KD Landscaping LLC

I hate to even write about this miserable experience. I was looking for simple/basic landscaping for my new home. Unexperienced in this stuff, I trusted Kurt and his "Christ centered business" (website, sweet talker...). Well, I did poor homework, but nothing can justify paying $ 7,300 for mulch and canvas alone; no plants, no grass work done for this price. Lies from the very start ("I am the cheapest one, just look around..."). For two day work of 2 poor & hard working hispanic men: estimate was $ 6,000, asked at the end $ 1,300 more = $ 7,300. This man is greedy, greedy, greedy and as far from Christ based ethics as one can be. This spring I am paying (another landscaping company: $ 1,206 for the very same work, no canvas/scam anyhow). In short, run away from K&D Landscaping. I hope you will not repeat my mistake.

Everything has gone great. They do what they say they're going to do.

Overall, everything was great, and we will use Kurt in the future for any outdoor needs.

I removed plantings from 1978 and Kurt designed, furnished, and planted new trees, shrubs, and perennials. He was prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. He installed a flagstone wall which we didn't like and he cheerfully removed it.

I thought he was professional. The quote was more than I wanted to spend but I thought he had some excellent ideas and suggestions. He did not do the work that I originally talked to him about but he ended up putting on an early spring treatment for my lawn and a treatment for killing poison ivy.

They did a good job and they cleaned up everything after they were finished. They answered all of our questions. They had good customer service.

Very well. Kurt is extemelely knoweledgeable and caring. He knows what he is doing and he trains his crews the same. He made a small repair on the fly and at no charge.

K.D. Landscaping has been our irrigation/lawn company for about 9 years. This summer when we decided to update our landscaping, Kurt DeLong, the owner, gave us an estimate. We discussed replacing the patio due to the fact that the concrete had settled (since the house was built 18 years ago) and the water was now flowing toward our foundation instead of away from the foundation. The estimate included removal of the old patio, replacing it with a larger patio made out of stamped & stained concrete, and landscaping. Moving the underground irrigation system's sprinkler heads was not included in the estimate. The work started promptly on Monday after the contract was signed. There were about 6-7 crew members that worked on the landscaping and patio removal. They did a good job and were very responsive to my requests. Kurt stopped by frequently to check on the work and insure that everything was going well. The entire project took about a month to complete. After the concrete was poured, stamped, stained and sealed, the KD Landscaping crew returned to finish the job. They repaired the damage to the lawn from the concrete pouring day and finished up the landscaping. Everything turned out better than we could have imagined. The patio is beautiful and we receive lots of compliments on the concrete- everyone thinks that it is actual, slate, paver stones! We trust Kurt to give us the best value for our money and he and his crew do excellent work. We strongly recommend KD Landscaping for any job you need.

They did run behind their expected schedule and accidentally cut the cable wire, however they worked long hours and contacted the cable company immediately to fix the wire. The landscaping turned out very nicely and the owner is very friendly. Overall, very good experience.

Kurt is quite knowledgeable. He found and fixed a break in my line. Not sure if it was there before or not, but the previous contractor missed it. He gave me some great advice on trees and mulching. Plus picked up a job from my next door neighbor. She seem very happy, too!

Very generous about breaking their usual policies to work with me on a payment plan. The only problem, which was an honest misunderstanding, they mulched one of my next door neighbor's flower beds and left one of mine undone. It took them several trips to get it right. They were prompt, the work was excellent, they are fast. I told the supervisor it would take me weeks to get done what they did in half a day with several workers.

They charged per the amount of snow. They did a fine job. I would use them again.

It's very good quality mulch. The price is for 12 yards. It was free delivery because of the amount.

They didn't give a quote over the phone and said that they would bill us. They completed the work on time because they were doing a neighbors. However, they tore up one side of our driveway and damaged a few shrubs. At the time of this report, the damage cannot be totally seen b/c the driveway is still snow covered. However, there are shrub branches and grass in the snow banks that they plowed. They sent a bill for $95 for 25 minutes of work, which seems unreasonable. I contacted Marsha to inquire about the price. I then was inquired about prices if I were a repeat customer. She could quote me prices for up to 9 inches but after that said that the max price would be $95 per time. After reviewing other snow removal companies, KD seems out of line. In addition, I was turned off by the damage done to my yard and their inability to give me a firm quote. They did get the job done, however I will not use them again due to their out of line price and damage done to our yard.

