air duct cleaning
+ -1 moreI will never use this company again. It's because of this company I became an Angie's List member. I don't want to be taken advantage of like this ever again.
Description of Work: I saw a coupon in mail for this company. Air Duct Cleaning for only $49.99. I was sold. My house was always dusty and I thought this would help. The two men came (three hours late) and started setting up and informed me I had mold in my furnace I was new mom and this scared me so I let them convince me that I need them to clean out my system right away. They then "cleaned" out the mold. I was happy. I was glad to be rid of the problem. However, that night my furnace stopped working. It's 20 degrees outside and I have a six month baby to worry about. I called the company and explained the tech must of knocked something out of place and to have him come take a look at the furnace. The man said "it's not our problem". I said it was too big of a coinquencidence that my furnace stopped working the VERY night that the men came and cleaned it. Again "not our problem". I told the guy I was going to report them and to give me his billing address- he wouldn't. He wouldn't give me any information. Turns out the phone number I called wasn't even in the phone book, google, nothing. It's a cell phone that probably came from a prepaid phone. My house is still dusty and I probably didn't have mold to begin with- I was so angry at myself for letting them take advantage of me like that! I became an Angie's List member shortly after this experience.

chimney sweep
+ -1 moreHe came in and did the job yesterday and told me to wait a half an hour before lighting any fires. I could then light the fireplace. At 7 am this morning, I lit a durflame log and the smoke rolled into the house. The vent was wide open. The white stone around the fireplace is now black. I called him back and he will not let me talk to the owner or supervisor. He said he was the office manager but he was very rude. This is Thursday and I have a house full of smoke and he said they could not come out until Monday. He claimed they did nothing wrong and that something must have fallen into the chimney. He will not send someone out now as he said he will not put me ahead of his customers.
