 + 1 moreDave came in the morning to give me an estimate. When I agreed to the cost, he said he would be able to do the work that same day. I hadn't bought the correct brackets to mount the ceiling fan in our plaster ceilings, so he went to Lowes to buy the correct bracket. He also had to saw through some of our ceiling in order to install the ceiling fan, so he made a pretty big mess. But, when he was done, he got out a broom and cleaned up after himself. He was very polite and explained to me how to use the remote with our ceiling fan. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan and replace a pendant light with a flush mount ceiling light

He cut the holes for the sink in my garage and I had to clean this up myself. He took his stuff out of the bathroom, but also left it a mess. I was not happy about this.
Description of Work: He put in a new bathroon counter top and installed two sinks and faucets. He also changed four shut off valves.

 + 1 moreJohn did a great job. He was punctual, friendly, and very efficient. The drywall cracks were taped and re-mudded (as they should have been done 8 years ago when our house was built), and finish sanded. The gaps on the stairwell and shower stall were caulked. John did his best to clean up as he finished each project, but there were some old drywall screws that my young children found on the floor of their bathroom. I was very pleased that John managed to finish the work (to my satisfaction, no less!) in one day. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Repaired corner cracks in drywall; installed faucet in half bath; repaired towel bars in 2 bathrooms; repaired gaps in shower stall and along stairwell.

Description of Work: Dryer vent had leaked causing the ceiling dry wall to mildew. They fixed the leak and insulated the pipe from the dry wall. Then they replaced the bad drywall and painted it to match.

 + 5 moreExcellent!!! Even though I had to pay twice for this work (my fault cause I did not use Angie's list in the beginning), I am so happy that he was able to fix everything. I have a peace of mind that for my future projects, if Rob from Handyman can fix it, I am definitely going to call Handyman first!
Description of Work: I had several projects, some unfinished, that needed to be completed. I also had some previous work that another person had done, who is NOT on Angie's list, that Handyman had to come behind and fix: 1) Redo plaster on ceiling near where attic ladder was installed. Previous person just put puddy on sloppy. Handyman Rob sanded the area smooth, put more thinner puddy, then painted. It looks so much better!! 2) Installed battery back up sump pump. 3) Rewire outdoor lamp post so that the eye sensor worked. The previous person I had wired the eye sensor wrong so that it did not work and it was blowing out my light bulbs. Rob rewired and tested within 15 minutes. 4) Previous person I had attempted to install ceiling fan with remote control but spend a day trying to figure out the remote. Rob rewired the fan correctly and had me test within 30 minutes. I am ready to finish off my guest room now! 5) Previous person installed a light/exhaust fan. I had a leak through the fan during heavy rain. Rob checked this, found a small pin hole area that may have been the problem, caulked this and around the base really good. Hopefully this will fix it. 6) Changed my outdoor lights on house.

The original quote was for $300 but they gave me $100 off as being an Angie's List member. Jim, the handyman, was fantastic. He was exactly on time and was just a great guy... He explained everything to me so that I understood what he was doing and had to do.
Description of Work: Had to have the attic ladder in my garage replaced as the old wood one was falling apart.

Although it was still under warranty, they would not give us our money back. We wanted our money back to hire someone else. They would only give us a credit for more painting. They did not honor the warranty until we threatened to report them to Angie's List.

Description of Work: We replaced the faucets on two sinks and also put new fixtures in a shower/tub. It was WORK! Jim Huntley did the work, it's looks great, and he was here almost all day to get it all done. There was even added work when he had to cut through the wall of the closet to get to the shower works. There were parts needed which should have been our responsibility to go get but since he was leaving for lunch he offered to go get them for us which was nice.

They all said they couldn't take any new work for 3 months and we were unsuccessful in even obtaining any estimates. Handyman had a guy out to give us an estimate within a couple of days of original call. The estimate gave us a list of supplies to purchase and we made an appointment date as soon as we had the supplies.
Description of Work: Installed 4 x 4 ceramic tiles in my kitchen as a backsplash.
