I remembered on the 25th that I did not to verify my appointment date. The day of the move on June 26th I was on pins and needles until they opened. I was told that my movers were on the way. My time started at 0800 they arrived 0838. I found out from reading the reviews that the time starts when they leave their premises not when they arrive at your home. They were courteous and professional. After showing them what needed to be done they immediately begin work. They were efficient with the time from start to finish. They worked hard trying to get my 92 inch sofa in my new house but because of how the door way was made they were unable to. We had to store it in the garage. I only had them to move my large items and my heavy boxes. The move was completed at 1030. My only complaint was the billing process. The 3 hours time includes travel from their office and return. Map Quest lists my old house as 8.61 miles away with a 13 minute travel time on the highway and 16 minutes on the street. My new house is listed as 11.13 miles and 14 minutes travel. I was charged 45 minutes for the return trip and 40 for the initial time. I put that I would use them again but only if the travel costs are explicit from the beginning. They charge $140 a hour. In my case a trip charge and mileage would of been cheaper.

The guys were wonderful!!! Very professional. We had Chris, Jeff and Brandon S. as our movers and we could have asked for better movers. We have used movers in the past and had a very bad experience. We were very pleased with how these 3 guys worked, they had everything loaded within 45 minutes and they took care of our things. Thank you, for restoring our faith in movers.

Our items were moved into our home. Things seem to go well until we found out that an item of importance was missing. The move was fine, but after searching through all of our boxes, something like that does not just get "lost" in the move. While we should have been more wary of keeping the specific item in a better place, we also shouldn't have to worry about anything being stolen by a multiple SSA winner. They should receive an F for this but until I speak with Jason, I will reserve judgement. If it turns up by the company, this review will be changed.

Everything went great. Used the Moving Deal for $350 for 3 hours plus $140 extra per hour after that. The guys were timely, friendly, worked hard, and took care of our stuff. Would use them again.

I've used other movers in the past, but a friend recommended Sherman Moving so I thought I'd give them a try. The truck actually arrived a little early and the guys were great. They said they were just there to work so whatever I needed, they'd do. And they did, moving all my stuff between my new house and a storage unit. They were polite, courteous and never complained. Great to work with!

I have used them again to pick up furniture from the store great to work with. They called me the day before to make sure we were ready to move it all back. They put the window comings back up for me. Love their work!

They did a great job. They charged me per hour. They were able to move some heavy pieces for me. When I use somebody, I stick with them especially when I don't have a problem. I can always guarantee them. I don't want somebody to come out and always take a smoke break. You care about who you're having in the house and who's moving your articles. You want it to be somebody whose trustworthy. I chose to work with them because I trust them. I got what I paid for. They worked me around in another job.

Sherman sent 2-trucks and 6-men to move my 4500 sq/ft home from a subdivision to my newly remodeled home out in the country. My wife and I had a lot of things boxed up and ready to go, so we didn't use the packing services much. We had a lot of large pieces of furniture (theatre seating, large china hutch's and entertainment center pieces) not to mention 3 bedroom furniture sets. Mat, Rob, Brian, Keven, Larry and Rob were super guys to work with. Their level of professionalism, courtesy and was well beyond anything I would have expected. Every step was taken to wrap pieces, pad and protect was made on every piece they moved. Every one of them worked consistently and efficiently, no stopping for a text, phone call or smoke break. I hope this is my last move, if I should have to again, I will certainly give them a call!

Estimate process went fine. They delivered on an estimate. It was just much higher and not as detailed as the company that we finally chose to go with for our move.

I honestly feel bad that I'm just now writing this review because the guys from Sherman Moving and Storage were wonderful and I should have given them a positive review immediately. I have had several negative experiences with moving companies in the past. As a result, I have become quite cynical and typically don't put much faith in any moving company's ability to do their job without incident. Case in point, I had an exceptionally bad experience with Here to There Movers a year earlier. During that move I had several pieces of furniture damaged, an entry way to our apartment was banged up, they couldn't even get our sofa up a flight of stairs (although two of my friends eventually did...without any damage), etc. On top of that, they overcharged me 45 minutes and refused to accept a groupon I had. That was probably the worst company I have ever hired for any service. Be warned!! However, Sherman Moving and Storage was a breath of fresh air...a completely different experience. They came to our apartment on time and started working immediately after we explained the plan. They worked at a very quick and steady pace and were extremely efficient. The guys were also very polite and respectful of our apartment and house, not just our items. During conversation, one of the things that impressed me the most was how long the guys had worked for Sherman Moving. One gentleman was new and had been working for them for less than 6 months, but the other two guys had been with Sherman for over 10 years. I was surprised to say the least. Moving is hard work, especially when you're doing it every day, and I suspected most people would have a short career in the moving industry and that turnover rates would be high. It says a lot about Sherman Moving as a company that they are able to retain people year after year, for decades even. By the end of the move, I was completely sold on Sherman Moving. I easily had the best moving experience ever with them and everything went incredibly smooth. Moving to a new place is stressful enough and it really makes a huge difference when you can trust a moving company to take care of at least that one aspect without any issues. Sherman Moving and Storage far exceeding my expectations. I had absolutely no damage from the move and the guys were done almost 45 minutes faster than I had anticipated. Now, they aren't the cheapest game in town. Here to There Movers was certainly less expensive for a similar move, but you get what you pay for and Sherman Moving and Storage is a bargain for the level of service they provide. You can certainly hire a company like Here to There and save some money but you're going to end up with damaged items and scuffed walls and poor customer service. Or you can pay a little more, hire a truly professional company like Sherman Moving and have one less thing to worry about. I promise you won't regret it. If I ever need to hire movers again, Sherman Moving and Storage is the only company I'll use. They have my business for life.

