Description of Work: After application some weeds were immediately gone. In their place, creeping and crabgrass flourished. I called and explained the dilemma. They said the crabgrass could not be handled until thf following year, and would need a pre-emergent at the beginning of the season. This did not handle my creepng jenny problem. We didn't get enough rain last year, yet they continued their program. They over fertilized, leaving huge areas of my lawn (Especially the front yard) with dead grass , which still did not return. I fired them at the end of the season. My yard has never looked so stressed.

Description of Work: I used Kapps for almost two years before I had a problem. Last summer my yard began looking horrible and I called Kapps to find out why. They sent out a tech to look at things and was told it was due to lack of water. I began to water my lawn as instructed but my lawn got no better. I called Kapps several times and spoke with a representative and finally got them to be responsive and promise to send someone out again to look at the lawn and why it was deteriorating. During this time I withheld payment as I was not satisfied with their responsiveness or their service. Once the promise was made I submitted payment. The tech supposedly came out when we were not home after I instructed them that I wanted to meet personally. I called back again and told their representative that I needed to meet with someone personally. This was the second time I requested this. The tech called me again and I advised him it would have to be in the evening as I work during the day. He told me no problem and advised me he would check his schedule and call back.....he never called me back or returned my call. At this point it was pretty much fall and I do my own winterizing and over seeding. I had a balance of approx. $67 at that point that I refused to pay. I received a letter from Kapps in late November for the balance threatening collections. I went ahead and paid the balance just to be done figuring I would find a new company in the spring. I sent my payment directly to Kapps in mid December. By this time I guess they had sent the account to collections as I received a collection letter a few days after I sent the payment demanding payment. I disregarded the letter as I had already sent the payment like the letter advised. In January I discovered that the collection agency had placed an item on my PERFECT credit for $5.00 dropping my credit score considerably. I had sent the payment to Kapps and they had forwarded it to the agency less the $5. I would never recommend Kapps to anyone as they are unprofessional and really don't service your lawn correctly. Whenever I received a call trying to sell me additional services, when I questioned the person on the other line about what I was told by my tech, they disagreed or said the tech didn't know what they were talking about and that sales was there job not the tech so they were more informed and educated. I would never consider using them again. I spent quite a bit of money with them for them to assist in hurting my credit.
