Description of Work: We have contracted with Picasso for several years. They come each week during the summer months to cut the yard and trim. Our yard is very small and we have asked many times that they use a smaller mower so they don't tear up the lawn with their turns. They always use a large mower. But, the grass is cut and all is trimmed up and neat. The staff is friendly and courteous.

I did not see the work done, however, the service personnel did a great job getting every square foot aerated, working 17 trees, and perennial beds.
Description of Work: Lawn aeration. Picasso did a great job...including moving lawn furniture to complete the aeration, and resetting them, afterwards. Company was very customer satisfaction oriented.

At this point, the only reason I am with them is because they are reasonable. It was hard to just even get them at the time. I am not entirely thrilled with their service. I have had to call several times, there were several times that they did not show up. When I called, they will tell me that they would come out the next day. I should be told in advance if they are not going to come on Wednesday, and come on Thursday. Reliability is definitely an issue.
Description of Work: I have them come every two weeks to my house. They basically mow the lawn. I have used other services with them in the past.

Response from Picasso Lawn & Landscape
I'm not sure what this member is talking about. When you sign up with Picasso, depending on where you live, a mow day is given to you with the understanding that the day can change depending, on the weather for that week (i.e. if your service day is Wednesday and it rains on Monday your service day can move to Thursday). We have over 600 residential customers, and we do them in order. If we have multiable days of rain, we increase our man power to ensure the customer is serviced no more than 1 day after their original day. All this being said, up until this report, I had no idea this was an issue. It is a well known fact, that at Picasso,we'll do whatever necessary to make our customers happy.

See above. Also, they are providing the lawn service on a timely basis so I don't destroy it again! Very happy with their ongoing services.
Description of Work: I had done a real job on our lawn - used the incorrect weed killer and literally killed 85-90% of our grass. After checking Angie's List, I got quotes from three lawn service providors and Picasso was number three. Their quote, plus response in time, and their apparent knowledge of exactly what to do led me to select them. They also convinced me of the wisdom of having a lawn care company apply weed killer, fertilizer, etc., so that problem would never again occur. Well, this year our lawn is actually one of the very best looking lawns in our neighborhood and Picasso is doing all of the ongoing fertilizer, etc. They were on time, did a thorough job of getting rid of the weeds that came up after the grass died, and reseeding with straw to cover all that seed - in other words, we are thoroughly happy with the job they did and would heartily recommend them.

I don't normally write reviews, but felt I needed to give credit where credit is due. Timely, professional, and pleasant to do business with, I would confidently recommend Picasso to any family, friends, and associates. Thank you for the great job. I will definitely be calling if I need any services in the future.
Description of Work: I recently hired Picasso Lawn and Landscape to install a paver patio at the rear of my home. I can't express enough how happy I am with the finished product and the way the work was completed. From the beginning, everyone with the company I talked with was very polite and professional. The crew arrived on the scheduled day, and all the guys were respectful and professional, not to mention extremely hard working. There was a crew leader on the job at all times, and there was always a supervisor stopping by to check on the progress and to make sure I was happy. In addition, Danny Toon, the owner of Picasso even made time to stop by, introduce himself, and ask if I had any questions or comments on the project. I would highly recommend Picasso for any landscape project that you want to be done correctly and professionally.

We have used Picasso for about 1.5 years and we will likely use them in the future. We have been pleased with their work. They have stuck with their estimates, even when the projects ended up being larger than they expected. If there was ever a problem, they came back the same day that we called to fix the problem.
Description of Work: We have used Picasso in the past to clean gutters, mow the lawn, rake leaves, and lay down mulch. They were most recently to see us to mow the lawn.

