They said they would be here between 10-12. After a few phone calls, they arrived at 12:26. The coupon in the publication said they would do 3 rooms for $109. I couldn't read the small print of the coupon, but it turns out that they clean traffic areas only, and their idea of a room is much smaller than my rooms, so my family was classified as two rooms because it is 315 sq. feet. The spots have come back, but I am not interested in having them back to correct the problem. UPDATE: 5/13/09 They came out and re did what was wrong before. They did a good job. We appreciated them coming back again. They were willing to come back and do a much better job for us.

WHEN A CUSTOMER CALLS IN, OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP GOES OVER WHAT THE TRAFFIC AREAS ARE AND THE SIZES THAT ARE COVERED. WE CALLED THE MEMBER AT 10:00 TO SAY THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE LATE AND THAT WE WOULD BE THERE AT 12:00 TO 12:30. WHEN THE TECH ARRIVED AT YOUR HOME THE MEMBER SAID THEY WANTED WALL TO WALL CLEANING SO HE MEASURED THE ROOMS TO BE CLEANED AND GAVE THE PRICE. THEN THE MEMBER SAID THEY HAD THE COUPON FROM ANGIE’S LIST SO HE SHOWED YOU THE PRICE FOR TRAFFIC AREAS AND YOU CHOOSE TO GO WITH THE TRAFFIC AREA PRICE DUE TO THE COST. HE GAVE A DEEPER DISCOUNT COUPON DUE TO A PROBLEM THEY HAD WITH THE OTHER CARPET CLEANER THAT DIDN’T SHOW UP THE DAY BEFORE. WHEN HE WAS DONE HE SHOWED YOU THE TROUBLE AREAS THAT DIDN’T COME CLEANED I.E.: TRAFFIC AREAS IN HALL AND IN GREAT ROOM LIGHTENED BUT STILL HAD SHADOWS, SPOT IN MASTER BATH, AND SMALL DARK SPOTS UNDER TWO CHAIRS. WHEN HE WAS DONE YOU SHOOK HIS HAD AND THANKED HIM FOR THE JOB WELL DONE. WHEN WE FOLLOWED UP ON MONDAY YOUR WIFE WAS UPSET ABOUT THE GREAT ROOM SIZE OF 320 SQ FT WAS CONSIDER 2 AREAS. A ROOM IS 250 SQ FT OR SMALLER AND IT IS STATED THAT IN ALL OF OUR COUPONS AS WELL AS OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP GOING OVER THAT WHEN YOU BOOKED THE APPOINTMENT. WE DID OFFER TO CAME BACK TO TRY AGAIN TO REMOVE THE SPOT THAT WE TOLD YOU ABOUT ON THE DAY OF CLEANING BUT YOU SAID YOU DIDN’T WANT US TO COME BACK AND IF YOUR WIFE WANTED US TO, SHE WOULD CALL US. The company was kind and courteous. However, the young man/cleaner was late when he arrived he was frustrated and took it out on me. The cleaner then did not have time to clean entire proposed areas. The cleaner was rude to me on several instances while in my home. I asked him to please wear booties because it had snowed and was slushy and he tracked in as much dirt on my hardwood floors (that were just refinished) as possilble. The cleaner rudely told me he did not have booties but would not ear any of my socks over his but would wear my socks over his dirty boots (this was not a pleasant exchange). The young man was rude when I asked why the landing would be charged as a room when it was only 3 ft by 5.4 ft? he charged me double what I thought I was supposed to pay. Then when the young man left I purchased spot cleaner but he did not leave cleaning fluid I purchased?

I’M VERY SORRY FOR WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU ON THE DAY OF CLEANING. OUR TECHS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE BOOTIES IN THEIR TRUCKS BUT YOUR TECH WAS OUT OF THEM ON THAT DAY. IT WAS IN FEBRUARY AND COLD I WOULD NOT WANT MY TECH TO CLEAN IN HIS SOCKS THEN HAVING TO WORK THE REST OF THE DAY IN HIS WET FEET. THE SOLES OF OUR SHOES USUALLY ARE CLEAN DUE TO CLEANING IN THEM. THE HALL THAT WAS 35 SQ FT IS A CHARGEABLE ROOM AND WE NEVER STATED THAT HALLS ARE FREE. WE DID END UP CLEANING IT FOR FREE FOR YOU THIS TIME. I’M SORRY IF THE TECH WAS NOT PLEASANT TO YOU, I REPRIMANDED HIM ABOUT HOW HE REACTED TOWARDS YOU. THAT IS NOT HOW WE WANT OUR CUSTOMERS TREATED AND HE HAS BEEN TRAINED ON HOW TO TREAT OUR CUSTOMERS WITH THE UP MOST RESPECT. Overall he was fine. He wasn't thrilled that we had moved a couch out from where it was normally as the service is only for "traffic areas". We ended up having to move the couch back before he would clean.

