They were fast (at our request) helped us find an economical solution to replace our existing carpet in order to put our house on the market. They asked good questions about the value of our home, the market it was in and had intelligent recommendations about what we should purchase without under or over buying. Moved furniture at $50 per room, removed and recycled existing carpet and cleaned up after themselves well. There were a couple of nicks in the door frames from moving furniture, but nothing major. They worked hard and finished the project in one day.
Description of Work: Replaced approx 1600 square feet of carpet so we could put our house on the market. Measured, estimated and installed within a week!
I had ICC quote the entire job of sales and installation. After hearing what they wanted to do - I decided to install it myself. The big turn off was the transition from existing tile to the new hardwood. They wanted to use plain T molding even though the materials are different heights. I was told it wa sno big deal since it is only about 1/8". Keep in mind that this is an 18' long transition and I walk across it daily - a very high traffic area. It needed to be custom made and they were not interested. They also wanted to caulk around the fireplace instead of installing baby threshold. I am on a slab so the floor had to be glued or floated. Gluing was an extra expense I did not want, but flaoting requires clearance - I did not want to look at caulking around my fireplace. I ended up making the custom transitions and baby threshold myself and a friend helped me install the flooring. It was not difficult, but it was physically demanding. I had a hard time walking for a few days! ICC also measured big - real big. They want to sell flooring so they measure big. I measured 425 sq ft. They measured 445 sq ft then you have to add in an extra 5% for scrap and then round up to the next even increment of boxes (makes sense). Well, I had 2 full boxes and 2 pieces left over. I can see 1 box and 2 pieces or half a box - you want to have extra, you don't want to run out! I called to reutn a box and I got the run around - I had to talk to my salesman, then he wasn;t in when he was supposed to be, then somebody else did not know how to do the return. I finally got my return - 10% restocking. I was OK with the restocking fee because it was a custom order, but it was THEIR measurement that caused me to over-order. I would buy material from them, but never have them install.

They did an excellent job. They were very efficient and knowledgeable. When they pulled up the old laminate flooring, the toilet had been leaking and the sub flooring was wet so they waited about a week for it to dry. It never really dried completely so they replaced the sub flooring. They did an excellent job and it ended up costing a bit more due to the new sub flooring that needed to be laid down. However, they were $200-$300 less than the other quotes I received.

ICC was recommended to me by two different people and they did not disappoint! Dave Little was a pleasure to work with. He was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He worked around my schedule to come to the house and measure, look at carpet samples, and install. He got me a great carpet for a good price. Although weather problems caused my carpet to be delivered late, his team of installers worked late into the night to get the job done. And the carpet looks great. I know it was a major factor in getting my house sold quickly in a tough real estate market. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Installed new carpet and pad, removed and disposed of old carpet and pad.
They were really, really excellent. They sent somebody from their management team out to check the work as it was being done, which we truly appreciated. We were happy and would use them again.

The process of selecting new carpet can be challenging. The key is having a great selection of samples from all the major manufactures and expert help in making the right decision. Whether you need tile, wood flooring or carpeting, ICC’s showroom is the place to go. They have a full line of samples in an uncluttered environment. The salespeople are both knowledgeable and professional. They will offer advice when asked and not pressure you into making a decision you might have to live with for the next 10 years. The removal of the existing carpet and the laying of the new carpet went very well. The crew showed up on time, carefully removed my furniture and installed the new carpet. A perfect ending to a perfect purchase.

