My finished basement (bedroom/bathroom/den) flooded with groundwater during a period of heavy rain when the ground was hyper-saturated. I called my insurance company, and they recommended CRI, who I called immediately. That was well after midnight on a Sunday night, and they promptly dispatched a crew to start getting things dried out. They got all of my furniture moved to safety and elevated onto blocks, determined the scope of the problem (close to 2/3rds of the 800 sq. ft. basement) and ran equipment in to start extracting the water. They put down plastic runners to protect the carpet upstairs, and were very careful to minimize the impact to the rest of the house. By the time the job was complete, they had saved all of the downstairs carpet and pad by being able to react so quickly. They removed baseboards as needed to ensure that the drying was complete, and checked in daily on the nine big industrial fans and dehumidifier that they left running. Once things were bone-dry, they treated the carpet, replaced the baseboards, repainted the bathroom where some old wallpaper had to come down (I didn't like the wallpaper, so was happy to have a fresh clean coat of paint instead!), then cleaned the carpet thoroughly in the affected areas as well as in the ground-floor rooms that they'd been coming and going through. When they were finished, I think it was cleaner and in better shape than when I bought the house a year ago, and they were always thoroughly professional and very easy to work with. Since they worked directly with my insurance company, I only had to pay my deductible and everything else was paid directly by the insurance to CRI. They put a lock box on the door (like realtors use) so that they could come in and check the progress of the drying w/out my having to be there every time, which minimized the time I had to take off work, and they were very careful not to make a mess while coming and going. They also took time to explain to me exactly what all they were doing, and alleviated my concerns about mold by explaining the conditions required for mold growth and how getting started so quickly and drying thoroughly had avoided leaving the house in a state that could harbor mold. I would definitely use them again (and, in fact, am currently using them on an unrelated job).
Description of Work: Did emergency cleanup after a groundwater incursion in my finished basement, including protecting furniture from water by moving it and putting it up on blocks, extracted water from carpet, thoroughly dried the entire area, treated and replaced carpet and pad, replaced baseboards, repainted bathroom and repaired area where they'd had to gain access to dry under the stairs, then steam-cleaned the entire downstairs plus the rooms they'd come in and out through upstairs.
