On 2/1/2022, I gave them a deposit of $1500 with the promise that job would be completed within 2months. It is now 09/07/2022 install was set last week for today. Got a call today with more excuses on why job cant be completed. I went with this company because I thought they could handle a job of this size. MAN WAS I WRONG.

My garage door would not shut because one of the cables came off. I put the cable back on but it came off again immediately when I tried to shut the door. I called Overhead Door Company of Kansas City and they came to my house the same day. Marshall was awesome in fixing my garage door. The issue with my door seemed extremely serious but he performed minor maintenance on the door and now it opens and closes like new. He asked if I had any questions or other issues. There were some things about the door opener that I didn't understand that he explained to me. He also provided helpful tips that I didn't even know to ask. He was extremely friendly and courteous. The cost was extremely reasonable. Overhead Door Company of Kansas City now has me as a permanent customer because of Marshall. I almost never provide reviews but I was so satisfied with their service, I just had to write this review.

Awful. Called on a Sunday for emergency service as I had a broken garage door spring. Can't open the door. They said someone was coming out. Nobody showed up. Monday morning called back. They said they couldn't get to it until late in the day Monday. AVOID.

Well done and works well.

Great, we have had trouble with our opener for a long time. I called Overhead Door they came out same day as a service call. It was determined a replacement was required (at my request) and they actually did it the same day. They were also very Covid aware and we appreciated that.

Terrible, the door was opening and closing just fine, all I needed if for them to check the tension on the springs. The first guy came in and he apparently over tightened or screwed things up to where the door started making loud clicks and knocking sounds, which it did not before. We called and they sent in another gentleman who started telling the general concepts of garage doors bowing with time and the joints get old and start making sounds, I asked him to lubricate the different joints (maybe one was messed up due to the prior guy poor work). I had to leave, and he ended up CHARGING my wife $35 for doing nothing, or doing what the first guy should have done, so now, I am $125 out of pocket and have a door that sounds like it is going to break or collapse anytime. Very disappointing, if the first guy realized everything is working fine with the door, then he should not have messed it up. If I could attach a video with the sounds the door makes now, you will know what I am talking about. SE

I wrote a D review originally. However I received a phone call soon after and we discussed the situation. I respect a company that is responsive when a customer is unhappy. We were able to resolve and I will hire this company again.

Great....Enrique showed up on time, was clean and neat with his work and very polite. Enrique also did a wonderful job answering any questions I had.

Would recommend. Came out almost immediately after placing call to schedule. Work was done efficiently, quickly, and affordably. Overall very satisfied.

As always, service was quick and done correctly the first time. A shout out to Kacy Burt, our service tech, who did such an excellent job for us!

We were given 3 options which were explained well. Work was completed in a timely manner.

They were out within an hour of calling. The bottom panel is coming in and work should be completed in the next couple weeks.

Customer Bliss sums my experience with Overhead Door Company of Kansas City (OHD) quite nicely. Approximately a year and a half ago I had hired another vendor to install a new 16' garage door; sadly a company by the name of A-1 Garage Doors that I found great reviews for on Angie's List. They are no longer to be found here to leave a follow-up review. The experience with that company was not at all good. The door never worked right from day 1, and had the vendor out multiple times to attempt remedy; to no avail. The initial door installed was cut wrong, which led to them having to recut the top section because of low headroom clearance, which I definitely made known at the time of receiving the estimate prior to accepting the contract. When the service technician sent for follow up arrived, he explained the sales rep was new and was still learning. I found it odd that the company was listing itself as serving Kansas, and each visit was being dispatched out if Wichita, leading to me being left waiting a few times on no shows. My time is very limited and I grew weary in ever finding satisfaction with the vendor. I was unable to use the door throughout the winter of last year because the door opener required pressing the button insane amounts of time to get the door to close; the door was binding in the tracks. Fast forward to what led me to Overhead Door; a few weeks ago my adult son was working in the garage and he yelled for me to come there quickly; the door had completely twisted and the top section had come out out the tracks and was hanging down. My son was frantically holding things in place to keep the situation from getting worse. We were able to keep the door from getting damaged and managed to get it detached from the door opener and lowered. I called Overhead Door following the weekend and had them access the situation. Brian C. came out and was incredibly knowledgeable, while being very thorough in evaluating what had taken place. He pointed out that the torsion spring had been installed on the wrong side of the bar assembly, the cable pullies had been installed on the inside of the tracks, whereas the low headroom track assemblies require them to be mounted outside of the track, he showed me how the tracks had bowed out and twisted, and then last, but not least, he pointed out that the entire torsion assembly had been installed using one single lag screw per each side; hence, the reason for the twisted tracks. He emphasized the danger that existed, which I agreed whole-heartedly with. Brian was extremely professional and polite, and obviously an expert in his field. I contracted OHD to do the repairs. Nathaniel was the technician who arrived to do the actual repairs, and like Brian, both men were very punctual and professional. Nate explained the work he was about to perform, which assured me that I could trust the repairs would be done correct. I felt comfortable in knowing the level of professionals I was dealing with this time around. I told Nate to just call me if he needed anything or had any questions, and to let me know when he was done so I could restrain the dog and come down to review the work. I took a nap, being a nightshift worker, while Nate re-installed the door. The door worked flawlessly, and Nate covered all the repairs that had taken place. He showed me the heavy duty brackets that he had used to replace inferior ones, showed me the cable brackets and how they were securely mounted to the jambs. The door sat level and I was unable to see daylight seeping in from anywhere around the door; something I had repeatedly complained about with the original vendor. When I brought up the fact with A-1 Garage Door Co that the top panel gaped in at the top, they said the door opener would hold it in place. This was not the case with the quality installation performed by OHD, Nate. The door was seated properly and worked like a charm. I'm no longer afraid to open my garage door in fear that it will fall out of the tracks or I won't be able to get the door down with the opener because of it binding in the tracks. I highly recommend Overhead Door Company of Kansas City, and will be using them in the future to replace entry doors and other products they might offer. They will be my first stop for new products.
