Plumbing Heating Paramedics

All went well. They called &/or emailed promptly. Took a little longer for them to come out because they are so busy. Sent a young guy who looked like he was still in high school but he was professional and did a good job.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and they are awesome. They are always good. I have had them do numerous jobs. They are my favorite and are the best plumbers in town; I have been through a lot of them.

I thought they were professional and didn't give any hard sales tactics which I liked. I also like that they gave me 3 different options of what I could do.

The company did a good job even though the deal I purchased was not in their area. They are honest people.

We have been happy with them. The technicians are professional and quick to respond to our calls. We would recommend their services to anyone. The office staff is really good and the all the technicians have been wonderful.

The technician was on time and nice enough. He told me at the end of the appointment that I need a new furnace or I would be calling him sometime during the season because it died. I trusted him, so I had them come back to service the air conditioner in the spring. To be continued...

The same tech came who was here for the furnace in the winter. He said he was surprised that I didn't end up calling to tell him it had died. The air conditioner--the tech told me that the coils are cracked, the contacts are corroded, and the fan is blowing in the wrong direction--doom and gloom. The unit has never leaked, and did not need a charge (I had paid for a pound with the deal I purchased since it had been a while since any was added, but he did not use it), so how is it that the coil is cracked? Would it not leak then? No cracks are visible. When he put the capacitor back after checking things out, he must have put it back incorrectly. Once that was fixed, the fan started turning in the correct direction. A modern miracle! The contacts do wear over time and there is some burn, but still some shine as well--no doom there. The outside of the unit is still dirty--something that should have been cleaned with the service (he did clean the front, but not the other 3 sides). I understand that PHP does not have sales people, instead there is a tech who will just put a little fear into you--replace before it is too late! The fear will fester, and eventually you will get scared enough to replace it all. Replaced my hot water heater last summer and did a great job, so they are not all bad. I just won't use them again for the hvac. I will be requesting a refund for the service.

Young man was on time, curtious and professional. I led him to the crawl space entry, told him I'd leave him to the job and within 45 minutes he had replaced the piping that leaked and installed a new faucet outdoors! Every thing was done quite well, and no sales pressure nor unpleasantness! Quite a change from some others I had dealt with in the past! I will definitel use them again!

I was very impressed with Plumbing Heating Paramedics. Our air conditioner died a slow, painful death last week. It was 30 years old, so we knew it was time to purchase a new unit. I called 7 different companies and received 3 bids. On Friday evening, I left a message with Plumbing Heating Paramedics after hours service and Ryan, the company's president, called me personally 20 minutes later. As for the other company's I called, one referred to our job as a "major project" and didn't think they could help us. PHP arrived at 8:30 am and were finished by 5 pm. The technicians were very knowledgeable, professional and cleaned up afterwards! One company's "major project" is another's days work. I'm glad I did my homework. Based on all the bids I received, they are priced competitively. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

It went great. Randy was very curtious, professional, and knowledgeable. He kept his scheduled appointment, and provided us with a very reasonable estimate for the repair, as well as scheduled a time to return this week with another plumber to do the repair. We will gladly use this company again, and urge anyone looking for a plumber to use this locally owned and operated company.

I was given a 2 hour arrival window and the technician called when he was enroute to my home. He got right to work and had the faucets replaced very quickly and efficiently. The technician was very professional and polite. He introduced himself when he arrived and shook my hand when he finished the job. I was impressed!

My home's 10 year old central air conditioner was fast-failing. The compressor was essentially shot and the motor was drawing maximum amps and generating the power company maximum revenue. I purchased (timing was perfect) a Big Deal here on Angie's List for a new 16 Seer Heil central air conditioning unit at a very attractive price (I compared contractors and prices). The business day before the scheduled installation the owner, Ryan, dropped by to obtain critical measurements of my home's system. The two technicians arrived on time, immediately went to work and just a couple of minutes over two hours later they had completed the work. No mess....they put down runners and always wore paper booties inside my home. They removed the old system, installed the new, checked everything out, hauled away the debris and provided me a one year free home comfort service agreement. Everyone I came into contact with was polite, knowledgeable, personable, and skilled. I am most impressed with their products, service, price, punctuality, and professionalism. Clearly, I've become a fan of PHP.

Everything turned out well. The company responded quickly, the technician showed on time, and the work was done very well.

It was well done, professional, and timely. However, I was surprised at the cost.

