Merry Maids of Indianapolis

Altogether, they have been very punctual except for today. I would hire them again.

I DO NOT FEEL LIKE I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR OR THAT I GOT WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO. SHE SAID THEY WOULD DO ALL THE BASE BOARDS, THE CROWN MOLDING, VACUUM AND PICK UP ALL RUGS AND VACUUM THE BACK OF THE RUGS AND DUST EVERYTHING, ETC. THEY WERE ONLY HERE AN HOUR AND A HALF, AND THEY DID NOT DO THE 1/2 BATHROOM, LIFT ANY ITEMS ON TABLES TO DUST, AND WHEN THEY LEFT THE HOUSE STILL LOOKED DIRTY. WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME OUT ON THE PORCH AND TALKED ABOUT THEM CLEANING THE PORCH, VACUUMING AND FLUFFING THE FURNITURE, AND THEY DID NOT TOUCH THE PORCH AT ALL. MY KIDS GET DIRT ON THE BACK DOOR, WHICH IS PAINTED WITH A HIGH GLOSS AND I CLEAN THIS DOOR EVERYDAY, AND THEY DID NOT EVEN TOUCH THIS DOOR. I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO HAVE TO COME HOME AND DEAL WITH A DIRTY HOUSE BECAUSE AT THIS TIME I CANNOT CLEAN THE HOUSE MYSELF. I DO NOT WANT THEM BACK, I WOULD JUST LIKE TO HAVE MY MONEY BACK.

They did a great job of cleaning. I was very happy with the work performed. However, they were very expensive...$140 for 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, the kitchen, family room, and foyer.

They came early, which wasn't great, but they were very efficient and did excellent work. Everything felt clean. they got right to work, and seemed to have a good system. This was the first time I used them and was very happy. They were good with follow-up. I felt invited to criticize and suggest ways to fix things that were not properly done. I will definitely use them again. Their rates were very reasonable. I did not expect this from a larger company.

We used them for about six months. We were very pleased at first and after seeing the quality of their work go down over time we decided it was time to find someone else. They sent a different crew out for each cleaning and we never knew what the house was going to look like when they were finished.

The first few cleanings went very well. The team stayed for 1.5 hours or more and was very thorough. However, as the weeks went by, the cleanings were less and less detailed and sessions were more rushed. If I am not home, the cleanings are worse. Customer service is very good and when the maids miss something, I call and they send the team back out. However, I would prefer it if they did it right the first time. I canceled my service due to poor quality.

In general the cleaning work was mediocre and was extremely variable from week to week. Sometimes I did receive excellent work, but overall, I was not satisfied. I called the office several times to complain and never received a return phone call. Two weeks ago, I did receive a call from a "Quality Supervisor" as part of a routine survey. I aired my complaints and the supervisor promised to be on-site at my next cleaning. Well, no supervisor showed up! I purposely left some smudges, etc. on the kitchen counter and when I checked after cleaning, they were still there. I called Merry Maids to complain. Again no follow-up, so I continued to call until I got a live person. The response I got was, "you know how busy the spring can be, we're sorry". I canceled my service immediately. There was no indication of any remorse for losing a long term customer. I will never recommend Merry Maids to anyone because of the variability of service and lack of response to problems.

I used the Angie's List publication to find Merry Maids and had them out for an estimate. I was kind of taken aback by the price because of the size of my home. I don't have a lot of knick knacks piled up, and it is a fairly small home. Due to the expensive cost, I decided to use another company.

They leave a note to let you know what room they concentrated on. They are prompt and reliable. My mother even commented on how clean the floor was.

We have used Merry Maids in the past and have been very pleased with the results, but unfortunately this time it did not go so well. The woman assigned to our home arrived late, worked very slowly, and did not accomplish nearly enough for what we paid. The floors were cleaned, but we found piles of dust/dirt in the corners and swept under furniture. We ended up having to redo the kitchen and bathrooms just hours before our guests arrived. We were very disappointed knowing what a great job the last crew from Merry Maids did. We feel the quality of their staff is not very consistent, and we are not sure that we will use them again because of this. We called to complain and they did refund some of our money and offered an apology.

