Both the estimate and the installation were done promptly. I was impressed that the installer came out on such a cold day in January to get the old door out and the new door in. I didn't need a new opener, so I got the new door, new tracks, and new springs installed. It took about 2 1/2 hours, and he took the old door and hardware with him when he left. I have an old house that has settled, he was able to get the door so that it is snug to the ground to keep out any critters that may try to seek refuge in my garage. I am pleased with the look and function of my new garage door.

Called before arriving. Was courteous & professional. After removing old opener and installing the new one, he walked me thru all operations and programming of the new unit. Very easy to understand.

'Torsion spring broke in garage door trapping our car inside. This was late morning of the day before New Year's Day. This company showed up late afternoon on the same day. The technician was both personable and technically expert. The repair took less than an hour. If this was not fixed we would have been house bound for 2 days.

Company was easy to schedule and was on time. The major issue I have was the simple tension adjustment and grease job was billed at $326.55 per hour. They also are still charging a fuel surcharge which is ridiculous at $108.85 for 20 mins of work.

The company installed two garage doors on my house. A service representative came to my house to measure and let me choose the type of door I wanted. The installer came promptly and told me what he planned to do and how long it should take to complete the job. He actually finished earlier than he said. My house is 40 years old and has settled some causing more of a gap on one door of the garage. The installer was able to install the door to compensate for the gap as much as possible. The sales representative had not thought this would be possible so I was especially pleased that the installer took the time and effort to compensate for the gap as much as possible. The cost seems high, but it was worth it to have the job done so well.

The tech couldn't tell us what was wrong. But it cost $70 for him to come out. We ordered a new door and opener. I wanted to look at styles, but the tech didn't have a book. So I drove 20min to go look at doors. They couldn't order it I could just look. I called the main number to schedule and tell them what style I wanted, they had no record of me. I was transferred around tree times to a voicemail then I called back and was transferred around another 3 times before someone found my information. I schedule the door install and the day of they cancelled because someone was sick, a half hour before coming. Then I do a 10-2 window for them to come for the next install. I call to confirm the day off, get transferred around 3 times and again they couldn't find my info. They tell me my window is 8-12 I said no it's 10-2. This is the first time they tell me it'll take 4hrs to do my door. So I have a 4hr window and then a 4hr install. So that's a whole day. I am very unhappy with the service. Not worth all the run around. I almost cancelled my order when I first had issues and I should've! Use someone else! Don't use overhead door!

Technician was exactly on time and acted like working in the rain was no inconvenience at all. He was polite and explained what and why he was taking the steps he performed.

It went well. He was on time and seemed to know what he was doing. I thought it was a little high considering what had to be done.

It went great! He called while he was en route and was here within 15 minutes and was done in about 30 minutes. Darren was great!

The service man worked on the door and it seemed to be working but two days later it was doing the same thing as before. I still have to manually push down on the door to make sure it is closed down completely, just as I did before I paid to have it adjusted.

These guys are great, they are fast, honest and do great work. The only part of the system they didn't repair (because it wasn't broken) was the spring that holds the door down ... well guess what... watch for another review on that, they'll be here tomorrow as that just broke today. They quoted a very fair price and got me in the next day. So far these guys are awesome.

The technician arrived on time, was very professional, and explained everything to me. In addition, he took the time to program the keypad for me at the end of the visit. He also was very pleasant about giving me a 5% Angie's List discount.

The technician was on time. He ws polite and courteous. He quickly identified the problem and fixed it. In addition, as a courtesy he did a little maintannce on my door to make it run smoother and gave me some helpful tips of things to try before calling.

my husband called the company because we had trouble with our 38 yrs old opener. The service man came the next day to install a new one, he was very courteous and careful not to let the dogs out. The opener came with 2 remotes, my car has a universal remote in the visor, and that didn't work, so an other technician came the next day to fix up the problem, and now we have a new opener which is more quiet.

They did a fabulous job! They were right in time, knew exactly how to fix the problem and very time efficient!

