+ -1 moreThe whole process went smoothly and quickly. From the time he arrived until he left was only about an hour.
Description of Work: We were having a problem with small black ants indoors and outdoors near the back door and in the adjacent laundry room, and a problem with teeny weeny brown ants in the kitchen. The ones in the kitchen were especially annoying since they seemed to be in charge of the place. They turned up almost anywhere in the kitchen, and could disappear into the tiniest of holes or cracks. If there were dirty dishes around, they zeroed in on them quickly and in force. The Scat Pest Control representative was on time, friendly, and was thorough in determining what the problem was, and then in his explanation of what he could do about it. Although our problem was localized in small areas of the house, for a small increase in price, he would spray the whole house, so that's what I had done. He was especially thorough in the areas where the problems were located, but sprayed the baseboards in all rooms, sprayed in the crawlspace, and also around the foundation of the house.

+ -1 moreI noticed carpenter ants while painting the house and called Scat. Mark came out the next day. Because I was also replacing my wood deck, he recommended waiting until I tore the deck down. He came out the day we completed removing the old deck, and at this point (two weeks later), the spraying seems to have done the job. I appreciated his timing and responsiveness and that he explained to me what he was doing. He also gave me several recommendations to minimize recurrences (we live in the woods, so some amount of insects is inevitable).

He was professional (and personable) and took care of the problem. He said the work was guaranteed and they would return free of charge for future extermination of the nest if necessary. It was not necessary. Brad's thorough work completed the job the first visit.
Description of Work: Exterminate a nest of very aggressive yellow jackets located in the shrubs in the front of our house.

+ -1 moreDaniel sprayed the interior and exterior of our home for critters and laid traps for mice in our crawlspace and garage. Then he tackled the hard part: fighting our infestation of Pharaoh ants. They get into everything and can't be sprayed away. He identified the type of ants and course of treatment, tracked the nests, set out bait, and told me exactly what to anticipate. He even vacuumed ants out of our couch when he found them there. I was too busy freaking out about the infestation to help much. He was prompt, so nice, and went way above and beyond to help out an insect-phobe.
Description of Work: Scat identified and treated a rare form of (and difficult to treat) ant infestation.

+ -1 moreOverall, we would hire them again, we were satisfied with their promptness, thoroughness and price. They returned to check the nests again. They found that some of the nests still had baby wasps. They sprayed the nests again and destroyed them. They sure lived up to their word.
Description of Work: We had a million wasps flying around our deck. We called Scat Pest Control on Tuesday afternoon. They said they would be out to the house at 3 PM on Wednesday. Right at 3 PM the service man showed up, he looked at the problem, said we had four nests. He said it would be $125, we agreed and he sprayed for the wasps nest right away. The rep answered the phone quickly, answered our questions, and scheduled the appointment. The service tech, did all the right things, took our Angie's List coupon and said to call back if we had any more problems with the wasps.

I've not seen an ant since, except outside in one of the flower beds that I hadn't mentioned as being a problem in our initial conversations. I called to see if that particular area had been covered and Mark offered to come spray for me, even though ants outside the house are extremely difficult to control.

+ -1 moreWe found a large amount of yellow jacket traffic by our window. We immediately called Scat. They told us to do nothing to the nest and they would come out that day. When their representative came out, he immediately checked things out and powdered the yellow jackets. After he finished I asked about another gathering of yellow jackets on our swing set. He said they were really mean and it would only cost an additional $25 to powder them so we went ahead and got that nest, too. Their representative was very friendly and answered all the questions I had about the yellow jackets and what would happen.
Description of Work: They exterminated 2 nests of yellow jackets. One was behind a shutter into the eaves at the second story of our house.

+ -1 moreWe had to have Scat come back three times within a month. Their guarantee is that we won't see any more bugs during the 1st 30 days they come out or they'll return to spray our house again. So, the 2nd and 3rd visits were free. I think they did a good job but the ants were especially bad this year. Since that time we have seen a few ants, and some dead ants around the house, but nothing like it was when we initially called. I would like to have seen no more ants at all, but I don't know if that's a problem with Scat or the bugs.
Description of Work: We live in new house (less than 2 years old), but just this spring we started getting ants inside the house. We would see as many as 10 a day (spread through different rooms on the 1st floor). We called Scat to kill the ants.

+ -1 moreWhen I called, Scat was the most helpful over the phone. He asked detailed questions, talked about their experience with data, and were willing to make an evening appointment. Service person showed up very promptly, was very friendly and explained everything he would be doing. Did the work efficiently and made sure I had my questions answered. After 10+ days, we were still seeing pests, so I called back. They worked us in that day to come retreat, this time with additional weapons and more targeted efforts based on their observations (no additional charge). They recommended next steps for us as far as additional follow-up and were very helpful as far as explaining what they were doing, what they were seeing, etc. We have now seen a significant improvement since second visit.
Description of Work: They provided over-the phone consultation based on my pest observations, then came to the house to spray inside and outside.