I did not hire this company to cut my lawn. I hired another company who started work the week prior to this vendor showing up to cut. The company I hired came out and talked to me personally. We agreed on a day of the week/general time to cut so I can specifically make sure my dog would not be in the yard when they came to cut. I also specified on which side of the house I wanted them to enter the back yard based on ease of entry. Picasso showed up without permission on 5/5 (not the correct day of the week). They showed up before 7 am, which was very unreasonable. Because of all the rain we had and the fact that they entered the back yard on the wrong side of the property, they gave me *and my neighbor* a huge lawn job with the tires from the riding lawn mower. Because the lawn company I actually DID hire had only started a week prior, I assumed they were severaly messing up based on the conversation I had with them when I hired them and I planned to fire them. However when I called them they said that they had not been out to cut yet that week. I had **no idea who had cut my lawn**. In June I received an invoice for one cut in the month of May in the amount of $41 (for my small lawn) from Picasso. Mystery solved as far as who cut my lawn (but I still don't know why). I called on 6/8 and told the company I didn't hire them and had no intention to pay them for the work. I told them I would not bill them for the lawn job that my neighbor and I both had to repair. I got put on hold and I hung up after about 5 minutes. In July I received another invoice for the same thing. On 7/8 I talked to Angela and told her the same story I told a month earlier when I called. Angela said she would speak with someone else and have the error corrected or have someone call me. No one called. In August I received another invoice for the same thing, with a note that said sorry we damaged your property, but I should have notified them immediately when it happened. (remember at the time it happened, I had no idea who cut my grass - so who should be notified?) They told me I needed prior approval from them before I got my lawn repaired *the next time* but they took $20 off my bill. (Note that there will not be a 'next time'). I am not calling them any more. I am not paying this bill. I did not hire this company. Hopefully they will see this and remove me from their billing. Any future invoices will go in the trash. *** Update: Owner called and apologized and said that's not the way he usually does business. Offered free service for the inconvenience. Did not take him up on it, but thought it was an appropriate good will gesture under the circumstances.

I've been using them for just about three weeks. They have been doing a pretty good job. I have to make sure that they cut the grass low enough. The first time when they cut it, I couldn't tell that they had cut it at all. They had to come and tell me that they did cut the grass. They are good now. I think they are okay and we'll see that next week. They are quick. They clean up very nicely. I would use their services again in the future.

It wasn't until I got an email from Angie herself (allegedly) asking me to comment on this specific company that I decided to go ahead and relive the horror of this experience. I found them on Angie's List, they had an A rating. so I used them. Now I know to find someone with a LOT of reports. I didn't file a negative report against them because I used that as my bargaining card to get this all resolved. So I feel like I am going back on my promise, but if I don't post about my experience then other people will have the same experience I did, and will curse all the members who didn't post their true experience on the site, just like I did. I don't want to put them out of business. They all seem like perfectly fine people. I doubt my single report will make much of a difference. And I feel so guilty about all this that I had a hard time giving them an F. They had a good price and that was about it. Seeing "responsiveness" I had a visceral reaction and gave them the F. I hired them in the Fall of 2010 to pick up my leaves. I can't remember now how fast they came out. But when I got home, a 15-20 foot section of my yard that faces a major road had not been cleared. I called and was told that the workers must have thought it was the property line. And that they would take care of it on the second pick-up. If there was a way to indicate "ominous foreshadowing" when I write "second pick-up" I would do it. Granted, we had a very rainy November and December last year. What killed me is the total lack of communication. Because of that, I assumed they were never coming back, and we spent a rainy Sunday afternnoon raking leaves, something I was hoping to avoid for the rest of my life. Then the invoice came, for the full price of $175 (what I was quoted - you get what you pay for). I called and talked to the office person. I talked to her several times during December and January, maybe into February. The first few times, it was her giving messages to the owner. She kept telling me about her cool reminder system on her computer, that she'd be reminded every day until he called me. Except he didn't call me, ever. And her reminder system never seemed to work very well, to call me back to ask if he had called me. Finally, I started talking her because it was clear he would never call me back. I disputed paying the full amount since they never came back for the second pick-up. See, remember that "second pick-up." She had a really funny response. Ya see, they don't consider it to be two payments for two pick up. They get most of the leaves on the first pick up so you really are paying for that first pick up. I reminded her that they couldn't even get the first pick up right. I figured out that I should pay them $25 for the work they did, minus the $50 I had to pay to have the leaves hauled away because we missed the city pick up by one week and the regular trash guys would not pick them up. So I get another invoice. For the same amount. I called back. "Oh, the owner told me to take off $25 and that's what I did." I explained that the $25 was ALL I was going to pay. To tell you the truth, I got 2-3 more invoices that were wrong too, but now I can't remember what was wrong with them. But I called each time and kept getting the runaround. Mind you, the owner never called me back during all this. I would just receive an invoice after talking to the office person. Her and her reminder system. Toward the end, I started to get nasty, which for me is still pretty much Gomer Pyle on a good day. I said things like, "Listen, I am tired of dealing with this. I am not paying you any more than $25. Send me an invoice for that amount and you will get a check from me. Otherwise, I am posting a negative review on Angie's List." THEN I got a correct invoice. It was about that time that the owner called me. And offered to do my leaves for half off next season, $75. I told him I might use him because 1) I hate conflict and telling people no and 2) I had not had any better luck with other lawn companies. So I thought it best to keep him as an option, as bad as it was. Man, I wrote that check the day I got the invoice. I just wanted to be done with them and those dang phone calls telling me about the reminder system. Arrggghhhh! So there, that is my experience. I learned some things from the experience, and it's made me a better consumer and better able to use Angie's List to my benefit. Live and learn, sadly.