I used Merry Maids for about a year and a half; every three weeks. I chose them because I could use my credit card points for service gift certificates to help with cost. The overall experience was okay. The house was clean, but I always felt I was paying too much. I had to opt out of a couple of rooms in order to keep the price under $100, and it didn't include my wood floors which I did myself or added on as needed. I liked getting follow up messages from the ladies who were in my home. They were courteous and prompt. I stopped using them in May due to an proposed increase to $110. When I called to tell them why I wanted to leave, they didn't attempt to keep my business, they just said "OK." I interviewed four other services and all were lower cost and included my whole home. I am receiving comparable quality at a much more reasonable price.

The cleaners were pleasant. My initial cleaning (around $300) was fine. Subsequent every other week cleanings were not fine. From May to August, I pointed out several areas not done to satisfaction, both to the workers and the office. There was no follow through or notification to other staff. Most times, two cleaners were on site for barely an hour. This would have been fine if the job was done, but it wasn't. Baseboards, cabinet doors, and picture frames were among the items consistently missed. I would have been ok with just good on a kitchen and bathroom but not at $80. The follow through from my feedback was non existent.

Their work is fine. It's not perfect but is acceptable for our needs. I think they are a little expensive for what they do, but they are reliable.

Punctual arrival for appointment, courteous, thorough, gave tips to help with our own cleaning, no sales pressure, good follow-up without pressure also. Priced a bit high and we know someone looking for work so we didn't hire them, but would otherwise.

We schedule this in March for them to do the work on April 18. They came out and were on time. There were 2 people that came out, one was wet and one was dry. The wet lady cleaned the bathrooms and did a good job. The dry lady was to clean the house and did a lousy job. I mentioned to the lady and she said they would be here for 2 hours, I didn't think that was enough time for the amount of work I paid for. I called the office and let them know I did not feel it was what I had contracted to do. The supervisor came out and agreed. So they sent 2 more again. The supervisor came and pointed out what had been promised to me the first time. The supervisor worked with them for awhile. They made a sincere effort to get things straightened out. I was pleased with that. They did a superb job the second time.

Did a pretty good job. Cleaned all they were asked to do. Will have them again and hope they do the same quality work and same crew. They were here three hours (two people).

THE FIRST TIME THEY CAME OUT, THERE WAS A $70 CHARGE JUST TO COME OUT, PLUS $105 FEE TO CLEAN. THIS DID NOT INCLUDE ALL PARTS OF THE HOUSE, HOWEVER. TWO PEOPLE WERE HERE APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS AND THE PRICE SEEMS PRETTY HIGH FOR THE QUALITY OF WORK WE GOT.

I'VE NEVER HAD TROUBLE RESCHEDULING AS NEEDED. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM, IT IS ALWAYS CORRECTED IN A TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THEY NOTE ITEMS FROM ONE VISIT TO THE NEXT SO THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO REMIND THEM OF YOUR PREFERENCES.

IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TO GET A NEW PERSON JUST ABOUT EVERY TIME. THEY ARE INCONSISTENT AND THE DUSTING IS VERY BAD. THIS IS A LARGE HOUSE AND THEY SEND OUT TWO PEOPLE THAT ARE HERE FOR A LITTLE OVER ONE HOUR. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE TWO ROOMS SPECIAL TREATMENT AND I CANNOT TELL THAT THEY HAVE. THEY DO NOT MOVE THINGS TO DUST AND THEY MISS WHOLE AREAS.