We bought an Angie's List deal for an AC inspection plus freon though we did not need the freon. The Air Conditioning unit was new with the house 15 years ago and I prepared myself for a sales pitch for a new unit. He was on time, friendly, went right to work, and then told me the AC unit was in great shape and should last a few years longer. It was refreshing to know they are there to do a job and not try and sell you something you don't need. We will definitely use them again.

Called on Friday at 1 and told them that I needed a new capacitor and tried to give them the model number of my unit so they could be sure to bring the right one. They said they didn't need it, and wouldn't take it, because they have the parts on the trucks and diagnose on site. Set up appt for Saturday, tech take 5 minutes to open the outside unit and says that the capacitor needs to be replaced but that he doesn't have the part. He offers to string two of the wrong parts together to "make what we need", but I don't think that sounds like a real solution. He heads back to PHP and calls me to say they don't have the part and he needs to pick one up Monday morning when the supply store opens and he'll be back then. Monday morning have not heard anything by 11:30 so I call. People at office no nothing and say they will talk to him and get right back to me... 1:30 and still nobody calls back to I have to them again... they put me on hold and call him and he says he has the part and they try to set up a time between 6 and 8 to come back and install it. I tell them that I think they need to waive the service charge because of the hassel but they won't budge so I tell them not to come back. Ordered the part from Shorty's on the southside, delivered by FedEx the next morning for less than $40. 10 minutes to install and I'm done. So they give up $240 in profit because they won't waive the $69.99 service fee for the hassel. Lousy service, bad office staff, and silly business people.

It went well. They couldn’t fix the problem fully as it was a bigger problem than we anticipated. They were able to put a band-aid on a bigger issue, and were able to fix the leak that we were having. They sent one person out to do the job. The scheduling was pretty easy and they came out within a couple of hours once we called. They were very responsive.

Wonderful. They understood the importance of getting the heat back on and took the time to explain the process. We mentioned that we were planning on purchasing a new air conditioner this summer and they gave a great deal on upgrading the furnace an ac. Installation was quick. They were friendly and efficient. We recommended them to my father who had them out to upgrade his system as well. Only one small issue-their referral program. After referring my father we were told we would get a $75 credit. Have followed up and are still waiting. They noted that they recently moved office so hopeful it comes soon. All in all great service and wish we had used them to begin with!

Installed new home air conditioner/ heat pump, did a very good job! Once the new unit was in, they found the 24V transformer was bad. The techs would not leave until the air was working. They installed a temporary transformer and came back the next day to install the correct one. The techs that came out were friendly and very knowledgable. Price was super fair. These guys know what they are doing! Would definitely use them again. Ryan and Ron are a great team.

They were polite and professional over the phone. I was able to get a refund for the purchase. The price of the coupon was definitely worth it.

There were no troubles with scheduling. For what I wanted, he identified a problem and he fixed it. The price was good as well as his response. He was professional and did not waste any time.

I would never recommend them to anybody

Was introduced to the service through an Angie's List Big Deal. The deal included inspection, water heater flush, and $100 credit towards service. Plumber arrived on time, in fact 20+ minutes early. Neither he or his dispatch called prior to arrival, which I was told would happen by the scheduler. Luckily I was home, so it wasn't a problem - but it easily could have been. Plumber was affable enough, and said his company was the company that did work at the home of The Angie of Angie's List. We decided to purchase into their customer program - flat fee for the year includes quarterly water heater flushes, and an A/C inspection as well as a furnace tune-up, and a 10% discount on services. That deal seemed comparable to going rates, or at least rates that you'd find on an AL Big Deal. I feel like their service prices match what I've seen from one of their more expensive competitors. The $230 spent above is in addition to the $90 I'd already spent on the Big Deal, with a 10% discount, and after the $100 service credit. I thought the cost was especially pricey considering that the garbage disposal fix literally involved the plumber hitting the reset button on the bottom of the disposal (which my husband and I didn't know existed), and which the plumber accomplished in less than 2 minutes. Seems like - rather than charge $90 for that - he could've just told me what to do since he was already collecting a nice chunk of change that day. The repair work on the faucet has held up. As a result of the inspection, it was recommended that we spend about $2,300 on upgrades to our water heater and adding a water softener. The plumber left our house as tidy as he found it, and was professional. No one from the company has ever phoned to set up appointments for the "benefits" (water heater flush or A/C service) that come with their customer program we've joined. While this may not be a huge deal, when we've joined other company's programs like this, they always call at least once with a reminder to perform the already-paid-for services.