Hello, I am the "owner" the consumer is referring too. Although I cant attest to the fact that my "office person" told me about the consumers problems after his first call in. I can say that the first time I heard about the problem I took immediate action. After hearing the consumers problem, I offered him "FREE" services for the following year in hopes to wipe the bad taste out of his mouth. It is a well known fact that at Picasso, If you have any problems at all, we are willing to do what ever it takes to make it right. Although as a company we strive to be perfect, we realize mistakes sometimes happen. That being said, we can only do everything in our power to make it right. I would also like to reassure the Angie's List community that that the lack of communication the consumer is talking about is not typical. We are a reputable company and our number one goal is 100% customer satisfaction!

The work went well. Over all they came when they were supposed to and did a good to excellent job. The price seemed fair, but they insisted on mowing more often than I would have liked. On a couple of occasions I needed quotes or to discuss work I wanted done, and I had trouble getting their attention. I stopped using them (at least for now) because a young man in my neighborhood needs work and is able to do what I need at less cost to me. However he is very high maintenance and, once the schedule was established, Picasso simply came and did the work and sent me a monthly bill. I do miss that aspect of their service and may go back to them because of it.

After receiving the Angie's List report that Member was upset with our company, I immediately took action. After a little research, I found that Member had called for a spring clean-up estimate. My secretary had entered all her info but failed to get the estimate request into my hands. I can only assume this happen because on that day we were in the process of moving the location of our business. All this being said, I called Member and apologized for not responding to her request. I also assured her that this was not typical of our company. She accepted my apology and also gave me the opportunity to give her an estimate on organic fertilizer and lawn mowing. We agreed on a price and are going to move forward with both services. We look forward to doing a good job for her.

Our neighbors have this company cut their grass and recommended them to us. We contacted the company in June about having our lawn mowed on a weekly basis and were given a quote of $25 per week (small lot). This included trimming and then clearing the walkways and driveway. My husband and I felt the price quoted was reasonable. After a couple of weeks went buy I noticed that one of our down spouts was damaged as a result of the mower (i.e., the end was chewed up). When I first noticed it I was somewhat hesitant to contact the company, thinking this was probably a one-time thing as they had just started cutting our lawn and accidents do happen. Several weeks later, while pulling some weeds myself, I noticed that now several of our down spouts were chewed up and one of them was completely off. That's when I decided to discontinue the service. While the damage was minimal, we only have to replace a few end sections to several downspouts, I felt the company should have contacted me knowing that they were responsible for the damage and attempted to remedy the situation without my contacting them. I think it's only fair to expect that the company providing the service respect the homeowners property and care for it as if it were their own. When I telephoned to discontinue the service I had to leave a voicemail message and then had to follow-up the following week as no one returned my call. When I was able to speak with the office staff, they did not ask why I was discontinuing the service but did ask if we might consider contacting them in the fall regarding their snow plowing service. To the owner's credit, it wasn't an hour later after I had spoken with the office staff that he telephoned to inquire about my decision to discontinue service. I explained that given the damage to the down spouts I was electing to discontinue their service. He did offer to replace the down spouts; however, I said that wasn't necessary. I explained that I am extremely hesitant to have work done on or around the home by someone else as I am always afraid they will damage something. As for the service provided, the only thing I would say is they really need to sharpen the mower blades more frequently as it seemed to be very h****** the grass when they cut it. I would not hire this company again.

I responded to a flyer, where the price seemed to be close to what I would spend renting an aerator, yet a lot less trouble. Flyer was accurate. It was far too dry in September, said he'd be out sometime around the week of October 12, which he was. Very friendly, did a fine job, for the price he quoted in the flyer. We have had a wonderful experience with Picasso Landscape. The owners, Danny Toon and Jeff Flanery, and their crew are responsible, polite and happy to accommodate any request. We have also had them do both spring and fall clean-up, trim shrubbery, and mulch in the spring. We couldn't be happier with their services.
