Handyman Connection of Carmel

It went very well. There was someone available to answer my phone call promptly. Appointments were available within a short amount of time. The handyman, Aaron, was on time and did a good job. A change order was necessary because the bath fan I'd bought didn't fit into the hole in the bathroom ceiling, and that area was not accessible from the attic. So he had to replace drywall and repaint the ceiling. He fit in an extra appointment the next day.

It went well. He called ahead and was very prompt. He left me a detailed quotation and there were no hidden costs. I was supposed to pick up the supplies for the fence myself, but when my SUV was in the shop, that wasn't possible. However, Ron volunteered to pick up the items for me and he even paid for them upfront on his own credit card and allowed me to reimburse him. He cleaned up my yard and removed trash. Frankly, the part of the fence that he repaired looks better than the rest of the fence that already existed.

Ron was on time and he was very professional. He told me how long it would take and when it could be done...He was on time and did a great job. I was so please, that if I need anything else done, I will request him....

He was excellent. I would use him again.

Ron had a great attitude and work ethic. He showed up exactly when he said he would and gave us a great estimate on the work. The work was performed in a professional and workman-like manner. I asked to be sure we would get him again when I call Handyman Connection.

The service was fine and they were fast. The price OK when compared to anyone else and the responsiveness was great since they gave me a time and date and they were here.

The work was completed as described and in a timely manner. I will not hesitate to call Handyman Connection when I need this type of service again.

Bought the $129 storm door install and contacted them to set up the install. Dave came out, looked at the storm door we'd purchased and our front door to make sure there would be no extra charges and did the install less than a week later, when we both agreed on a date. He did an outstanding job, and was a pleasure to work with. The job took over three hours and we felt we got a great deal for the price. Would definitely call them again for other jobs.

I had a good service with them. He was always on time and cleaned up when he was finished for the day.

I contacted them as a result of purchasing a Big Deal coupon for Deck Maintenance. They responded quickly & scheduled a worker to come in a couple of days. Although I mentioned the deck had not been stained or washed, the first worker who came told me he only did carpentry and would not do other work so they would have to get someone else; however the office promptly rescheduled for another worker to come 2 days later. Both workers arrived on time & called ahead to let me know they were on the way (the office also called the day ahead each time to remind me). The second worker, Ron Rayn did a thorough review of what needed to be done, & listened to what I would like to have fixed. They scheduled the job for within a week and it took 2 days to complete the work. He did everything we discussed, and even power washed a potting bench and the patio. The deck looks like new to me, and all the concerns I had about the placement of the original lattice panels were solved by his removing the old ones and replacing with a better size that provided privacy screening. I am extremely happy with the results and the overall experience.

I got them off the Angie’s list. Their quality was good and their pricing was fair. I would use them in the future if needed.

I thought his work was fine. The problem I’ve got is I’m comparing him to another guy who did such a great job.

I had an ongoing issue. They fixed something one time and it was a different issue. I was pleased with them. They were fabulous. I am going to use them again.

I sent an email request for service. Handyman Connection returned my call promptly on Monday morning. The woman I spoke to was very friendly and knowledgable. She set me up for an appointment tha worked around my schedule. She explained everything I needed to know upfront so there were no surprises. The appointment did have to get pushed back a few hours the day of the appointment but they gave me enough notice. On the day of the appointment they showed up on schedule and were very professional. The next day they returned and completed the job to my satisfaction.

I'd definitely recommend them. The price is good and it was a special they were running for a full days work. The guy was here at least 9 hours. He had to go to another place for an appointment to give an estimate so he did that then came back. He was here until 6 or 7p. The experience was fantastic and I'd definitely use them again.

I was very happy with him. He was very efficient. They arrived a few minutes early; he called to move up the appointment.

He showed up when he said he would and did a good job. He explained some areas that I was still going to have problems with and made me aware of some problems I didn't know about. He was very profession, neat in appearance and friendly. I will use them again. He also told me about the Angieslist discount of 10% since my work didn't qualify for the handyman for a day job that I had origionally called for.

