They did a very good job, we have been using them for about 10 -11 years, they originally installed the system, and they were able to resolve all the problems that we had. They have a very good customer service, did a quality work, and honest/fair prices.

They proposed a repair that was not necessary and expensive.

I pay at the beginning of the year. They clean it up and make sure it's working properly.

They're going to put in a new furnace and air conditioner for us next week. They put in our last furnace nineteen years ago. Maybe once a year, we just have it serviced so it'll last longer. It was working we thought fine but we just have them come service it.

They always send very professional men, and they spend an hour and a half here usually. We feel like they always give us a very thorough job and fair if something needs to be fixed, we trust them. Ours is still working. We could go possibly another three years, but they are more efficient now.

We did get another estimate from another company, but Earl Russel was a little cheaper and we went with them. We just got the two estimates. We tried to get an independent person but they weren't interested, I guess. It was the outdoor unit and then inside, they take what you might call the furnace, but actually it's an air handler, they have to take the old one out and put a new one in. It's a little bit of a limited space so they have to do a little modification to get it in there. The only thing that was wrong was when they put the insulation onto the tubing it kind of split in a tight turn. But, I had some of my own insulation. I just put it over it. So it's okay. They were responsive. They had to come out and do measurements first, do the drop out, then scheduled a time with us. They came on that day at the time they said they'd come. They were really knowledgeable. They showed me how to use the thermostat – they put a new thermostat in. They showed me how that worked and everything. I would use them again.

Not good this year. They installed my system 7 years ago and I have had them out every year. This will be our last year using them. The issue is pricing of readily available consumables. UV lights and Filter media. The lights can be easily found at $100 and they charge $211 and it requires 2. This is an unacceptable markup. I tried to work with them to reach a fair price (I made it clear I did not expect them to match lowest price I could find, but that I thought somewhere in the middle would be fair) and they would not move an inch. This is unfortunate for being such a loyal customer. Also a $35 filter media is $60 with them. None of this is labor, just the parts. In this day and age you just cannot do this. They have always had markups on these but never to this extent.

Earl Russell is the place to go for HVAC Repairs !!! Over my 30 years of home ownership I have used all the big best known outlets and always something has not been done properly (including incorrect wiring, leaky AC couplings, and installations not in accordance with the manufacturers instructions). Purchased a new house in 2009 and used the same outfit that installed my equipment with horrible results (original installation was great but found the outfit had been sold which explains the poor work). Switched to Earl Russell a couple years back ... what great people !!! Not only are they professional and courteous but they really know what they are doing. I have a rather complicated zoned system with two full units involved ... first experience was with the controller boards and thermostats. I pride myself in knowing allot about these things even though I'm not an HVAC expert. They knew exactly what to test and proved it was a different board than I had guessed, well explained the situation and how the system communicates, and even though they spent allot of time came through with a very reasonable rate. Now my AC Compressor just stopped ... no warning (and I check these things all the time). I ran through all sorts of tests and was convinced by the symptoms that the AC compressor was toast ... all locked up. Earl's team came out and said they certainly understood why I concluded it was the compressor but they doubted it was but instead most likely was a capacitor. They could have really stuck it to me and replaced the compressor but instead ended with a much less expensive repair ... replacement of a $40 capacitor. How honest !!! Had them do one more thing in case the cost seems high :-) What a great team ... professional, experienced, honest, and reasonably priced.

He comes twice year; once in the fall and once in the spring to change filters and a belt or anything if it needs it. I have a service plan with them. Each service costs $65. They are really nice people and Jason I have gotten to know pretty well. I always ask for him to come and do my work, including the checking and the cleaning. He is always reliable and he would not lie to me. He was late, but he called ahead anyhow and told me he was going to be late. The best part is he is always going to be here when he says he will be here and he does what he needs to do. He would not tell me I needed something unless it is broken or can't be repaired. He is real reliable and real honest. I think his price is fantastic. I see them advertised for $139 or $149. He has only been late one time. If I do need anything repaired he gives me a 15-percent discount for letting them do the work so I think that is real good. It is a good feature, I think. I have been with him for about 15 years. I don't think you can get any better.

The guys I worked with were great! I call for service on Sunday morning because my humidifier drain had clogged and my furnace quit running. Scott was nice enough to talk me through the process of restarting my furnace instead of charging me for a weekend service call and then got me scheduled for an appointment later that week to take care of my humidifier. Mark came out to complete the repair. He was on time, friendly and explained what everything he was doing to fix the problem. I will definitely contact them again!

My property manager tried using another company to repair a furnace that was working intermittently but after 3 failed attempts to get it fixed, the technician said that he had to come back a 4th time to replace or unclog the air intake PVC pipe that was in the ceiling. Because I sensed that the technician was misdiagnosing the problem, I then asked my tenant to call Earl Russell Heating and Cooling. The technician arrived shortly after being called and fixed the furnace in about 10 minutes at a very reasonable cost. From now on we will only use Earl Russell Heating and Cooling.