I had put off getting the carpets cleaned for a family Thanksgiving get together. Called on Saturday and the cleaning was done on Monday. The technician first measured and quoted a price. The final price did not deviate from the quoted price. The technician was friendly and was quick to advise what he was doing and why. I was very pleased with the end result.

Horrible. No show. No apology. No work done.
Description of Work: I called and scheduled them to clean two sofas. They said it was going to be $250.00 per sofa. I said that I thought that was a little steep, but agreed because I had company coming. They were supposed to arrive between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. When I had not heard anything by 4:30 p.m., I called them and received the voicemail system. I called several times. I finally called the "emergency number" and spoke to Mr. Jones. He indicated initially that he couldn't find the order, then he found it and said that it had not made it to the guys that were supposed to do the job. I explained that I needed the sofas cleaned immediately as I had guests coming and asked if he could get someone there that evening. He said, "No." He said that the best he could do was the following afternoon. I told him that if I was going to use them that I needed someone first thing the next morning. He said he had to make some calls and that he would call me back. He did call back and told me that he would have someone here at 8:00 a.m. the next day. At 8:20, nobody was here and I called them only to find out that the guy answering the phone had no idea who I was. I told him that I no longer needed their services. About 20 minutes later, somebody showed up. I had already made other arrangements with another Chem Dry company that only charged me $90 per couch and was at my house by 10:15 a.m. that same day!!! The irony of all of this is that the owner never offered me a discount or any incentive to make this right and he was rather defensive when I called on the "emergency" line. I will never use this company or recommend it to anyone in the future.

WHEN YOU CALLED AT 4:30 THAT AFTERNOON, ALL OF OUR TECHS WERE ON A JOB, HEADING TO ONE (3:30 TO 5:30) JOB OR WERE ALREADY GONE FOR THE DAY. I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE YOU THE NEXT MORNING (8:00 TO 8:30) AFTER ASKING FOUR CUSTOMERS TO CHANGE THERE SCHEDULED TIME. THE TECH WAS TWO MINUTES FROM YOUR HOME WHEN YOU CALLED TO CANCEL. I DIDN’T HEAR ABOUT IT UNTIL TEN MINUTES WENT BY AND I HAD OUR TECH GO BACK TO YOUR HOUSE AND APOLOGIZE IN PERSON FOR NOT BEING THERE AT 8:00. HOWEVER, OUR TIME OF ARRIVAL IS ALWAYS A WINDOW I.E. 8:00 TO 8:30 DUE TO NOT KNOWING ABOUT THE TRAFFIC IN THE MORNING. AS FAR AS THE PRICE WE QUOTED YOU, THE DRY CLEANING PRICE WAS BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU TOLD US OVER THE PHONE. WE ALWAYS TEST THE UPHOLSTERY SO IF WE CAN CLEAN WITH WET WE DO, IT’S LESS EXPENSIVE FOR YOU (90.00 COUPON). AGAIN I'M SORRY FOR WHAT HAPPENED. I DID TELL YOUR TECH TO GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT BUT YOU NEVER GAVE US A CHANCE TO TELL YOU. WE DO WORK HARD TO KEEPING OUR SCHEDULED TIMES BUT UNFORTUNATELY THIS RARITY DID HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY DURING HIGH VOLUME CARPET CLEANING WEEKS LIKE THANKSGIVING. I was disappointed right from the start because when the guy showed up the quote was $100 more than I was quoted on the phone the day before. I was told a hallway would be under $20 but our hallway was counted as an area. There is a coupon on Angie's List for 3 rooms for $109 but they also counted our family room as 2 areas. We have had this cleaned before by an area steam cleaning company with a similar coupon and the family room was one area. Our family room is large but full of furniture, so the actual cleaning area is similar to a small bedroom where the furniture is pushed against the walls. In addition, there is a truck charge of $10 and I don't know how you clean without the truck so why isn't this included in the price. I asked and he said if gas prices stayed low he would lower it to $5.00, but I have the same question how do you clean without the truck so why isn't it included in the price. I felt tricked and I will not use this company again even though the cleaning job was nicely done.

