son to his school I had noticed my garage door would not close when i came back home after dropping him off. I had attempted to diagnose and fix the problem myself however i was stuck. I have limited knowledge on the operation of a garage door opener however i attempted to trouble shoot with the owner's manual. I had done some simple measures myself from the advise of a appliance professional like changing the sensor after ordering the product which arrived by mail several days later. One of the sensors was broken and not functioning so it needed replacement however this was not the reason why the garage door opener was not operating. I then attempted to get a opinion again as to what could be the problem from a appliance professional and he mentioned that the problem could be the motor or the chain and/or cable which was not able to move. This area was not this professional's expertise so he recommended i contact a garage door opener professional. I took the appliance professional's advise and contacted Moore's Doors. Mark Moore who is the owner of Moore's Doors called me back right away after he was contacted. He was friendly and left a voicemail for me to return his call. Later on I returned his call and mentioned to him i hear a humming noise and this humming noise seems to me that either the motor is burned up or the chain or cable is unable to move. He mentioned to me he would come by and diagnose what could be the problem and give me a estimate. Mark was friendly when he arrived. He seemed like he wanted to do this work and right away very quickly diagnosed what the problem was. He is excellent in diagnosing the problems with a garage door opener unit. He told me right away that the problem with the unit is that the Torsion Springs is broken and needs replacement. Mark was not only excellent with diagnosing the problem but he was good in the way he educated me about the operation of a garage door opener. It was so obvious that the problem was the Torsion Springs after he pointed them out and showed me how that was causing the garage door not to open. Mark then went to work right away after i authorized him to go ahead with the project. He had the parts readily available in his truck and quickly brought them in and started the process of replacing the old torsion springs with the new ones. He recommended replacing both of the torsion springs even though only one was broken. He explained to me that over the years this can happen and made me feel comfortable that this can be a problem that can occur. One observation i made was that he did not feel uncomfortable by me watching him do this project. You can tell that he is experienced and is capable of fixing the problem when observing him. When observing him you can see with your own eyes that he is not only detail oriented but likes to make sure that the job is completely done with quality and not trying to rush thru the project. Mark also looked at the second garage door opener and made some adjustments there as well. He lubricated many areas on both garage door areas with the aerosol lubricator he brought with him. He was professional from the phone call, when he came to the house, when he started and finished his work and also when he left. I had forgot to ask him about the warranty information on the work he performed. So i contacted him back by phone and he mentioned to me that the part and work is warrantied for 5 years. He is even highly professional after he finishes his work. Totally praiseworthy, honest and a professional.
