Turner Appliance

Initially, I was grateful. When Rob told me that the washer was prone to problems and that it would be a waste to have him fix it, I really appreciated his honesty. BUT I met a guy in the neighborhood who fixes appliances, and he told me he didn't think it should cost so much. He said the model wasn't the greatest but that it should still have some life in it. So I had him check it out. Well, the neighbor was here about five minutes. Unlike Rob, he actually removed the front cover, watched, and felt underneath. He dug around a bit and in a couple of minutes got back up and told me that the only problem was that the belt had slipped off! We started the washer, watched it to make sure the belt didn't slip off again, and now I am happily washing. If I had listened to Turner's advice, I would be out at least $800 for a new front-loading washer (which Rob recommended, and which I have to agree IS a smart choice). I am sure glad I waited! The moral: GET A SECOND OPINION!

Second time we have used Turner (forgot to report the first time). Called on Monday morning they showed up at 4 PM that same day. Technician did not have the part, but promised to be back the following day. Showed up as promised and on time. Would highly recommend Turner Appliances and would not hesitate to call for any more repairs.

We were pleased that they were able to come out the same day. It was a little more costly that I had expected-- $80 part, $65 labor and a $39.95 service charge for a job that took a little over an hour, but I haven't priced out other service providers to know if this was fair or not. In the end, we are just glad to have it fixed correctly and taken care of with one trip.

I called them on a Saturday and they were out on Monday afternoon. They called to confirm the morning of and again 20 minutes before arriving. The repair was completed quickly and everything was up and running in about an hour. The price was a bit expensive. The part itself cost $90 and even with the Angie's List discount, it ended up being over $200. That felt a little steep based on previous reports from this company.

They came out, took a look at my dryer and told me I didn't need to repair it and that I could just live with the noise. They didn't have to fix anything and the only thing I ended up paying for was the service call. In essence, they ended up saving me money with not having to have it repaired and they even let me use the $10 off Angie's List coupon.

Diagnosed the problem. Ordered the part and came back within two weeks to fix the problem.

I thought it was extremely nice of him to help us fix the problem so we wouldn't have to pay extra or wait for him to come back on Monday (and let the floor be ruined). He was friendly and professional and made sure we knew what to do.

They were prompt. He was very professional and seemed to know what he was doing. The job only took about 20 minutes and he had the needed part with him.

They gave me some advice, and were very efficient and helpful. I have nothing negative to say about my experience.

The service man arrived on time. He suggested that we might want to consider not repairing the dryer due to the high cost of the part and might want to purchase a new one. He recommended sears for a dryer. We chose to have this one repaired. It works great!

Our washing machine would not spin. Shawn came out on three successive visits to install first a timer, then a transmission and finally a new switch. With each visit the machine worked for a while then developed the same symptoms. Turner is responsive, reasonably priced, and honest in their diagnoses. Recently, our dryer quit. Shawn came out again and discovered that the dryer cannot be repaired. He did not charge us anything for the assessment and gave us some good advice on brands to look at as we shop for a new dryer. We have used Turner several times over the years and we would use them again tomorrow.

We have an oven that works half of the time. It was working when they showed up and they said it needed to be broken in order for them to fix it. They asked us to call them when the oven was working at the time.

Called Turner Appliance and they offered to have a repair person to my house that afternoon. Rob arrived at the scheduled time and diagnosed the problem as a probable bearing failure. When he took the front off the dryer, he found that a quarter had lodged between the drum and glides. He reassembled the dryer and tested it. It ran perfectly. Rob could have replaced the bearing and I wouldn't have known any better. As it was I was charged only for a service call and service time instead of the cost of a new part and the time required to install it.

They were very responsive. We called on one day and they were out the next morning.

This was a bargain because we though we were going to have to buy a new dish washer. He was courteous (covered his shoes).

Repairman immediately knew he was wrong. They called when part was delayed. Good job of installation. Repairman on time but did not call ahead.

We have used Angie's List a couple of time and we have found we have some security in calling the companies in her list. It's difficult to find honest, hard working companies on your own that can be trusted to do a good job.

Great. No extra charge for Saturday. Honest service people. On time. I like your service people.

We were leaving for vacation the next day and our dryer went out. The representative on the phone was very polite and worked us in the schedule the same day. The tech called on his way was very quick and polite as well. My wife felt very comfortable working with him.

Called to have a new seal put on refrigerator door since it was pulling away and not sealing properly. Technician stated there was no way to reattach seal to door. The whole door would have to be replaced. To save on the cost, he super-glued the seal to the door. So far it is holding fine. A pinhole leak had also popped up in the water line from our R-O system to the ice-maker. He cut that part of the hose off and reattached it to the refrigerator. My husband felt that a full charge should not have been made for the refrigerator door since the technician was not sure if it would work or not.

Polite and prompt. I recommend them. Keep up the good work ethic.
