+ -1 moreGarage door backed into by exiting car, which damaged the garage door. Arrived to evaluate within 4 hours of initial call (could not get out of garage) and adjusted door so cars could exit. Door was replaced 2 days later; it took an extra day because weather was bad (the week it snowed). Very helpful on the phone and the serviceman who did the work was very helpful as well.

Description of Work: I had a garage door that would not open. I called this morning and they had a service man out by about 10:30. they replaced the broken part and made adjustments.

+ -1 moreI called BR Overhead Doors to schedule a repairman. The person I spoke with gave me several things to try before scheduling the visit. He wanted to be sure that this was not simply a matter of aligning the laser sensor and receiver boxes that hang on either side of the door. I called back after taking his suggestions and scheduled a repairman the next day.
Description of Work: One of my garage door openers stopped working unless I held the control button down. This was a pain as the button is inside the garage. The repairman arrived on time and determined a sensor needed to be replaced. Since the unit is more than 10 years old, he also took the time to explain my options with regard to repair versus moving to a new unit. I appreciated that guidance and opted for the repair. In addition to replacing the sensor, he also inspected and tuned up both openers.

+ -1 moreIt went well, the appointment was made for the same day and the techhnician arrived within the time frame promised, actually near the earlest time which was good as my car was inside. Costs were fully described and adhered to. The technician was careful and willing to work in less than ideal circumstances, as two cars were in the garage making access room for work very limited.
Description of Work: Garage Door would not open, technician came out and checked and found the problem was not the springs but in the rollers at the top. He installed new rollers, he also noticed the brackets securing the cables at the bottom of the door were rusted and in fragile condition. I authorized their replacement. I was warned that the springs could snap after adjustment and that could not be predicted. When I considered whether they should be replaced, I was advised to wait and see as there was no savings doing the work now versus when the need did actually arise. The company was able to come same day that I called, arriving approximate 3 hours later. This was important as my car was "trapped" in the garage. No pressure was used to do extra work.

They did not try to up sell us anything and described which would be the best door and why. I was not able to be home when it was installed and they allowed me to pay by credit card over the phone once the job was finished. They were friendly and efficient.

He explained everything that he was doing and showed me how to work the remotes, etc. He offered me a rebate coupon, a senior discount and even lubricated my door hinges and rollers. He pointed out the need for new weather stripping and said he would notify the company for an estimate. This company installed my door several years ago. I continue to be impressed with their thoughtful and professional work ethic. They definitely go beyond the job to satisfy the customer.

I gave Jim the go ahead and he scheduled his crew for the following Friday. They arrived on time a 8:30 am and the job was completed in three and one half hours as promised, including a complete clean up. We are very proud of our new garage door.
Description of Work: They removed and took away my old overhead garage door and installed a new double door including all mounting hardware.

+ -1 moreI really appreciated their honesty in making the recommendation. He easily could have tried to sell me an opener he carried on his service truck. In fact, he said that he could do that, but that I could also go to Sears (the source of the original opener) and get one for about half the price and install it myself. That is what I did and I am very happy (and my wife is talking to me again!) I would have no hesitation in calling BROD again because of the honesty and integrity I experienced in this encounter.
Description of Work: I had attempted to repair my overhead door by myself and ran into problems. I called Broad Ripple Overhead Door and they came out immediately. Their recommendation was that I replace the opener rather than try to fix it.

I had no idea how dangerous an old garage door could be. They were able to replace the door within a few days. It looks so much better than what was there, and so much safer. I hope I won't need service again for a long time but if I do, I will call them first.

The quote came in several hundred dollars lower from two other quotes I received. When I called to arrange for the doors to be installed, I was pleased to get on the list for the work to be completed in the next two days. The installer arrived on time and completed the job within a couple hours. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the products installed. I would highly recommend Broad Ripple Over-Head Doors and Openers!