The project went very well. The technicians arrived on time, explained what they were doing, they were clean and efficient. They were professional.

Very pleased with entire process. Dave ensured the systems were properly sized and met family needs. He ensured the new system worked with our current zoning. Bryant is a quality product. The extra detail of installing a pad for the compressor added to the quality. Scott did a great job with install and answered all my questions. The combo of Dave Russell's knowledge and his team's commitment to quality cannot be beat.

It went very well. They are very courteous. They do extremely good work. They are pleasant, careful, and clean. Their prices are comparable to other companies. They are a family owned business.

Purchased a complete ac unit about four years ago and used them for periodic service. Good professional techs and staff with the exception of owner. David (owner) needs a serious course in customer relations and how to relate to same. I could not in good faith recommend.

We asked for a fair assessment of the HVAC unit and it's installation and we feel we completely got that at a very affordable price. After a thorough and careful inspection of the air conditioner, furnace, thermostats, registers, ductwork, etc., David provided a list of several observations that he found unacceptable based on his experience as a HVAC professional. He also suggested we contact the manufacturer to check the warranty. Upon doing so, we learned that the warranty for the unit was not even registered to us or our address! Although he did not try to sell us his company's services going forward, he has earned our future business based on his experience, honesty, and professionalism.

The service has always been perfect. They come when they say that they will. They are careful and clean. They always explain what they do and answer all of my questions. I will recommend them to anyone.

I had 3 different companies provide a quote for service. Dave from Earl Russell Heating and Cooling provided the lowest price. I chose Earl Russell because of the low price and their responsiveness during the quoting process. We arranged for an appointment, they ordered the parts, and they showed up on-time for installation. The installation of the new coil went well. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I obtained 3 bids for the work from local HVAC contractors. Overall, Earl Russell was competitive. Earl Russell was recommended by a neighbor who had worked in the HVAC industry. Only 1 of the 3 performed any sort of heat/cooling load calculation to verify the proper size units. The other 2 assumed that since we had no complaints on the old unit, that a similar sized unit would work. Earl Russell priced up various options and between their figures and my analysis of our heating and cooling costs, I selected a set of units that I thought would be most economical. (as a side note, the very most efficient may not be the best value due to their higher costs and longer payback period). They performed the work and schedule and it has been working fine ever since. Only complaint is that I discovered gaps between the electronic air cleaner and the adjoining ductwork and furnace later on. Earl Russell's only fix was to suggest silicone sealant to plug the gaps. Most of the gaps were 1/4and quot; or less, but one area was up to 1/2and quot; and I rejected this sealant option. The ductwork should have been better mated to the air cleaner unit. Told them I would fix it myself in lieu of a glob of sealant. This is the reason for the B ratings above.

The customer service is great and the detail with the services is also great.

Earl Russell Hand C (ER) has been the company I have used for all my HVAC work since I have lived in my current home (15 years). For the past several years, I have been under a service contract with them where they provide spring and fall tune ups/maintenance. ER has also replaced my furnace, added a heat pump, humidifier, and replaced air conditioning units as well over this time frame. One great thing about the company is that essentially the same people/person come out for the job each time so they know me and my system. I completely trust them alone in my home. There is a great deal of quality and pride they put into their work and I am always treated fairly.

Knowing that I wanted to support the Carrier Corp, that left me installing a Carrier or Bryant unit. I searched out the two largest dealers in the city to start. I was disappointed in the overall knowledge of the sales force. They did not like that my existing system was mis-matched and that was somewhat confusing to them(the key is it worked fine for over 16 years with minimal service). I sought out one other quote aside from Earl Russell(ER). That company was also a little confused by the sizing but seemed to want to dwell on things that were insignificant to me. My biggest gripe all quotes aside from ER was when it came to sales tax. For some silly reason I thought to ask about sales tax. No one, including ER said anything on their quote regarding sales tax. The difference was that ER built into the quote and then itemized it out on the final invoice. The other companies were going to make it a surprise at the end. I did not appreciate that. Dave Russell, the owner, came out to do the quote, help with the install, and a followup call to go over the unit. Felt like I was taking delivery of a new car. To me, Dave has many years of experience and knowledge. I tend to be a technical person, he was able to answer all my questions and explain them to my satisfaction. I appreciate Dave's people. His installers, Scott and Mike, were very nice and courteous. And you can tell by the way Melanie answers the phone that Dave is a great person to work for. We look forward to a long relationship with Earl Russell Heating and Cooling.

My A/C seemed like it was not working well. The company responded quickly after my call, came out promptly, and checked out the AC thoroughly, and determined there was not a problem, coolant was OK, etc. This is good because many companies would tell me I needed a newer unit since mine is older. They told me to keep the temperature closer to my target and not turn it up so high during the day and down low when I get home from work. They also installed some new insulation tubing I had purchased myself. Very happy.
