Well, Brian was knowledgeable and friendly, he even stayed late one day so I could pick up my car. It took a couple visits due to it being a custom system for my acura. On my second visit to pick it up chad was there and he was very professional. Really overall a great experience.

They installed a remote starter on my mini van. Service was excellent. I'm sometimes on guard when going into a mechanic or service place as a woman, but I didn't feel at all like they were trying to take advantage or talk down to me. They were very respectful. They completed the install faster than I expected. I like the lifetime warranty too. I had mentioned that one of my kids said there was a problem with one of the cigarette lighters in my van. They checked it out for me as a courtesy. No charge! I like dealing with places like this that treat you like a person, not just a sale. I was chit chatting with them and started telling them about my travel trailer--never thinking they'd do work on a trailer. They offered to take a look and see if they could fix it for me. I was skeptical since I had gotten an expensive "repair" from one trailer place that didn't fix the leak in the slightest, and another $4000 quote from a trailer service company for restoration that was way more than I was willing to spend. They sealed all the seams on the trailer and actually did repair the roof leak (what a concept). Man, was I hot about my expensive repair (that wasn't a repair!) at the other place! For the restoration, they installed a brand new subfloor and new floor covering. The subfloor repair was more involved than I initially thought once they got into it. They showed me all the damage so I was aware of the extent of the necessary repairs. I was able to verify that all of the subfloor needed repair instead of just a small patch. But that floor was rock solid with no soft spots and absolutely no sag when they were done! My trailer is 13 years old. A solid floor is rare in an older trailer! The couch assembly in the slide-out had to be refitted due to some sagging over the years. They repaired that--including some upholstered panels--to where it looked brand new again. Their repair was tested with all the heavy & driving rains this spring, and it was finally dry as a bone every time!! And the best part was that the whole repair, restoration, and even the sealing and roof repair only cost me $1500 total--materials and labor! My other estimate was only for the restoration and didn't include the rerepair. My trailer looks new again! They were very fair, honest with me and did a great job at a good price. I will use them again!!!

The guys at Soundsational are awesome. They were able to remove my door panel and replace the factory speaker in 20 mins while I waited!! Exceptional service and very reasonable price! Will be going back to buy an amplifier and have a custom box built for my subwoofer.

Overall, I am satisfied with the service and product.
Description of Work: Had them install a car stereo/cd player/blutooth to replace a multi disc factory radio/cd player. The one in the car had a six disc magazine that would not eject cd's. Decided to go with single disc player and add blutooth capability. I also had them hook up the steering wheel controls. I feel their price was competitive. They were able to get the model I wanted and the installation seems to have gone well. There was a little delay in getting the unit (about 4 days), probably due to the holidays and weather.