OVERALL THEY DID A B+, A- JOB. WE HAD TO POINT OUT SOME THINGS THAT THEY MISSED AND THEY COMPLETED THEM. WE HAVE HAD THEM BACK TO DO WEEKLY CLEANINGS SINCE, FOR $100 PER WEEK. WE HOPE TO USE THE SAME CREW WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT, SO WE DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE TRAINING OVER AND OVER. IF THIS ARRANGEMENT STICKS, I DON'T SUSPECT THERE WILL BE A PROBLEM. THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB, BETTER THAN I CAN DO. I WAS SO PLEASED, I'VE ADDED THE UPSTAIRS TO BE CLEANED ALSO. NOTE: THERE WAS AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $70.00 FOR A FIRST TIME CLEANING, BUT THAT'S ONE-TIME ONLY.

I WAS VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE QUALITY AND CONSISTENCY OF THE SERVICE. THEY USED SOMETHING ON THE WOOD FLOORS WHICH LEFT THEM WITH A CLOUDY APPEARANCE. A SUPERVISOR DID COME OUT AND RECLEAN THEM, BUT IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL CLEANINGS TO COMPLETELY GET RID OF THIS. THE CLEANING IS VERY SLOPPY - FOR INSTANCE THIS WEEK THE KITCHEN WAS SUPPOSED TO GET ''SPECIAL TREATMENT'' AND THE FLOOR WASN'T MOPPED OR THE COOKTOP CLEANED. THERE ARE VISIBLE SMEARS ON FURNITURE AND GLASS TOPPED TABLES. WE ALSO HAD TO REMAKE THE BED WHICH WAS CHANGED WITHOUT EVEN TUCKING THE CORNERS IN. IT IS CLEAR THAT THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY DOING THE WORK HAVE NO PRIDE IN IT. THEY WERE VERY COLD WHEN I CALLED TO CANCEL SERVICE AND THEY ALSO MAKE IT INCONVENIENT TO GET YOUR HOUSE KEYS BACK. THEY WILL MEET YOU AT YOUR HOUSE OR YOU CAN PICK THEM UP AT THEIR OFFICE BETWEEN 9:00 AND 4:30 ONLY.

WHEN I CALLED TO CANCEL THEIR SERVICE, THEIR QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER CAME OUT AND VALIDATED THAT THE SPOT WOULD COME UP WITH JUST WATER AND WAS STILL THERE EVEN AFTER IT HAD DRIED. SHE APOLOGIZED FOR THE OVERSIGHT 3 TIMES. SHE ASKED FOR ONE MORE CHANCE TO DO A GOOD JOB. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE A REFUND OR FREE CLEANINGS, WHICH I BELIEVED I WAS ENTITLED TO SINCE THEY HAD NOT CLEANED MY FLOORS WITH SOAP AND WATER 3 TIMES. I FEEL THAT I WAS A VICTIM OF ONE OF THE WORST PROBLEMS WITH HIRING HOUSE CLEANERS. IF YOUR HOUSE LOOKS CLEAN THEY WILL JUST ''DUST'' OVER IT AND NOT ACTUALLY CLEAN WITH SOAP AND WATER, WHICH IS WHAT I AM PAYING FOR. THEY ONLY ACTUALLY APPLY SOAP AND WATER IF YOUR HOUSE IS VISIBLY DIRTY. THEY ASSUME YOU WON'T ACTUALLY CHECK TO MAKE SURE THEY DID THEIR JOB. I WOULDN'T GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE AFTER THE FIRST 3 BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO MONITOR PEOPLE THAT I AM ENTRUSTING ENOUGH TO ENTER MY HOME WHEN I'M NOT THERE. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED.

THEY ARE SO GREAT THEY CALL THE DAY BEFORE TO CONFIRM AND ALWAYS DO A SUPER JOB. WE HAVE TWO DOGS AND THERE IS NOT A DOG HAIR TO BE FOUND ON OUR FURNITURE AFTER THEY LEAVE. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH MERRY MAIDS HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO SEVERAL FRIENDS.

MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 4 MONTHS AND THEY CAME AND CLEANED EVERY OTHER WEEK DURING THIS TIME, IT WAS A BIG HELP FOR ME NOT HAVING TO COME HOME TO A DIRTY HOUSE EVERY DAY. THEY EVEN DONATED ONE OF THE CLEANINGS FOR ME.