They arrived before the time I was told and I was actually not ready for them which is really unheard of in this day and age. I was very impressed with how they got started and moved along getting the apartment emptied. They told me I was very well prepared with all the packing I did so they did not have to do any additional work. I was moved and ready to unpack within 4.5 hours with nothing broken! I will use them again in the future.

We were very happy with their service. They weren't inexpensive, but they were very good. We felt the cost was justified.

Great experience with Sherman Moving! We had everything packed and disassembled for them to load and all went smoothly. My only gripe is that I didn't realize they start charging from the time they leave the warehouse in the morning, which added .5 hours ($70) to the bill. I purchased and used the Angie's List 3-hour deal, which is a nice offer and covered that travel time. Overall, great experience and highly recommended.

Their pricing was reasonable. They sent out three movers who completed the work in about three hours.

We haven’t moved yet, but we expect to use them by the end of May. We got confirmation emails form them on April 30. They were very organized in communicating with us. We have called with questions and they've been very good with that.

The movers were actually a few minutes early. They moved my daughter's belongings and furniture from her 2 bedroom upstairs apartment to a house a few miles away. Everything went smoothly. The employees are experts at packing and loading washers, dryers, and heavy furniture. After the move, they hooked up the washer and dryers correctly and reassembled the bed.

I was in contact with Jason and was VERY detailed in what was to be moved. I listed just about everything that was to be moved and what items would need to be disassembled to be moved. I listed what floor it was on and what floor it was going to. I was VERY CLEAR that I did not want anything damaged, that I wanted the men to take the time they needed to accomplish that goal, and I was fine with paying for the amount of time needed to accomplish that goal. Jason said he understood and it would not be a problem. The day of the move the men arrived on time. They were hard working and very courteous the entire day. They took a short break to eat the lunch I provided which they thanked me for repeatedly. All was going splendidly until I was told that they needed another truck. Would I mind if they finished the move the next day or another day? I was quite surprised by this because, as I said earlier, I could not have been more clear about what the job would entail. If Jason had informed me of this before the move, I would have been fine with it. He should have known. So I called Jason. He said he would send another truck with more men when they finished the job they were currently on. This did happen, but these men were very tired, understandably. Due to being tired and wanting to be done, they started to get sloppy. I told them they needed to take apart these large steel shelves before taking them to the basement. They said it'll be fine. Well, then came the crash. It wasn't fine, and they should have done it without me even saying it and certainly should have done it after I said to. So my newly painted walls needed some repair. There were a couple of small chunks of furniture lying around. I did find one of the late arrival movers upstairs talking on his cell phone. As soon as he saw me, he immediately hung up and got back to work. I would use them again but only for a smaller move. Jason should have known the time and amount of men and trucks needed. There is absolutely no excuse for his lack of attention to detail. Also, I would suggest having a cooler of bottled water available. I wish I had thought to do this.

Very friendly, punctual and professional. They worked very quickly but were careful with my belongings.

It went fine, however I would have preferred if they used a moving blanket around my furniture when moving on a dolly since some items had minor scratches on them from the move. There were 3 guys and they showed up early which ended up working out fine. However, my homeowner association does not allow moving before 9am and that's why I scheduled the move for 9am. We went ahead and started since the clock was ticking but I would prefer if they would have stayed with the original scheduled time. This is the second time I used Sherman in the past year and I have overall been pleased with the service and would recommend them to others.

We had Sherman Movers pack and move our stuff from Whitestown to Carmel. In this 30 min drive they broke 4 pieces of furniture and numerous bulbs.The staff was not friendly and one of the guys was rude. When i asked the guy to be more careful with my stuff he rudely replied that i was micro- managing. Although they did fix the broken pieces it took them 4 weeks against a promise of 2-3 weeks to get us our stuff after making numerous phone calls. Overall they were expensive and unprofessional and I will never recommend them for any moving needs.

The great experience started when I made the initial call to Sherman, asking details, pricing etc. The individual provided information requested, added information that I didn't know I needed, and was very helpful overall. Took time and never acted like she was rushed to get me off the line. Day of the move--they showed up on time, each of the guys introduced themselves, made eye contact and were very professional. I was concerned about paying by the hour, but these guys were very efficient, quickly assimilating what was to be moved, while other items stayed in the house. They rapidly loaded and were on their way to the delivery address where, again, they were efficient, and professionally completed their job. I was dreading this small move but with the efficiency and professionalism to the office staff and movers, it was very easy and compelted quickly.

They moved a piano from my house to a friend's apartment. Did it on a snowy day. Still showed up on time and were very careful with piano and my carpet!

.I liked the fact that Sherman uses only their own employees and doesn't hire casual labor to either load or unload. The 3 man crew was friendly, efficient and professional. I would say they exceeded our expectations. It only took them 3 hours to pack and load the items in Louisville. Nothing was damaged...they were obviously very experienced and well trained. The delivery also went very smoothly. I was pleased with the cost since they had to drive out of state to Louisville. The size of the truck was perfect for the furniture. It was a 26 ft truck and not a long semi trailer truck. They didn't have to schedule any other loads at the same time so only my parents load was on the truck. I will recommend this company to anyone looking for a mover. I would be comfortable using them based on both price and quality of the service

They did a great job loading everything and then unloading and unwrapping. My only complaint is that they did not tell me ahead of time that the time starts when the truck leaves their warehouse. I did end up with big scratch on the footboard of my bed but I am not 100% positive that it was not there before the move. I do highly recommend this team. I forget their name but they are brothers.
