The entire experience from reviewing the needed work, tile selection, and installation was extremely good. The workers were courteous, timely, & professional. They put down protective material from the entryway into the bathroom to prevent any potential accidental damage & cleaned up thoroughly each day prior to leaving. The bathrooms look great.

Service and installation was fantastic. The installation was complicated by uneven concrete, but the installer, Josh, did a great job of leveling the floor. Price quote was a little higher than some others I recieved but I found their estimate to be more detailed and I had more confidence that there wouldn't be any surprises. I am very satisfied with the work and would use Austin Tile again.

EXCELLENT customer service all the way through.   Met at a tile warehouse and discussed ALL of the job details, the materials, what would and would not work with our overall design and plan.   Workers were courteous, very professional, cleaned up after themselves, and took pride in their work.  Communication with job management was simple and responsive.  Tile work is not cheap so do not expect the Taj Mahal for $100.  These people do quality work and are craftsman.

These guys really did a fantastic job. I ended up taking 1 point off of the responsiveness category because we had to re-schedule the installation after I told them that the place I was buying the tile from may not have it on the day they were initially slated to be there. Later that same day, I was able to get confirmation that the tile would arrive on time, and immediately let Austin Tile know, but they had already rescheduled and said they couldn't start now until 3 days after we initially agreed upon. I understand this from a business perspective, and you have to keep your guys scheduled...but thought that I shouldn't be penalized for keeping them in the know. This is the only point I would deduct from their overall score.
Beyond this initial hiccup, everything went very well. The guys that were doing the work were very courteous, prompt, and professional, and you could tell they have done this hundreds of times. They had even recently done an installation of the exact same tile that we decided to use on the floor (porcelain wood-look tile in 6"x24" planks). From what I have read this floor is slightly more difficult to install properly since the "boards" are so long and relatively narrow. From watching these guys, and seeing the finished product, I wouldn't have known this to be more difficult. They even nearly finished within the initial time frame (1 additional day) after beginning the project later than initially proposed. And man, it looks GOOD.
In the end, I would definitely use Austin Tile again. Andy was fantastic to work with up front, told me the main concerns that he had, and stuck to the initial quote he gave me, even though it was later found to be about 70 sq ft more than thought. I would highly recommend them to anyone else that is looking to get quality tile work done in a quick time, while still remaining affordable.

They did a wonderful job. They arrived on time everyday and were respectful of my home. They laid tarps from the entry all the way to the bath everyday. They were also very effecient at completing the project. They knew that time was important to me and even called to see if I wanted to move up my floor installation when they had a product delay on another customer. Pricing seemed fair and the workers and owner seemed honest. The secretary, teresa, was always very helpful as well. Definitely recommend. I met with a lot of contractors before starting my remodel and I am most pleased with them.

The tile was laid in two days by two different guys. The did a very good job and it looks great. When we walk in the bathroom from our old carpet it feels like we are stepping into some fancy place. We are very pleased and will most likely hire them again if we have more tile work.

They said that would start the job at 8:30 am and they pulled in the driveway at 8.24 am - that is what I consider being prompt. After looking at the job, the young man said they would be done in one day and they finished at about 3:00 pm. They laid tarps from the entrance door to the job area and cleaned up as they went along. They were meticulous about cleaning up after they finished. The two men were very professional, courteous and efficient.
This was my first experience using Angie's List and the firm lived up to the comments posted about them.

Proposal was competitive but not lowest price. I was very impressed by Andy Austin, who came personally to discuss the job and provide the quote. They were booked for a couple of weeks but got to our job sooner than expected. Workers showed up right on time and completed slightly ahead of schedule despite some challenges with inconsistent sizing of the tile I'd bought from Lowe's. Work quality was great. Extremely pleased with the job overall, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Excellent overall value.

Austin Tile truly cares about their customers and ensure that the work meets client satisfaction, even if it means redoing a portion of a job.  I did have a design issue with the kitchen floor and they rectified the situation immediately and the work turned out incredible.
They will be able to help you with your every need from concept/design through tile purchasing and installation.  The whole team (subcontractors included) has a keen eye for detail and are trustworthy. They ensure that everything is done appropriately.

