It went perfectly. This was my front door, and I wanted the job done correctly. John Agee removed the rotted threshold, made a replacement, primed and painted and installed it. The job included removing and replacing an inner wooden door sweep that mounts on top of the threshold. I could have sworn I submitted this review at the time, because Mr. Agee did a great job. This doorway is exposed to morning sun, freezing and ice, so it was important to have everything done precisely and for the paint job to be a protective finish. This was an Angie's List Big Deal, so I bought 2 hrs. of carpentry for $79. But as Mr. Agee explained up front, an additional $150 was required because of the amount of time the job would take. I consider the job well worth it. It's now almost two years later and no problems have come to light.

Adam was the service provider on our project. He was always punctual and very professional. We ran into a number of problems with some of our materials from Lowes (vanity with a crooked door, scratched toilet), so that made the project take longer than expected, but Adam worked hard and still got the job done on time. He was willing to stay late the last evening to get it done. He was also very innovative when we had trouble fitting the vanity & sink. It all turned out great and we are very pleased with the results. I would recommend this company for similar jobs.

The service turned out good. He was on time, very professional, and helpful. I would use them again. I did not pay any additional charge other than the price of the big deal. For the price of the coupon, it was worth it.

Excellent. I always ask for John Agee, because he is excellent. Professional, does a GREAT job, and meticulous in his work. I highly recommend Handyman Connection especially if you can get John to do the work.

I thought they were good about coming out promptly. I didn't have to wait 3 weeks for them to come out. They were pretty prompt at being able to set up a time for the guy to come out.

Hank agreed to meet us at the Lowe's to help with the loading of the new door and to make sure we had the necessary (and correct) materials. He then followed me back to our house and helped unload the new door and gave us an overview of what he was planning to accomplish that day and the next (the job would take two days.) He completed removing and re-installing the downstairs door the first day. When he ran into an issue with the way the door had been originally installed (he wanted to make it more water-resistant), he called me in and we made some minor changes to the installation. He worked until early evening and left after letting us know what materials I would need to get for the second part of the project (the upstairs door). The second day, he arrived on time and immediately started working as we had discussed. When he was able to open the sub-floor and reveal the extent of the water damage, he confirmed what I would need to purchase and continued working while I went to pick up the necessary materials. When I returned with the materials, he retrieved them from my truck and went back to work (a much-appreciated service). Once he was fully convinced of the extent of the damage, he offered another alternative to the day's original plan. After listening to his suggestion, I agreed and he continued with the work. He completed the second part of the project around 8:00 PM, staying as late as needed to get the work finished. He put up some drywall to replace the water-damaged section and re-attached the trim around both doors. He commented that he had to make some door trim adjustments for replacement of the tile that had been pulled up and was concerned that the fit of the trim at the bottom of the door was not quite perfect--but I thought it was more than acceptable. My wife and I were both pleased with the quality of his work - he was exceptionally conscientious and detailed in his efforts. To sum up, he was on time, professional, courteous, and very skilled and knowledgeable. He cared about making his work much more than acceptable. We were both so impressed that we have already discussed bringing him back for additional work. We would not hesitate to hire him again, and we give him the highest possible recommendation.

Richard J. Pontobillo was the one assigned to come out and do the work around my home. The weeds, that he was suppose to cut back, he did part of them and then quit. On the deck, I wanted him to brush the stain on the deck, but instead he used a roller and it didn't soak into the places that it was suppose to. He charged me a transportation cost to go and pick up the window that needed to be replaced and for the motion censored light. The thing I'm most upset about, is that he didn't cut the weeds on the hill and I need other things done on the hill, like tree trimming, and it can't be done until the weeds are gone, so now I can't have that work done either. I asked him why he didn't finish cutting down the weeds and he said that he didn't calculate it right and found it too hard of work, so he couldn't do it. I asked him if he could send someone else out to do it, and he said no. Also, I'm going to have to have the deck stained again.

They came out multiple times to do the job. They were always on time. I had to call them back out because he didn't do some of the stuff in the contract that we drew up. he didn't paint everything that he was supposed to paint. It was really bad because it was like a touch up and they charged us $4,000 to just do that. He said $80-90 per hour. Those are ridiculous prices but we had to get the stuff done. He kept in contact with me but when he had finished, the work wasn't done to my expectations, to what we paid them. He had materials and was very professional.

They are a little overpriced but they are prompt and will respond quickly to requests.

It went great. The provider allowed plenty of time to get the job done but didn't really need that much time. He had it done, both awnings, in under an hour, I think it was. He basically dismantled each awning so that they would lay flat and left them by my back gate so I can set them out for heavy trash day. I had originally thought I was going to ask him to haul them away for me, but he suggested the dismantle idea so I could save some money on a haul-away charge. Also, thanks to an Angie's List discount coupon that I found for Handyman Connection in the Angie's List magazine, I got 10% off the $160 charge for a final cost of $144. Pretty good deal for a job that probably would have taken up a whole day for me - valuable time I didn't have to spare.

Although the work has not been completed yet, I wanted to provide feedback on the quote services performed by Mr. John Agee who was punctual, professional and trustworthy.

They were good. We are very happy with them. The young man who came out did the primer and then I did the painting. He did a good job.