HOWEVER, WITHOUT BEING IN YOUR HOME AND MEASURING IT WE HAVE ONLY OUR PAST EXPERIENCE TO GO FROM. I’M VERY SORRY THAT THE PRICE WAS HIGHER THAN YOU THOUGHT. THE $10 TRUCK FEE IS TO COVER SOME OF THE TRAVEL EXPENSE THAT WE HAVE BEEN INCURRING THIS YEAR. IT WAS INCREASED THIS YEAR FROM $5 TO $10 DUE TO THE INCREASED FUEL COST. The tech cleaned our two story house, plus one flight of stairs. For the above price, which costs a lot more than steam cleaning, they clean the traffic areas only. The tech used a black light to look for hidden pet stains and found some. He was honest that the solution might not remove them. Unfortunately, it temporarily made them worse, but the color faded within a few weeks. To be honest, we have builder grade carpet and I didn't expect it to turn out looking as good as it did after the cleaning. The tech was efficient and courteous. I like that the carpet dries quickly.

They tried the very best they could and tried all of the options to get the paint out. They did not charge me for the work because they were not able to remove it and made a good recommendation to a specialist company.
Description of Work: We had a painter that spilled paint on our carpet and they came out and they used solvent on a small area to see if it would come out and it would not budge and they recommended that I contact another carpet cleaning company to come out and see what they could do.

Our children were home with a babysitter one evening when the sitter heard giggling from upstairs (she had already put the girls to bed). She went upstairs to see what was going on and discovered that the girls had decided to each take a tube of toothpaste (one red, one green) and squirt the toothpaste on the light colored carpet the full length of the hall. Our sitter spent the next two hours trying to wash the toothpaste out of the carpet. I give our babysitter credit, she really tried to get the toothpaste out, but this was a job for a carpet cleaner. We called Chem Dry and explained our problem. On the phone, we were warned that it might not come up, but we were willing to give it a try. We had Chem Dry out and they were able to get all of the toothpaste out. Thanks! I'm sure we'll be telling this story for years to come.

Chem Dry by Kevin Jones was prompt, professional and cared about doing a good job.
Description of Work: I accidently left a faucet running and had water in the hallway. Shane and Jason arrived in 15 minutes and checked the entire home for any signs of water and found a few additional wet spots in a couple of closets. He set up the dehumidifier and fans. No water needed to be extracted. 48 hours later Shane returned and rechecked the previously wet areas to make sure they were dry. An associate also checked the crawl space and floor boards for any signs of wetness and fortunately there was not.

Within just a couple of hours of my phone call, two representatives were at my doorstep to begin their work. The did a fantastic job of extracting all of the water, making sure to get underneath our wall to wall carpet. They also removed the carpet pad as water could not be extracted from the pad. Additionally, upon beginning of the drying process, they removed the baseboards from my basement and drilled 1" holes in the base of the walls to promote airflow and drying of all effected areas. I was completely satisfied with their services, especially during a somewhat desperate time. I would recommend them based on my excellent experience.

They were on time. Explained the service in detail. Were very respectful of my furniture. Did a great job cleaning the carpeting. I've used this company several times and they are consistently excellent.

The original appointment was for 10am. The office called the day before and we changed the appointment to 8-8:30 arrival time. When the technician had not arrived by 9:15am, I called the office to check. They responded that the time was changed on the work order, but not in the system, and that the tech was on the way and should arrive by 9:30. He arrived at 9:50am. Not only did he not know that he was to move the furniture, he did not have any protective blocks to put under the furniture while the carpet was drying. Although the tech estimated my room to be about the size of 2 rooms, he would not allow me to use the Angie's List coupon and then overestimated the size of the room by 200 square feet. On top of that, the stated drying time is 1-2 hours, and my room took more than 2 DAYS to dry to the point that the furniture could be moved back in.

I'M SORRY FOR THE BAD EXPERIENCE, BUT WE WERE TRAINING A NEW CSR IN THE OFFICE AT THAT TIME AND THAT CAN BE CHALLENGING. I KNOW THAT IS AN EXCUSE BUT THAT'S THE REAL WORLD. BUT THE ANGIE'S LIST COUPON DOES STATE THAT IT IS TRAFFIC AREAS ONLY UP TO 250 SQ FT PER ROOM. I KNOW THAT THE CSR WENT OVER THAT ON THE PHONE BECAUSE SHE HAS TO FOLLOW A SCRIPT FOR 30 DAYS. THE FLOOR SOMETIMES FEELS COLD BUT ITS NORMALLY DRY IN 2 TO 3 HRS IN THE SUMMER DUE TO OUTSIDE HUMIDITY. PUTTING ALL THAT ASIDE YOUR CARPETS WERE CLEANED WELL DUE THE THE FACT OF A A IN QUALITY. I HOPE YOU WILL GIVE US ANOTHER TRY, I KNOW YOU'LL BE PLEASED. AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
