Turner Appliance

We've used them a couple of times over the years and been very happy with their work. The only problem with this experience is that they were scheduled to be here between 9am-11am and no one had arrived or called by 11am. When I called the office they just said the technician got held up at a previous job. I told them we would have appreciated a call to let us know he was running late. She checked and said he'd be there within an hour. About 30 minutes later he called to say he'd be there in about 20 minutes. Repair went fine, he was pleasant I just wish business owners would remember customers appreciate a call to let us know of any delay/change. I'm sure they would want customers to let them know if they won't be there for a scheduled appointment.

My washer started making a loud buzzing noise while I was doing laundry on Saturday morning. I called the company around 10:15 and asked if they could have someone come out on Saturday so I wouldn't have to take off from work to get the repair done. She said they could have someone out between 1:30 and 3:30 which was fine with me. She was very nice and when she asked how I had heard about them and I told her Angie's List, she said to be sure and get the coupon off the website. About 11:50 the repairman, Ryan, called wanting to know if he could come earlier because he was about 10 minutes away from my address. He arrived, listened to the noise and knew immediately what the problem was. He replaced the motor coupling and ran the washer through a cycle to be sure the problem was fixed. Took about 30 minutes in all. He was very polite and knowledgeable and told us the cost before making the repair. I will definitely call them again for repairs on large appliances.

I was very pleased with their work. The technician was very patient and thorough. I will be using them again in the future.

We checked the list for appliance repair and found Turner at the top of the list. We contacted them to come out to check a gas dryer that had been sitting for 14 years. We wanted to give it to our kids and wanted it checked before using it. Ryan was the teck sent and he did a great job making sure the dryer was still funtioning.

They came out and let us know that it wasn't hooked up properly and the wire had burnt through. They were able to fix it all up and mount it back in, it now works great. I would use them again.

They were very punctual. The service guy was very nice.

Everything went wonderful. No mess left to clean up. Microwave works as expected.

The inspection was fine, but things started going downhill when I requested a quote to replace my built-in stove and convert it from gas to electric. I never received a written estimate, and trying to get questions answered and basic information--like the model number for the replacement stove--is like pulling teeth. I had to call twice and wait several days for someone to get back with me to answer some questions, and it required a second call (and several more days) before they gave me the model number of the replacement stove. (The technician initially suggested that I simply go to one of the big box retailers and pick out my own stove for them to install.) Then it turned out that the model number was for a freestanding stove instead of a built-in. The technician blamed the office staff for the error (which is very unprofessional in my opinion) and said he would get a new estimate for a built-in and call me back. That was more than a week ago, and I'm still waiting for that return call.

Washer aggitator stopped working. Machine was making a terrible clicking noise but was not working. The technician from Turner turned on the washer and immediately knew what the problem was. He quickly took the front cover off the washer, removed the drive coupler (coupler that connects the motor to the aggitator, which was broken) and replaced it. Put everything back together and tested the washer. Worked perfectly.

The repair guys and company policies are very good; they gave us a break on the price of the compressor and did quick work once they got started. However, their phone answering service and ads leave a lot to be desired. The ads say same pricing for weekends, but that's not true, it only applies on Friday and Saturday (come on, ask anyone what days constitute a weekend!), and the ads say usually same-day service. We called first thing Sunday morning but nobody could come out until Monday. It was supposed to be 'first thing Monday', but they couldn't come until later in the morning. And though we gave them details about the refrigerator and what it was doing, they didn't have the right parts, and had to reschedule for Tuesday. That 'same-day service' left us with no refrigerator for two days.

Called them on Saturday and spoke with a nice lady there. She said they would have someone call me back later that day or perhaps on Monday. No one ever called.

It went well. They were able to come very quickly after I called. They also diagnosed and repaired the problem very quickly.

He was professional, it wasn't a long service call. He had suggestions to prevent the problem from happening again.

I have used this company for about four or five years now. I think they are a fine company. They are always careful, clean, considerate, and polite. They always leave an itemized bill. One time they came to my daughter's house to repair her dishwasher. She thought that she was probably going to have to buy a new one, but they figured out that she was just using the wrong sort of detergent, and that was causing all the problems.

I called Turner's and the lady noted our problem and said the repair man would be here the following day after lunch and that he would call as he was en route. He did that and arrived promptly. We explained the problem and he quickly diagnosed it as the timer. Went to his truck, retrieved and installed a new timer. Drier worked fine. He presented the bill, we wrote a check and he left. VERY pleasant person. Most helpful and fully explained what he was going to do and did it.

It took quite a while for the tech to figure it out; however, he did correct the problem (so far). The price was somewhat high for such a simple fix. They charge a service call charge and labor.

I have utilized Turner on several occasions and prior to this experience I was very satisfied. However, I was disappointed with their performance on this occasion. It took them 13 days to repair my dishwasher and even though this was during the Christmas holiday I think 13 days is unreasonable. Brian, my repairman, was always courteous though he did not call prior showing up like I was told would happen. Brian had to order a part and as opposed to calling me when the part was received I had to contact Turner. This occurred on two separate orders so I appreciate Brian's professionalism while at my home I also value strong communication and follow through. Turner should work to improve communications with their customer on the exact process and ensure that they follow through on what they say the process will be. If the technician is suppose to call prior to showing up at my door then please do so. If I am to be contacted when a part comes in please do so vs. me having to initiate the follow up appointment. Angie's List has several other highly rated appliance repair companies on their list and based upon my most recent experience with Turner I will utilize one of them the next time.

I did not have any work completed by this company because they did not return my calls.

They had to order a part and it took two weeks, but it wasn't their fault--it was a warranty issue on a washer we had bought. We were frustrated, but it was the manufacturer's fault, not theirs. They did set up a time to install the part but called and said the installer who had the part was sick so we had to wait. I found it odd that the individual installer had the parts at his home. However, once they had the part and the installer was coming out they installed it quickly and showed up right on time.

The company gave us an estimate. They came and looked at it and then ordered the part. Then came back again on a Saturday to install the piece into the stove. They were very courteous.

Very well. Jeff, the repairman arrived within the 2 hour window of time provided for both trips. The 2nd scheduled window was 4-6 pm which prevented my husband and I from having to miss work.

We called the company on Monday morning and a repairman arrived that afternoon at the time promised. The repairman diagnosed the problem in short amount of time, but did not have the part (a capacitor) needed to make the repair. They promised to order the part and return on Wednesday (two days later) after ordering the part. They returned with the part when promised and fixed the microwave, which is now operating fine. The final bill included a $10 Angie's List discount.

He came out, analyzed the problem and found it needed a new motor. I never actually got it fixed but was real happy with the guy that came out. He answered all my questions and I was happy with him.

This was not what I wanted to hear. However, I found his candor refreshing and honest and purchased another refrigerator from a different manufacturer. He did not try to sell me on a refurbished model or insist that it could be fixed. It was the best customer service that I have received in years. He arrived when he said he would and spent 20 minutes total of my time.

Clothes washer was leaking. I called at 9:15 am the next day, got an appointment 9:00 - 12:00, was told that an estimate on washers was often $88 (base to get to the door and 1/2 hour labor) to $150. Tech arrived at 12:30 (he did call at 11:30 to say he was running late). Tony did a diagnosis, left to get the part, replaced it and machine is performing. Tony was a professional and did the job.