I hesitated to write this report because my job was handled by three different handymen due to the first person having an illness, and I know that made the job more difficult. However, as time passes, it becomes more clear that none of the people who worked on my house did a quality job. The good: People showed up on time most days. The price I was quoted was very reasonable (it could be argued that part of the problem was that the estimate was too low for the job). All workers worked hard. The first two workers were pleasant and friendly. The bad: My subfloor was not leveled properly. Even after several repairs, it has high and low spots. Plastic was supposed to be rolled onto the ground in the crawlspace. I found after the subfloor was installed that a large portion was not covered because they ran out of plastic, and rather than get more, they just stopped. The walls are not level. They aren't terrible. But, if I wanted crooked walls, I would have built them. The distance between the ceiling rafters in the dormer seem random, at 12-16 inches, instead of having regular spacing. The stairs are not level at all. The variance is above code thresholds. The bay window is not level. We showed the contractor a picture of the corbels we wanted to support it, but the result is a very poor imitation sewed together with gutter screws. The ugly: The final person to work on my house was a supervisor of some sort. He constantly argued with me about the estimate, even though the work had already been agreed upon. He berated his partner constantly. He constantly talked about how good he was, and how terrible the previous workers were. But, his work did not live up to his own standards. The dormer and stairs did not pass inspection, but we never want him to come back, so I told him it passed and fixed the problems myself. The company and I have now come to a resolution for the issues. I am satisfied with the way they ended up handling the problem.

One man did the work and he did a great job. One wouldn't know it wasn't the original facing. He was on time, professional, pleasant and didn't take long completing the task. With the coupon, the pricing came to an A. Without the coupon, it was a B.

It was a lot of extensive work. The company was very good. The gentleman that came to do the estimate was very thorough. He ended up actually coming back to do the job. On a couple of occasions he had to call in his associates to help with relocating a drain because he didn't feel real comfortable with doing that so he had a plumber come in to do that. It was a very good experience. They worked with us. We made some changes along the way and they were very adaptable. It really looks nice. The price was reasonable.

Jeremy was originally scheduled to come out on 10/27, but had to reschedule due to a family emergency. He came to estimate the job on 11/1, and after we talked about what we wanted done, he gave me a parts listing and made an appointment to do the job the next week. When he arrived, he got right to work, and created a new attic access (our old access was a very small entry that was located very close to the eave, making it difficult to store anything in our attic) for our home. He also relocated the attic light for us. When he was finished, he reviewed all the work with me, and cleaned up very thoroughly behind himself. I would happily use Handyman Connection again.

We had a leaking toilet so we called Handyman Connection to come and fix the leak and the floor which had start sinking in around the toilet. When Damon Garner (representative from company) came out and started pulling up the floor he made an amazing discovery. Apparently the person who owned the house before us did not like to fix things properly so I guess he had had a leaking toilet when he was living in the house and instead of fixing it and the floor he would just add another piece of plywood and then set the toilet back down. Apparently he did this 3 times. There were four layers of plywood through the bathroom floor. Damon pulled them all up and then checked the basement to see how far the leak had gone. When he went in the basement he found that because of all the leaks through the years all the floor joices right under the bathroom were rotted beyond repair. So Damon replaced all the floor joices and even reinforced them for safety reasons. Then he made sure that the plywood was applied properly and then before he reattached the toilet he even laid the floor tiles out. Then he attached the toilet properly so it doesn't wobble and there is no leaking. He did not charge anymore money for the extra work of replacing and reinforcing the floor joices. He did all this work in only 2 days time. He started on 2/7/2012 and finished on 2/8/2012. My family will definitely hire his company again and we will make sure that we request Damon. He was very friendly and he walked my mother and brother through every step of the process he did so they could see all the damage and what needed to be done to fix it.

I had a 20+ year old kitchen cabinet that was slowly pulling apart under the weight of the dishes stored inside. I called Handyman connection and Ron Short responded promptly, as scheduled, the next morning. Ron quickly sized-up the problem and got to work with the repairs. The process took several hours and was completed to my satisfaction. The cabinet is now secure against the wall and seems to be holding up well. Ron was professional and cleaned-up well when the project was finished.
