The short version is that our project was abandoned by the builder at the rough drywall stage of construction and 90% of the total contract ($54,000) paid to the builder. The list of unprofessional behaviors, safety and quality issues associated with the project could easily fill a couple of these 1000 character entry forms. Some examples included blatant disregard of some of our basic requirements, forced customer concessions on building materials, repeated no-show days and weeks, trash and building material strewn in yard and around building site, and non-delivery of paid material. When approached on these issues, Rich Moreland would provide flaccid rationalizations, trivialize our concerns and become defensive. Finally, work stopped completely on the room. We were forced to terminate the contract and hire a new builder, to finish the work. Only then did we realize the extent of quality and safety issues. After significant work, the new builder successfully completed the room.
Description of Work: Eagle Construction was hired in March 2007 to add a 20X24 bonus room to our home. The bid was comparable to other bids received and references were fine. However, soon after the contract was signed and the first payment made, things started to quickly unravel. By mid July 2007, the project was a complete disaster and I was forced to terminate the contract and absorb a large financial loss. My family (and my finances) has been distressed by the relationship with Eagle Construction and the owner, Rich Moreland. Before considering working with Eagle Construction or its owner, Rich Moreland, strongly consider my family's plight and the phrase - caveat emptor.

He was supposed to email me a detailed proposal. I never received that and I've called him several times. He first came on 4/10/07 and I didn't hear from him again until 5/25/07. At that time he apologized and said he'd been out of town for six weeks and hadn't received messages. He said he would send that email and I would have it by Monday. I never received the email or heard from him. The estimate itself was approximately $3300. After I didn't hear from him the second time, I left a message with my email and fax # in case it had been misunderstood the first time.
Description of Work: He came out to the house and gave me a rough estimate for the replacement of countertops.