I sent the following to Mr. LIttle, who assisted us on both visits to the store and told us he would be our point of contact through the installation process. "When John and I showed you the Angie’s List report from January 2009 that gave ICC a failing grade, you said you had not seen it before and you would look into it. After talking with you, we expected the carpet to be installed in an orderly manner, that is one room at a time, with the furniture moved accordingly. We explained to the installers when they arrived which rooms should be done first, and last. The very practical reason for our request was to allow us to put the completed rooms in order to provide the carpet installers with adequate space to put furniture they had to move. However, as in the Angie’s List report, one of the three installers had a minimal, at best, grasp of the English language, the others had less, or at least wanted us to think they could not understand us. Instead of proceeding as we had told them we wanted, the installers swarmed into the area to be recarpeted and 3 rooms were emptied immediately and the furniture jammed into a space far too small. For instance, upholstered chairs were upside down and laying on their sides on the floor. Drawers that had been removed from dressers were stacked with no regard for metal hardware that could harm other furniture, knobs, and the fragile state of old wood that could be easily cracked, scuffed, or chipped. No padding or packing material was used to cushion the furniture or the walls. I fully understand why the customers who complained to Angie’s List in January 2009, giving ICC Flooring a failing grade, did so. Speed is not the hallmark of a good carpet installation. I fully believe that if you continue to use installers who lack customer service skills, your company will continue to receive complaints, or at the very least not receive referrals from customers like us. If the carpet installation we experienced is the norm for ICC floors, you as their representative need to tell us the truth before the papers are signed. Another factor that did not make this a totally satisfactory experience was being told the carpet sample we had taken home and chosen was suddenly discontinued. I can’t help but question the business practices of the carpet industry that a prior notice of pending cancellation is not sent out so that customers are not disappointed as we were. As a result, we took a second or third choice carpet that may or may not be of a lesser quality, but is certainly less striking in appearance. Also, my main criteria was to have a carpet that did not show foot tracks and vacuum cleaner tracks. The carpet we received shows tracks. We have belonged to Angie’s List for several years. I tend to be complacent and accept poor service without reporting it and have not yet reported on our carpet purchase and installation to them. However, since is has been nearly 2 months and I am still disappointed with the overall process, I would like you to respond to my concerns." Mr. Little called when he received this and offered to replace the carpet if we were not satisfied with the carpet we purchased and reminded me that per the warranty we had 60 days to make that decision. He missed my point. I believe he was not up front with us about their carpet installation process and installers, even after we had brought a previous Angies' List complaint to his attention. He basically told me that no one else had complained, so my questions had to be suspect. He also said he had showed my report to his managers, but no one else has responed to us. I am not complaining about the quality of the installation, just about the poor quality of service received. If someone is carpeting an empty house or is able to move all of their furniture themselves, this company may work well for them.
Description of Work: We visited the store twice and were assisted by Dave Little. We took 2 sample boards home after the first visit to look at the colors in our house. We returned to the store 5 to 7 days later, and told Mr. Little what we wanted. When he called to place the order, he learned that the carpet style had been discontinued during the period when we had the samples at home, so we were out of luck with our first choice. He did then go through their showroom to find similar carpets. We chose one, but believe it was of a slightly lesser quality although it's very hard to compare carpets. He was in touch with us to keep us up to date on the status of the order and the carpet was installed when we wanted it done, based on other worik being done on our home. Our issues were with the installers who could communicate with us minimally and did not install the carpet one room at a time as we requested them to protect our furniture. We carpeted 5 rooms, a hall, and stairway. Furniture had to be moved before carpet could be installed and this was included in the contract and was included in the total cost. At first the installers balked about moving some of the furniture and we had to call the store to straighten out that issue.

Sean came out to give an estimate. Started work and had some significant issues with the contractors using our equipment, putting tools in their cases, and eating/drinking our food. The company took prompt action on this and replaced the contractors. Everything went smoothly except for the outcome of the wood color. Sean indicated that the wood on the stairs would match pretty closely to the existing wood on the main floor. I remember him saying this was easier to do than trying to match carpet on the stairs to the carpet in rooms on the second floor. ....that they match it really close. Well, when the specialist came out to seal the wood he indicated that the wood will never match closely to the existing wood....AND IT DOES NOT. I was extremely upset by this because I would not have gone this route if this was the case. The good news is that the company owner came out looked at it and apologized. He was willing to do a number of things for us to make it better. In the end he offered us a discount on the job. I was also impressed with the accountability taken by the sales rep employee...he did not get defensive at all. I would use this company again as a result of how they managed issues.

