+ -1 moreA man from Mr. Macdonald Broad Ripple Handyman Company came in on a Sunday for the job. It was unusual for anybody to even show up on a Sunday. He was on time. He was a very unusual person. He was just a real character. It was so much fun that we became friends in the end. He was just wonderful. He is an old man, about seventy-five years old. He looked at everything and told me that he wanted some money to buy the post for the mail box. He gave me back my $20 from the change I gave him. He bought the post and it didn’t have to be painted because it already had a very nice design on the outside. He was accompanied by a young helper boy who was just so sweet. He was very nice to the old man. They were having fun talking together and in the end they finished the job. They talked all the time and made little funny remarks. In the end they got out their video camera and took a picture of the mail box. He told me that this was his 91st mailbox installation and he had pictures of all of them. The whole thing was so funny; I was laughing all the time. The whole afternoon was very interesting and very funny. However he did an absolutely perfect job. I had my doubts when I saw him first because he was so old and it seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing. He was really nice. My whole experience was just wonderful. I would use him again if needed.
Description of Work: I used Mr. Macdonald Broad Ripple Handyman Company to get a mail box installed about a month ago.

+ 0 moreMr. MacDonald returned my calls promptly. He showed up at the appointed time to provide an estimate. His evaluation of the chimney was thorough, but he did not provide a written estimate. I did not hire Mr. MacDonald because his estimate was double that of 4 other estimates I received.
Description of Work: He repaired concrete caps and mortar joints on two stone chimneys.

+ -1 moreJob 1: Mr. MacDonald did a great job of replacing broken window panes in garage windows. Punctual & thorough. Job 2: Mr. MacDonald was called as a "second opinion" as another company recommended a $4000 chimney liner was required. Mr. MacDonald has been building chimneys for many years. He said we have two brick layers and all we needed was to keep it clean.
Description of Work: Job 1: Window pane replacement.($75.) Job 2: Inspected our chimney as a "second opinion". Confirmed that our chimney is in great shape.($50.)