They were very good. The owner, Kurt, returned our phone call promptly and came out right away to look at the lawn. When they came out they did a very good job.

They did a reasonably good job overall at the beginning, but as time went on and I added more landscaping, the quality of plants was questionable and in some instances unsatisfactory since many of them died in a very short period of time. They replaced only some of them. After later comparing prices, KDL was in fact very, very pricey. One problem still remains to this day .. a large evergreen was damaged during installation and looked absolutely awful. They replaced with one even a bit larger but the replacement tree never adapted. It lost a great deal of needles & branches within the first few months and continues to ail along. Many phone calls were made, but KDL refused to do anything about it including refusing to give me the name of the nursery it was purchased from. It leads me to believe it did not come from a reputable nursery, because all trees should carry a year's guarantee. Rather than continuing with all the KDL problems, I terminated them.

Did a great job, very knowledgeable and courteous. They broke a board on the back of the house with the equipment they were using and promptly fixed it. Nice, to not have to argue about it.

WE HAD OUR FRONT YARD LANDSCAPED. THE PRICES WERE A LITTLE ON THE HIGH SIDE.

KD LANDSCAPE WAS LATE FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND NEVER SENT ME A PRICE. I AM IN THE SERVICE BUSINESS AND CAN HONESTLY SAY I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

AFTER 4 YEARS THE OWNER HEARD THAT I HAD SUBMITTED A NEGATIVE REPORT. HE CALLED CAME OUT DISCUSSED THE PROBLEMS AND THEN SENT WORKERS TO CORRECT THEM.

THEY HAD TO COME BACK A NUMBER OF TIMES TO GET THINGS RIGHT, I THOUGHT THEIR WORKMANSHIP WAS SUB-STANDARD. HE WILL TRY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT, BUT YOU DO HAVE TO KEEP ON HIM. I HAD DIFFERENT PROBLEMS ALONG THE WAY WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LIGHTING, BUT AFTER NUMEROUS TIMES THEY FINALLY FIXED IT PROPERLY. I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

CONTACTED KURT FOR ESTIMATE AND HE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OVER THE PHONE (WHICH WAS $400 LESS THAN A PREVIOUS ESTIMATE). HE WAS ABLE TO FIT ME INTO HIS BUSY SCHEDULE, SEEMED VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT SOIL PREPARATION, SEEDING, AND CARING FOR THE NEWLY SEEDED LAWN. I WASN'T HOME WHEN THE YARD WAS HYDROSEEDED. HE CALLED ME AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE TO SEE IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS. I'M KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED THAT IN 3 WEEKS THE LAWN WILL BE GREEN! ONE THING THAT DID WORRY ME THOUGH WAS THAT THIS COMPANY DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY SORT OF GUARANTEE.

HE WAS A BIT PUSHY WHEN HE CAME OUT TO GIVE THE ESTIMATE AND USED HIGH PRESSURE TACTICS TO TRY AND GET ME TO SIGN UP WITH HIM. HE ALSO WANTED HALF OF THE MONEY UP FRONT. AT FIRST WHEN I CALLED HIM, HE TOLD ME HE WOULDN'T SERVICE MY PART OF TOWN, HE SAID HE NORMALLY DOESN'T GO OUTSIDE OF CARMEL. THEN HE CAME OUT AND SAW THAT I HAD A NICE HOUSE AND SAID HE WOULD GIVE AN ESTIMATE AND CONSIDER THE WORK. HE SEEMED LIKE HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING, BUT I FEEL HIS COST WAS VERY HIGH.

HIS DESIGN WAS VERY UNUSUAL AND ALL THE NEIGHBORS COMMENT ON OUR BEAUTIFUL YARD. WE RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE!