We got to know about them from the Indianapolis home show. We called them and other companies and ultimately from a price performance standpoint we thought they sounded the best. They had a client list that we were able to check on and we also got some other folks who spoke highly of their work, so we decided to choose them. We had them do the easiest part first and they did an excellent job on that, so we had them come back and do the rest. We probably will use their service again.

Visited ICC showroom after our basement sump pump failed and we needed to replace the carpet. Dan did a great job showing us options that might work. One option was a high grade vinyl floor that you would sware it is real wood if you didn't know better. We finally decided that this was the best option. The floor is installed and it is amazing. We love the product and ICC did an incredible job on installation. We had a small issue of transition from tile to this floor and ICC came up with a solution that I was satified. They have great attention to detail and great customer service. I would use them again for sure!!

We visited the ICC showroom and looked at wide variety of hard wood and engineered wood products. Dave Little, our sales rep, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We took several samples home. We choose a product and he gave a quote during their fall sale, but we were still undecided. We made our decision about a month later and he still honored the sale price. It took longer to schedule the installation than we would have liked, but the installers arrived on the agreed upon date, a Monday, and set to work. There was not enough product to complete the floor so more was ordered and the installation was completed on Friday. There some serious blemishes in the wood, and several cracked boards (more than twenty boards with cracks over an inch.) Many of these were replaced when the new boards were added, but the installers also erased the marks we had made on many of the boards without repairing them. Now it was Christmas time. After Christmas Dave, the ICC service manager, and a representative of the manufacturer, Sommerset, came to review the blemishes still in place to determine whether the floor should be replaced. After over two months the manufacturer determined there was not a problem with the boards in the flooring (how convenient for them) but did supply ICC with replacement boards - that doesn't exactly seem consistent. However, ICC did come out and replace all the damaged boards - all at no additional costs. In the end we do have a beautiful floor and ICC seemed to have done everything in their power to make the project go well. Their installers could have noticed many of the blemishes with just a cursory look at the boards before they installed them, but they did not. The service manager indicated that would add too much time to the installation process..

To make a VERY long story short. Back in October 2008, I Actually gave them a very poor review because of the sales person. While in search of a 2nd hand car purchase in January of this year, we happened across Cam H., the owner of ICC Floors. In conversation it came up about the poor review. He was well aware of the review and said....."PLEASE, let me make this up to you. That is not the way business is ever handled with us and I'd like the opportunity." Within 2 days, he came out to our home, checked everything out, took measurements, went back to office, had an estimate within a couple hours. Once we signed the contract, his crew was here within a couple days to begin work. I can't stress enough, what a wonderful, hardworking, courteous and professional crew we had to do the work. They all worked VERY long, hard days, while cleaning up the best they could. We even received a call of apology from the original salesperson. As I said in my last review.... she was very sweet & knowledgeable. I also stated in my lst review that other than the salesperson, I've heard wonderful things in regards to the company as a whole from friends and neighbors....and we all know....word of mouth advertising can be one of the best avenues!
Description of Work: We purchased a spec home back in 2000. We never really liked the carpet and ceramic tile that had already been installed in our new home. We wanted a warmer feel and look with hardwood flooring. They had to rip out all ceramic tile....which was a major job for sure! As the tile actually came out fairly easy, for ceramic tile which is never an easy chore. The cement that had been used was a different one than usual and they literally had to chip, chisel, grind, and sand their way to a smooth surface. Afterward, they needed to fill in holes that had gone into the floorboard, I hope I have correct terminology, and sand, then cover the whole floor with "luan" before laying the hardwood. Aside from the ceramic tile being the majority of our main floor, there were 3 rooms of carpet to be removed and replaced with luan and hardwood also.
