Plumbing Heating Paramedics

Originally submitted 9/13/2012 with update below: Repairman had an attitude, not friendly at all. Acted like he didn't want to be here. Charged $100/hr. for extra time (I have gone back to the email of the offer and the fine print says $95/hr.). Paying someone $100 an hour to go parts shopping is ridiculous. Suggested he could check further for the faucet stem valve that was needed and that would also be billed at $100/hr. When leaving, handed out a brochure and tried to sell additional service (and/or water heater) because of high water pressure. Two good things: the person making the appointment was efficient and the repairman was on time. Overall, this was a very bad experience and I will be very careful about selecting similar offers from Angie's List in the future. ----------------------------- Update submitted 9.24.12: After discussing the first visit with the owner who called me, he said he'd send someone else out to look at the project. I really like the guy they sent out & the work was completed satisfactorily. This guy was great. I told the owner that if they came back out & the service was done right that I?d update the review to reflect the fix.

My rating does not reflect anything negative about the plumber who was sent out. Though I forget his name, he was patient, polite and professional. He wore the protective shoe cover things from the beginning. Perhaps my understanding/expectation of a whole house plumbing inspection was off, but I expected a more thorough inspection that would have included taking things apart, to a certain extent, to find the problem. I wasn't really told anything that I didn't already know for the most part. For several months, I have had low water pressure in my kitchen faucet, and without taking the faucet apart he could not accurately diagnose the issue. He speculated that there was a sediment build up, and that I either needed to replace my faucet, or it needed to be blown out. He gave me a quote for proposed work to fix the problem. My visit did not include the water heater drain. I was advised it was an old heater, and I should get another one soon, and as I recall - was advised that due to what he was sure would be a sediment build up, draining it might cause more problems. Whatever the issue, the water heater drain didn't happen. I described a concern with water coming in in certain areas of my basement, and was advised that 'yes, that happens in these old houses'. He pointed out a drain in the floor from which the water may be coming. I guess I expected more of a diagnosis as to where else the water may be coming from, and what might be contributing to it. My washer sometimes leaked, so I asked him to look at that. The washer (a stackable washer/dryer unit) was against the wall in a hallway. We ran the washer briefly, and of course, it didn't leak this time. The space was pretty tight, and he said that he couldn't move it out at this time. To do so, he would have to come back with an appliance mover (or something like that), and there would be an additional charge for that. Maybe this is what plumbing inspections are all about, but I came away thinking this wasn't a wise use of my $89.00. As far as hiring them in the future, they have lots of good reviews on their work and I would not rule out using them. I just would not get another plumbing inspection done.

They came out and worked on it and insisted that they had fixed it. They did do work on it. I still wasn’t comfortable that they had fixed it. I was right; I had to call someone else to do the work. The one who came out to do the work couldn’t say for sure if it was just coincidence or if they just didn’t fix it correctly.

Company arrived on time. The work was completed within the estimated time frame. There were no hidden costs or extra fees. The workers were professional and considerate.

After purchasing the promotion from Angie's list and calling the company to schedule an appointment, the work was done in a couple of days. The technician was knowledgeable and professional and finished the work in a timely manner. Even though there seemed to be some error in the way the promotion was advertised, it was honored with no problem.

He was on time, replaced faucet and it works beautifully.

The service provider was on time, a pleasure to work with and did a fine job in the allotted time.

Crawling under the house among the spiders, and possibly mice, is not my cup of tea. I was happy to find someone who would do that task for me, and who also knew what he was looking at when he got down there. Every time we run the dishwasher, our pipes have been banging for several weeks. Concern about the effect of the banging on the pipe connections caused me to phone people who have worked for us before. These were those people. Especially after I saw they were offering an overall inspection at a reasonable price. I knew of their reliability, so was confident they would tell me exactly what I needed to have done to fix the things that need fixing. I now have a list to work from to begin the process as soon as some other tasks have been finished.