I'm a long-time DIY'er so when the garage door keyless entry pad broke, I looked at the home warehouse sites for replacements. The reviews were mixed, some people said it was easy and others said it took hours. I called Overhead Door since they installed it and I've worked with them for years, always with great results. To have one of their techs come install a new wireless keypad would have been about $150, which compared to the $45 or so for the after-market openers made me rethink rounding up my tools. But the operator was great, when I asked what after-market model she'd recommend she advised me to go to their parts department and pick on up that would be sure to match my Overhead Door opener--for only about $55. She also let me know which locations were still open on a Saturday and gave me instructions on how to get to one open late in OPK near 151 and Metcalf--a haul but we're talking $100 so it was worth it. This is the kind of customer service I've had from this company before, and one of the reasons we always go back. Their customer service got even better at the parts store. Not only was a replacement part in stock, but the guy helping us told us not to even bother with the 8-page instruction manual included in the box (8 pages, seriously???), and instead handed us a single sheet with all of three steps they've drawn up themselves (in readable size type, I might add? ; ). The first step he even did for us, which was to program in our code. He also showed us how to mount it and advised us not to over-tighten the screws with the way the mounting bracket worked. The only thing left was to sync the keypad with the opener, but he even showed us on the simple instruction sheet which button to suppress, the very simple steps that followed, and sent us out the door completely confident. Moment of truth time--and no surprise after all their help--it took literally less than 30 seconds to get this new opener activated. I wish I could remember both people's names who helped us today so I could recognize them here, but in my experience in 20+ years of home renovating and DIY'ing with Overhead Door as our go-to source for anything garage door, this is one company where I'm confident I could reach anyone there and get this kind of experience again. And if you're a DIY'er yourself, you know that's saying a lot. A+++ experience beginning to end, thanks Overhead Door of Kansas City!

Brad, who diagonsed the issue and sold us the new unit was great; helpful with suggestions and detailed in his explainations. We had Scott come out later in the week to install the new unit that Brad sold us. The installation looks solid but Scott forgot the key pad and had to come back out a week later to install it. He also wasn't nearly as service oriented as Brad had been and didn't spend any time going over anything with us. That dissapointed me a little bit.

We heard a loud "bang" in the garage & noticed a spring had broken from one of the garage doors. I called Overhead Door at the close of the day & they were able to give me an appointment for the next morning. The service technician, Kirk, called when he was headed our way. He was courteous and professional and had the work done in about 30 min or so. Although only one spring was broken, he recommended replacing the other also, as it looked like it had seen better days. (I could tell this was true - even without comparing it to our other garage door springs which were replaced several years ago.)

They did a great job, but came back a second time to do the rollers and weatherstrip. They didn't show up the 2nd day and said the computers were down and they didn't get me on the schedule. They came the next week and finished the job and gave me a 20% discount for not showing as scheduled the 2nd time.

The service man responded quickly to my call regarding my broken lift, and when he discovered that the unit needed to be replaced, immediately scheduled an installation, as he did not have a unit on his truck. He disengaged the broken unit so that I was able to manually lift the door. The second service man arrived as scheduled and replaced everything. I was very pleased with the service I received; all was performed professionally and in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this company.

They were called to put in a draw bar plate. The price of a service call is $69-70 dollars. They came and did the work, but while they were here, they installed a new extension cable. This was done without our permission, without telling us they were doing, or explaining it to us. They presented us with a bill for $160.67, which I paid. After I found out what they did, I have called them, and they put me in touch with President of the company, who called the operations manager of the branch we used. They were supposed to return $66.67. I have called them three times since then, and I still have not gotten the money back.

Was able to make appointment late on a Sunday night for the following day. Tech arrived timely, attempted to repair existing door. Determined that it was unrepairable, which confirmed my assessment. Made all arrangements for new door installation at my earliest available time. Installer arrived on time with everything needed and took down the 50 year old door and installed the new one to my satisfaction.

It went pretty well and I am pleased with them overall. We had a bid from someone else as well. We had an unusal situation with the garage door and they were able to solve it. We had a crooked floor and they were still able to install the door with some creative ideas. We had to call back 3 times on minor issues, but they were solved quickly and the door is working great.