They did a great job and I was very happy.

The quote was $475. They were fine. We ended up going with somebody else for that work. They responded to my phone call. I was actually having a hard time getting people to call me back as they are really busy right now. The guy that took my call was very professional on the phone and got somebody out within a week. The guy that came out seemed really nice. They are very responsive during a very busy time of the year.

Richard was really good. As he was re-routing the exhaust from an in-counter grill to the new vent hood over the oven, he removed the grill that we didn't want, and patched the hole it left. Really above and beyond. All the work he did was excellent, as has been all the work they have done for us in the past. Richard will be coming back to repair the windows in our turn-of-the-century home, as he has taken this type of window apart and reassembled it and knows how they work! Handyman Connection truly has a staff full of experts! My only wish, and I'm sure it's not really possible with a large company, is that you could get a quote and get the job done on the same day. As it is, you have to get an estimate first and then schedule the work. But it's a small inconvenience for such good work.

I feel like I overpaid and I shouldn't have done that but the work they did was adequate.

Ron Rayn is the man who did this work for us. He had done work for us in April. He found the leak in our toilet and took all floor boards down to the studs and repaired my floor. That is the reason I requested Ron to put down my floors. He is the best handyman we have ever dealt with. He went out of his way all the time for us. He didn't like the fitting that was put on a toilet that he didn't install so he went to Ace hardware to get a better fitting. He had already been here 9 hours but he wouldn't leave with that fitting on the toilet. He is very honest and tells you what will work and what won't. I always felt he was doing things for my best interest. I am very happy with Handyman Connection. I am glad I joined Angies List and found them. They have done other things for us and with good results. The girl in the office is very pleasant and did a great job of keeping me informed if there was going to be a delay. I only spoke to Craig once but he was very professional and accommodating. I will be calling them in a few weeks for someone to install a backsplash for us. I will be using them for anything that needs to be done in our house in the future. Great Company!

I thought I was having him come over to fix my door so I would be able to use my storm door. I had to wait 5 days and I still do not have my door fixed. I think it is false advertisement on their part.

Handyman Connection has been a dependable Company for us. We purchased our new house 2010. It was newly built from the ground up that same year.. We included a basement, but it was left unfinished for two years. Since we had used Handyman Connection for installing lights in some closets and a celling fan. We liked their price and their promptness. Now that they have done such great work on our basement, We are very pleased. Mr. Ron gave us a start date. which was the 7th through the 17th. The project was finished on time. Mr. Ron was here promptly at 8:AM. His work was very proficient. We furnished the material and he did the work. He cleaned up after each days work. He put down a floor cover to protect our floors. The afternoon of the 17th, Ron completed the job as promised.

They called me back the next day and said the earliest they could schedule me in for my small tile backsplash job was mid July. I used Trim Tek instead.

Because he did not have the tools necessary, he ended up doing a different job for us. I have had good experiences with them in the past.

Got a quote on a deck, and they were very upfront and honest about the cost and the process.

We needed a cabinet removed in order to fit a refrigerator in. I hired them because I was impressed with the contractor who came out to give me a quote and the price was fair. The contractor began the work and was scheduled to come back out the next day to finish the job. Unfortunately, I was notified by the office clerk who told me our contractor suffered a hand injury and would be off work for a week and that they could schedule someone else to come out or I could wait for the contractor John who began the work. I asked her if this new person would know where to pick up because I was comfortable with John and he knew exactly what I wanted done. She told me yes, that they had already spoken with John and assured me this new person would know what to do. I told her if not I would wait for John's recovery. Based on what she told me I rescheduled appointments at work and took off work. When the new guy arrived he asked to see the paperwork, which he said he could not read, he then said he did not have any of the needed material, and informed me that In order for them to proceed with the work, that our new refrigerator needed to be here in order to have exact measurements, even though I told him the cabinet was already removed there was no need to be concerned about the height, because once John removed the cabinet the opening was to the ceiling giving us plenty of room. He finally said he could not do the work, was sorry that the company sent him out blind. I contacted the office and spoke with the owner Craig who I felt was unprofessional with handling this inconvenience. I told him I was not happy, and was inconvenienced having wasted a day off work. Basically he told me this was John's fault, because the refrigerator needed to be there (even though a cabinet was not going back in above the frig). He was very sharp, rude and inconsiderate when I told him I wasted a day off work, basically with a sharpness, he ask "well what do you want me to do". Needless yo say John finally healed and came out to complete the work. Basically all that needed to be completed was putting the side molding back in place and painting. Clearly the office administrators of this project dropped the ball and as far as the owner..... Well It's like having a doctor with no bedside manners... Owner not professional therefore I will spend my money elsewhere

I got their name from a carpet installer because I had an issue with a squeaky floor. The person from Handyman Connection told me that these were all quick easy fixes that really didn't need to be done by him! We really appreciated his honesty. It's great that they have a whole crew so you can someone pretty quickly as well.

I used a $99 Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. He was great. He was really good. He was terrific and did a lot, a lot of work. They were fine. I had a water leak in the water supply line so in the basement underneath there was mush. The plumber who had to track it down cut the hole through the drywall in the ceiling and I had this guy come out for drywall. He did a great job. I couldn’t tell there was a patch.