Was able to set up an estimate the same day I called and installation within the week. Very professional service from all employees I interacted with. Work was done efficiently and thoroughly. Service overall was outstanding. Would recommend this company for any plumbing services.

I had a lot of questions (I'm an engineer) and the owner tirelessly answered them all. Their price was favorable. The guys showed up 15 minutes early. They finished when they said they would. And you know how when you think to yourself, "If I were going to do this myself, I would do it like this...."? Well, that's how they did it! The installation is clean and professional, not just slap it in and on to the next job. Furthermore, there was a tiny little dent on the outside of the water heater. Before installing it, they made sure that I was ok with it. It did not affect the functionality and I probably would have not even noticed it, but I appreciated their honesty and that they gave me the option to object. I appreciated the price, the service, the attention to my concerns, the punctuality, their doing it right the first time and doing it well. I would most definitely hire these guys again. I feel like I have pretty high standards and contractors don't often meet those standards, but these guys certainly did.

They were very punctual and professional. They worked quickly even though there were more problems than we had originally known about. We have an older home with the original plumbing and they were very honest about the possibility of problems because of the age of the plumbing. There was two of them and one had to go get some parts, so the other one worked while he was gone. They worked almost 2 hours, more than the original deal I paid for, but I think there charge was very fair for the amount of work they did.

Purchased an Angies List Deal. Appointment was easy to obtain after calling. Worker showed up a little early but called prior to in order to make sure that was okay. Very respectful. Did a great job.

They showed up on time to provide quote. Did a great job of explaining options, cost, etc. I received quotes from several companies, and others were able to offer a lower price. BUT - I would definitely consider them for future work.

They came promptly and immediately diagnosed the problem and the nuance to how difficult it might be to get to our faucet components - we have a number of bathrooms and premium faucets that required special care. He was able to access the components without damaging or scratching anything and all faucets were fixed well. He was very professional and the job was well done. We are already working with them again on other projects and highly recommend their work.

They fixed the leaking valve as originally requested. When the technician was turning on the water heat and he realized the gas valve was cracked (we did not know this before). Due to the high replacement cost (over $400), I agreed to having him installing a new water heater. The water heater was installed within three hours and is runnning great.

End result, great. Young guy came to do work. He was a bit slow and had some trouble. He accidentally damaged my mom's counter top. I know he felt really badly. He spoke to his boss who asked about the possibility of repair. I researched Formica repair and did not want to go that route. Felt that it really needed to be replaced. It did take a while to make that happen. However, I learned that thisman's wife was seriously ill, and hevwas still upbeat and professional. He managed to find the matching materials and get the top replaced. I know that they actually lost money on the deal, but I never picked up on any attitude.

I thought they were thorough. They were on time, polite, professional, and courteous. They made good recomendations on ways to improve our plumbing for the future.

They were extremely professional, fairly priced, and the finished the job in only one day! I was more than impressed and would recommend them to others without hesitation. I trust them completely.

We scheduled PHP to replace the original kitchen faucets. Our plumber, Donny, called to let us know what time he would arrive andwas on time. The original faucet plumbing had rusted. Donny had invested about two hours to complete the job, but in the process,had scratched the stainless steel sink. We called PHP to come out and take a look. Ryan, the owner, agreed it should be replaced.We upgraded the sink, offered to pay for it and the final agreement was that Ryan would only accept half of the cost of the sink.From beginning to end, PHP was wonderful to work with and will be our plumbers going forward. I have already recommendedthem to my neighbors.

Plumber called before he arrived and showed up on time. All work was completed within 4 hours. Pricing was straightforward and was the same as I was quoted on the phone. I would not hesitate to use them for plumbing services in the future.

Arrived on time; neat, clean, friendly, professional. I explained the project and they went to work. The project was accomplished quickly and accurately. I was completely satisfied and would use Plumbing and Heating Paramedics again.