Everyone helped make this a nice experience! Jeremy helped me pick out the tile that would work best for me and my color scheme. Don came out and measured when we got our remodel done. they helped us plan and as soon as we were ready they were scheduled to come in and do the shower. The shower door was installed a few days after the shower opening was complete (being custom fit to match our opening). It is a totally tiled shower, ceiling and all, with a overhead light as well. I absolutely love the shower. It has a brown tile with matching floor tile. I also had a decorative "vine" decorative tile to break it up at eye level. Brushed nickel shower head and faucet finished off the effect. I absolutely couldn't be more pleased!

Another contractor (a highly rated one with a lot of reviews, by the way) had agreed to perform the job in a certain way, and then mislead us to get out of that agreement. I called Austin Tile to redo the job correctly.

Don came out to look at the job the same day I called. Although I was a bit jaded because of the aforementioned bad contractor, I knew I could trust Don. He were very understanding and absolutely committed to doing the job right before, during and after execution. Austin Tile did not demand any money upfront and did not ask us to pay until after confirming the job had been done right.

They were very willing to order the tile from the same supplier we had used previously--although I am under the impression they do not normally work with this supplier. Austin Tile passed their significant contractor discount to us.

The guys who performed the work were punctual, courteous, positive and professional. In about four hours time they removed the first installation down to the plywood subfloor (including 1/2" particle board that the first contractor said could not be removed) and installed the new underlayment. They even suggested raising the door threshold slightly to ensure we would have the flexibility to use a rug after installing the new tile. After the tile arrived a few days later, they returned to perform the installation. The outcome was exactly what it should have been the first time around. Don also recommended a guy to reattach our carpet, who did excellent work as well.

A great end-to-end experience! Exactly what I hope for when looking for a contractor. Don't hesitate to call them!

We visited their showroom one saturday morning to discuss our job with Don. Found him to be very experienced and knowledgable about the business and the craft. He seemed to be as honest as people come, and willing to help us find the right products (tile) at the best possible price. His son Andy came out to measure and discuss the job in detail. We had many questions about installation methods, as prepping a subfloor properly is especially critical to a quality installation for natural stone, and this is where we found notable differences between bidders. Andy was patient and informative. I also questioned how we could assure the understanding being reached with him would translate to the installers. He took specific and appropriately detailed notes regarding the process they should follow, and those were ultimately part of the work instructions.

Soon after the installation there was a a problem with the exposed tile edge chipping where the floor transitions from tile to carpet. This would happen as a result of stepping on the edge. They came back promptly to investigate, and subsequently cut a bevel across the leading edge. This addressed the problem without compromising the finished appearance in the least. They also changed a couple of accent tiles that we felt were imperfect in appearence. There have been no further problems.

The final product looks and feels great.

DO:
- research your job, particularly what the industry recommendations are to properly prepare the type of subfloor for the type of product you are having installed.
- get multiple bids.
- discuss the details and question what they do and why they do it the way they propose.
- research the heating products and understand the installation methods if this is part of your job.

DON'T:
- rush the process or the chances of making a bad choice are increased
- buy on price alone. If the preferred installer seems to be priced out of line, discuss it with them and see if they can work with you to arrive at a mutually acceptable figure.

We had several companies bid the job. I think it was about 6-7 companies. They were not the lowest price, nor were they the highest price. They actually were right in the middle. We picked them because another friend had used their services and highly recommended Austin Tile. The owner's son was our salesperson. He was very professional and easy-going. My grandma even decided to have a political conversation with him and he handled it very well. I stayed home quite a bit while the job was in progress. They did a great job and cleaned up daily. They also put down plastic on all carpeted areas, which was very nice. I didn't notice any problems. Everything was done correctly. We've had this tile for about 9 months now, and it is perfect. They seem to be a very good company.

They are family-owned. Very knowledgable. Very responsible and knowledgable employees. They are going to come back and clean and seal the grout in my entry way. They are just wonderful and come highly recommended in my city.
