+ -1 moreThey came-out within an hours time after I called them. He also mentioned that we had a problem with our garbage disposal, and fixed it without charging us for it. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. He was extremely courteous and knew exactly what he was doing. He fixed both problems in no time!
Description of Work: He repaired our washer for us. The clamp had broken off of the hose, so he put a new clamp on.

+ -1 moreTurner came out quickly and diagnosed the problem. The technician said that he had to order a part and would return the next day. He did and everything seemed fine. The next day, we discovered that the freezer STILL wasn't freezing. It took three more visits (for a total of four attempts to repair it and five total visits to our home including the original diagnosis), several more parts, the removal and subsequent re-installation of our ice maker for the freezer to finally work again. Throughout the process, Turner was professional and communicated well. They also did all of the work for the originally quoted price, but five visits was too much for me. It was bad enough that on the day after the last visit our toddler asked her mom if they had to stay home to wait for the freezer repair man. So, overall, Turner gets a "C" for this. They did what they promised for the promised price, but it was MUCH, MUCH more of an ordeal than it should have been.
Description of Work: They repaired the freezer section of our broken less-than-three-year-old GE refrigerator/freezer.

+ -1 moreAfter 10 days and 5 service calls, my dishwasher still was not operating and I went to Lowes to pick up the 2 products last repair tech told me to get. I could not locate in the cleaning products or appliance area, so asked for assistance. Had 4 people looking for me and they had other items made by the same company he recommended, but not the specific products for dishwashers. So I wasted 1.25 - 1.5 hr. in that trip for nothing. I googled the items and found that the only local place that might carry them was appliance parts stores which of course, the repair tech would have had access to before he came to my house and there are not any close to me and they are only open Mon - Fri 8 - 5 pm at the max. hours open, and it was later than that when I came back from Lowes. So my next choice was to order on-line with best prices through Amazon, but shipping was different places and regular shipping cost over $16 for both. I had to wait until Wed. of the following week to receive the products and fortunately they did work and I have a working dishwasher after more than 2 weeks of waiting and a company that did not provide the service or products they should have.
Description of Work: First service call on 5/11, I explained in detail problem, plus had examples on counter of what it was doing to dishes. Insisted part had to be replaced. Ordered and returned to replace 5/13. I ran the dishwasher empty without adding rinse aid which he said was over-dispensing 3 times empty, then ran a load of dishes, still without adding any new rinse aid. Problem was even worse. Called again and he came back 17th,he said that was only thing that could cause that problem and I said that was unacceptable answer with already 3 trips and not working at all still. He called his supervisor who told him he had to clean out the built up rinse aid before it would work. I didn't want to take more time off and he said it was just a special commercial cleaner that runs through the cycle, so told him just to drop off at my front door and I would run it through myself. He did, I ran through cycle, plus 2 more cycles empty and still did not resolve problem. Called back and asked for mgr. and n/a, so he called back 3 hrs. later and did not even appologize for their lack of service and complained that it was costing him money to keep sending techs out. Sent a different guy out who found that one of the water distribution arms at top was catching in addition to other part that had been replaced, repaired without replacing part. Then told me that I would have to go to Lowe's and buy Glisten to actually clean the problem caused by previous part and then also use Finish hard water cleaner instead of just Cascade. This last call was on Fri. May 21, ten days after first service tech was there and I still did not have an operable dishwasher.

+ -1 moreCame to fix refrigerator. Installed a new motor for the compressor. Next night, the refrig stopped working. They came out next morning and advised it was the compressor that was broken, refunded $170 of the $220 charged. I had to buy new refrig, but they treated me fairly.

+ -1 moreWe were happy with the service that we got, because the service man that came out wasn't able to fix it the first time. He told us what part to order and we ordered the part. It came in from Bosch and it was the wrong one, and he felt bad about it and came back out without giving us another service charge and fixed the dryer for free. We were very happy with the quality of the work and the integrity of the company.
Description of Work: They came out and tried to fix our dryer. We wanted to save some money, so they told us what part we needed to order. We went ahead and did that and tried to fix it and it didn't work, so we called them back and they came back out and fixed the dryer. They did not give us another service charge.

+ -1 moreI really liked the ability to get an appointment and know when they were coming. They showed up on time every time. With the compactor, the repairman had to work at getting the motor out and putting the new one in. He had never done it before on a Viking compactor. But he kept at it and it works.
Description of Work: They actually came twice - once to my house in Indianpolis and to my lake house in Coatesville. At my Indpls. home they came to service my washing machine. It was leaving black marks on laundry and to look at my dryer which was squeaking. There was nothing wrong with either, but because my washer is an HE, he recommended using a specific cleaner in it. He had to charge me a service call. That has seemed to have taken care of the problem. I then called them to the lake house to look at my trash compactor. They had to replace the motor. It took a second call to get the motor and install it.

+ -1 moreThe work itself was fine, but i think I was overcharged. They replaced a part and charged $63 for it but when I called around I found out the part usually sells for $17.85. They charge a flat rate for the labor on that part and the charge was $80. I spoke with an owner, Rick, about the charge and he told me he would send me a check for a refund of $40.
Description of Work: My washing machine wasn't extracting all the water from my clothes during the cycle so I called them out.

+ -1 moreWe had the gas valve problem, they came out to verify it and order the parts, which were arrived in two days. They came out and installed the two burners in the oven and new gas valve. The technician showed me the burn holes in the old oven burners....definately needed replacing. The price came in about 40.00 under the estimate. I am very pleased.
Description of Work: We had a gas valve and burner problem, and since they were out less than a month ago with a related issue, they didn't charge us a service call.

+ -1 moreEric replaced the heating element in the dryer which was like a kit. He checked the inside of the dryer for lint. He also went outside to see if the dryer vent was blocked. I did not ask him to do that he just did it on his own as an additional courtesy. I called and got an appointment the next day. They called to see if they could come earlier and were finished by noon. I also got an Angie's List and senior discount.

Once I knew what the probIem was, I decided I could change out the part myself and save about $100. I paid him for the visit and diagnosis and he was fine with me deciding to do the work myself to save a couple of bucks.

We have had four technicians work at our home and all were courteous and proficient. The repair of our microwave resulted in several unintended problems but Turner stayed with it to our satisfaction. They made a very fair adjustment to the total repair price and we have a microwave that is now working fine.
Description of Work: We have used Turner for service on three appliances; refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. The first two were diagnostic only. The microwave we chose to repair.