They request my truck on Friday 11/9/2012 for as long as they could have it. I dropped off the truck. I called several hours later and the tech informed me it was going well. He requested that I leave my truck over the weekend and they would be finished with it by Monday. So I agreed. Monday comes and goes with no word. I call on Tuesday morning. Still working on it. I get a call around 2 pm on Tuesday. The tech is telling Brian the owner that the OnStar no longer will work. I referred Brian to our earlier conversation that I wanted everything to be perfect. he said we talked about Bluetooth and the Steer Wheel controls but we did not talk about my OnStar. This is absolutely a lie. We debate on what making everything perfect means. Which to me means making EVERYTHING work like it did before. So, finally, they agreed to hook up one of my factory speakers to the factory amp and it would be mounted under my front dash. The OnStar would run from it. OK. No problem. I get another call requesting that they have permission to (i know i am an idiotidiot for not stopping this now) cut holes in my band new doors for the tweeters. They assure me this will give me the premium sound i am looking for. I gave them permission. Finally, 5 days after leaving them the truck, I stop by after I leave the gym. Brian is not there but Chad the tech is. My truck is done. No one called me. We has pretty rude to me the whole time I was asking questions about the install. He told me to forget about the manual. Quote:"the best way to learn something like this is just to play around with it'. I take the truck. All sounds great. Awesome. For a day. The next day I run through the user set up and go through a setup screen. One of the screens has the LCD postioning calibration. I go through the wizard and start to have MAJOR problems. When you push on the LCD screen it at the very top it thinks it is being pushed about 1/2" lower. Everywhere else ont he LCD is pushing in the correct place though. Really weird. Problem is the control to get back to this calibration is in the top right corner of the screen so now when you push on it it thinks you are pushing 1/2" lower which just cause the next track to play. Ugh. I call Alpine tech help and they try to reset it and done some other stuff but nothing works. They say no problem. We will just send your dealer another one. they can install it and send this one back in. Cool that would be great. I call up the shop and Chad answers they phone. I explain the issue to him and he ask my why I was screwing with it anyways. Ok. at this point I am already very frustrated and this remark did NOT sit well. I tell him what the alpine tech told me. He said he would speak with Brian when he came in. No call back. I call them back. I asked Brian if he talked to Chad. Quote"Yeah, he said you were monkeying around with your stereo and screwed it up" At this point I am HOT. I own my own business and I can not imagine talking to a customer that way. We start to get into an argument immediately. He tells. me alpine is wrong they have to send in the radio and them put it back in and I would be without mine. I am fuming at this point. I call alpine back and tell them the situation. They tell me the shop is INCORRECT. they ask if it is an authorized dealer, asked for their name and number, sent an email to there sales representative and he is suppose to contact me today. If this wasn't' enough. My truck Bluetooth and radio Bluetooth start fighting with each other over whose doing what and now music is playing during phone conversations. I hear that my FACTORY TWEETERS THAT THEY LEFT INT HE TRUCK WERE STILL CONNECTED AND PLAYING!!!!!! They were so overpowering, i could not even hear the more expensive ones I bought which they installed way at the bottom of my door. They cut the holes so far down you can barely hear them. Then I realized my factory OnStar speaker is playing music too. This speaker has blown now. So when you try to use the hands free the person sounds all distorted. Finally, they broke a small plastic piece that goes under the seats, that goes around the track the seat slides on. It was just placed back to look like it was still on but in fact the piece that held it on had been broken. What is even more disturbing is that they shop had an excuse for every single issue. Nothing was their fault. They took no ownership of their job or any issues that arose from it. I would only recommend this place to my enemies. I took my truck to Audio Electronics. They had to tear out the installation and reinstall most of it. They were really understanding and I was not the first they had to repair from Soundational. I seriously doubt that I am the last. I do hope this review will make it less and less.
Description of Work: I hired Brian to replace the factory stereo in my 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. I brought him a quote from Car Toys on Castleton. He told me that they specced me a crap system and he could do much better for the same price. He sold me a set of high end Focal speakers and two Arc amps. We discussed that this was my first brand new vehicle and that I wanted everything to be done perfect. I was already spending $4 grand. I want it doen right. He said no problem.

Response from SOUNDSATIONAL AUDIO & VIDEO
I initially was contacted by Member when he asked us about quoting him for a stereo system. He told me that he had previously been dealing with both Audio Electronics and Ovation Car toys in Castleton. He told me that he had felt "ripped off" by Audio E's extremely high price quote and subsequently that was why he was first patronized Ovation and them later decided to patronize soundsational. Later, I found out from the lead installer at Ovation/Car toys (Chris), that Member had a large confrontation with their sales manager while dealing with them and had been asked to never patronize their establishment again. Member has gone so far as to call up a manfacturer and scream and direct profanity at one of our product reps from ARC Audio. When Member picked up his vehicle initially he was extremely happy with the way everything looked and sounded. When he decided to start adjusting screen calibration without knowing what he was doing was when the problems began. Member then in frustration called up and demanded we reimburce him for a new unit without even giving us the opportunity to look at his unit and see what was exactly wrong with it after he changed all his settings. Member was also EXTREMELY abusive to the staff here as well. I personally offered to check out member's vehicle and was declined. I even offered for him to take his truck to BestBuy and have it inspected at Soundsational's expense--but he even refused this option. I think this complaint is simply a case of both buyer's remourse as well as the case of a competitor getting an already emotional customer stirred up into an emotional frenzy. Soundsational has been in business for over 20 years in the area and at soundsational we strive to always give customers the best service. Sadly to say though, in some rare very cases their is no way to please some customers.

Very pleased from start to finish with the work performed at Soundsational! I wanted to get a remote starter installed for my wife's Civic. Brian presented different options for starters and is very knowledgeable about the electronics in Honda's and what security measures they use in different models and years. He described the additional module that was required and then went over how a Soundsational installation is different than some of the other vendors in the city (soldered connections vs. t-taps, etc) and explained the manufacturers warranty on the actual starter. I set the appointment up for two days later! The installation was done by the time promised and Brian spent time going over how to use the remote. This was my first experience with Soundsational and I am very pleased with their work!
