Screens N Things

I had a lot of screens. He came out and took measurements. He was meticulous and he took his time. It's an old house and everything is completely squared. He did a great job. Everything fits the way it should fit. It's been two years, but they still look like brand new. He was wonderful. There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

excellent experience from the date of estimate to the completion. Shane responded promptly to my call. Gave me a fair estimate. I decided to have him also replace the screen door. Again fair esdtimate. He came at the expected time the next week and ;completed the door replacement and screen replacement. It looks great.

The work was a little more involved than anticipated, but he didn?t charge any extra. He was here for a few hours and the weather wasn?t very good, but he did a great job. He was a very nice man.

After one of our cats managed to poke his way out of a screen on our side porch, we contacted Shane to repair it and assess the porch for a full-redo with stronger screens. Shane went above and beyond to meet us afters hours to have a look. He first showed us in detail how the screens had originally been installed and how that method of stapling could lead to tearing/ripping over time (even at the paws of clawless 9 pound cat). We had mentioned we were expecting to have to replace the wood on the porch, but he told us honestly the wood looked fine and didn't need to be replaced. Moreover, he fixed up the area that had torn away from the staples free of charge and asked us to keep our eye on it while he prepared a bid for the remainder of the porch. So far, two weeks on, the area he fixed up as held up fine, so we'll likely just need to have Shane reinforce the existing screens with proper stapling rather than replacing everything. We really appreciated Shane's flexibility, willingness to come out after normal hours, honesty and knowledgeability. He's also a cool guy to boot! We definitely give him the thumbs up.

The owner is so busy it is hard to reach him on the phone. However, he replies quickly to emails and is flexible with his schedule, to work in customers who might not have flexible schedules. I would certainly have him out again if I need more screens repaired.

Despite difficulties with moving their office, Shane was diligent in getting the job done as soon as possible.

Prompt in returning call and setting up appointment. Courteous both on phone and in person. Pet resistant screen requested due to dogs and kids going in and out of porch; basement screen previously ruined by rodents in window well so pet resistant screen used there as well. Will definitely use again when need arises!

The level of professionalism was very good. If they were going to be late, they called and communicated that. The work was completed as promised, and they did a good job.

I emailed a request for an estimate. He came out that week while I was gone, and emailed me the estimate, which was accepted, then did the job that saturday. Everything was done within about 5 days.. He asked me to inspect the work to see if there was anything I was unhappy with or wanted more things done.. There was one panel I was concerned with not enough screen having been cut to fit the space (too close to the staples) so he happily redid it. These panels involved removing the wooden frames then reattaching them to new screening material. It was a better quality material than what had been originally on the gazebo, which would inhibit the pollen, leaves, etc. from sticking to them.. And the wooden frames didn't need repainting! He was great to work with!

Shane was responsive and professional. The installers did a great job and were quick and efficient.

Shane was fantastic. I called him on Thursday and he was out on Saturday. Very professional. He did a great job and we couldn't be happier with our new screens (and are able to open our windows again and enjoy the spring weather!) His website lists his standard prices for work, which I appreciated, so that we didn't have to schedule an appointment for a quote and then another for the actual work. His final bill was exactly what the website indicated (plus my Angie's List discount). I would definitely use him again and would highly recommend him to anyone needing screen repair.

Shane Johnson promptly returned my call and came out to provide an estimate. He listened to our desires and made numerous suggestions regarding the available options. He provided material samples and detailed estimates with schematics of various options. He promptly returned my calls and answered several additional questions. I obtained estimates from two other screen replacement companies and a remodling company. Screens N Things was very competitive on price. I ultimately decided to go with the remodeling company that I had first hand knowledge of since they had just refinished my basement in 2008. However I have every confidence that Screen N Things would also have done a great job. Shane was very professional, courteous, and responsive. I will definitely consider Screens N Things for future work.

I had the bottom rollers replaced on a patio screen door. The place where I had the work done did not do installations. I tried doing it myself but couldn't get the rollers seated correctly. I sent an e-mail to Shane and he wrote a detailed reply as to how I could do the job myself and save my money for his service call. His directions were exactly what I had done so I asked him to come by and we set an appointment. When he arrived he couldn't get the door in either. Upon analysis he determined that the upper rollers must have been replaced at the same time and they were approximately 1/8" too big. He said if I would replace them I could probably then do the job myself. He only asked $10.00 for this call. I went to the first store and exchanged the first set of top rollers. When I put the second set in I was able to put in the top rollers but only one of the bottom rollers. I didn't want to bend or break the bottom roller so I called Shane and we set another appointment. When he came out he determined the top rollers were the correct size but needed some minor adjustments which he did. The door then went in easily. He used some WD-40 to oil the channels and we've got a screen door which we can use again.

The repairs, service, and price where very good. The window screens are back in place and show no difference other than new screen material. I only had a small issue with clean up after the job was finished, some of the small pieces of screen where left in my driveway. I would have preferred if he asked to borrow a broom and did the pick up instead of my having to do the work. But this was a minor issue.

He did fine work but he also had me sign a form that forced me to send a report to Angies List to get the discount. Since I forgot to send in the report he charged me $35.00 for each time he came out which was three times. Right now I have a bill for approx. $100.00 just because I didn't file a report on Angies List.

Screens-n-Things did a very good job. Very responsive. I was able to get a lot of things done via email, such setting the appointment time and even selecting the new door.

Shane was very responsive and provided all needed details. The work was performed carefully and promptly. The entire transaction was very smooth. We would highly recommend Screens -n-Things.

Great. It looks very nice and the screen is a much better grade than what we originally had. They explained to me that the screen would never be stabilized properly with the way that it was originally placed in. Shane had his folks remove the old wood, reuse if they could, staple the mesh in place and add another piece of wood to disguise the stapling. Shane was also very good at keeping in contact with me as we were having to reschedule due to bad weather. I've already spoken with him concerning future jobs that I will call them for. Overall, excellent service!

The previous owner was a woodworker and had custom made a wooden screen door and garage entry door. When we were ready to replace them, Shane advised us that the doors were not standard. He was able to use standard doors on both as they reworked the door openings so that a standard sizes would fit.

Shane promptly called to set up an appointment to give a free estimate. He arrived on time, and quickly did an estimate. His price was fair, and he was very well organized. He gave me lots of information on his policies, his price match, his referral program and Angie's List discount. I received other estimates, but went with Screens N Things because of the positive experience during the estimate. Work was scheduled. Shane had to reschedule the original work date, but communication was very good, and they were able to come the next day. The workers were on time and did a great job. Very friendly. Shane came by that evening to do a walk through and to pick up payment. My only complaint is a few staples I found on the floor. (I have small children.) And there was a lot of dirt/dust to clean up. But, I guess that's to be expected. Overall very satisfied.
