It was extremely busy in the store, however there were a bunch of sales people in the store who were able to point me in the right direction. I was pleased with the price of the item that I needed. I would use them again in the future.

My husband's bicycle had been stored outside for a year while he was overseas. For his birthday, I decided to get it fixed up and ready for him to ride again. I took it to BGI expecting to drop a huge amount of money, but they told me it basically just needed to be cleaned up. It cost much less than I had expected, and my husband was happy to have his bike back. I was so thrilled with their work that I bought my own bike (the first I'd had in 12 years) and have returned repeatedly for accessories and services. I have yet to be charged for any of the services issues I've brought to them. BGI is fantastic!

This was my first bicycle in 20 years. After doing a lot of preliminary research, I knew going in that I wanted a "comfort" or "hybrid" style bike. I explained my needs to their representative (Mark Finney) who was a great help. He spent at least 30-40 minutes going over the options and helping me to find just the right bike. He explained a number of features of this new generation of bicycles, and showed me the options available. I was able to take test rides on my top three choices. The BGI staff also went over basic care and use instructions, and helped me select an appropriate helmet and a few other items (bike lock, etc.). All of the staff that I encountered were cheerful, friendly, and very helpful... despite the fact that the place was extremely busy and chaotic. I will definitely work with them again in the future.

The staff didn't communicate very well to me or to each other about the rental process. My friend and I waited about 20 minutes for the bikes to be "checked out" by the mechanic. That's what we were told to do. Well, after 20 minutes we asked what the holdup was and they said, "Oh, the bikes are ready. They're just sitting here ready for you." On the trail, the kickstand (why would a mountain bike have a kickstand)? rubbed against the rear tire and the seat wouldn't stay up. It kept collapsing. When I brought the bike back at the end of the day and told them about the problems, the mechanic said, "Yeah, the kickstand will rub against the tire if it's not properly adjusted." OK, if he knows this why didn't he CORRECT IT before renting me the bike? Also, when returning the bikes we were told to wait for them to be "checked out" again. So again, we waited about 20 minutes and then asked what the holdup was and they said, "Oh, you're done." Overall, the experience of riding with friends was great, but I was unimpressed with BGI's service.

I brought the bike in to the 86th street store for the estimate. Although I had to wait a few minutes as it was a busy weekend, once I had a technician to work with, he was knowledgeable and gave me a good idea what they would do, what it would cost and how long it would take. I noticed that the shop seemed well-equipped and well-staffed. As I needed my bike for training prior to the ride, I had hoped to get it back within a few days. They were able to accommodate my needs, even a couple weeks before the ride when a lot of folks were having work done. They called when it was completed, on time. I picked up the bike and was pleased with the work they did. The bike rode well, was adjusted well and was even cleaned off.

They did not adjust the brakes and they were squealing so loud. I had to take them back and have them adjust them and that was disappointing that it was not taken care of when I took it in for the service. I should have taken it on a test drive before I brought it home.

No complaints. Everyone was very friendly and helpful in explaining how to use bicycle carrier.

Purchased new bicycle. Checked prices on line, confirmed availability of bike with manager by e-mail. Went to store on Sat. AM to see bike, they were very busy and I was not helped. Went home and e-mailed manager again as I didn't see bike I was interested in on display. Another person at store e-mailed me that evening apologizing that I wasn't helped that AM, they did still have the bike and would hold one for me until Tuesday. I went back Mon. AM, was promptly helped, tested and purchased the bike. I am very satisfied with how things turned out and with the bike. They also offer a free 30 day check-up with the purchase.

I was wanted them to fix my old one and I had to wait for a long time to get a call back from. The head office told me that they had placed an order for me but after time I called back and they had sent the motor to the wrong place. Then I was told that I could get that motor anymore. So I ended missing a sale to buy a new one. When I went in and explain the story to the salesmen he did give me the sale price. After I bought my new treadmill is amazed me that no one even said thank you and the manager was sitting right there.

It was a Sat. afternoon, a nice day, store and repair area were VERY busy. An employee came outside, unloaded the bike from my car trunk and took it inside to the service area. I watched and asked questions as a mechanic looked the bike over, ran the pedals, shifted gears, adjusted chain and guides. He took the time to explain that what I thought was broken really wasn't, took the bike outside, watched while I rode around the lot, and loaded it into my car for me.

The rep apologized for my experience and the information I was told and he wasn't even the one who told me. He said I'll fix your bike right up, and he did for $8.00. I looked around at bikes and he gave me no pressure assistance on a bike and even told me when that particular bike normally goes on sale. I will forever be their faithful customer.

They assembled the bike for me. They didn't try to steer me towards a more expensive bike. They just wanted me to get the bike that best suited me.

Great service, price quoted was just about price charged (had to charge for brake pads, totally understandable. I would use them again and again and recommend them to anyone.

We had the 100 mile tune up for the new bikes. I think they take plenty of time with you and they have a man who will properly fit the bike for you.

We took in both our "department store" bikes for a much needed tune up. I should preface this by saying the first place we went, which was closer to our home, told us they wouldn't service the bikes because they were not quality bikes! However, the staff at BGI was helpful and professional. Later in the day I received a call from them telling me that my bike had a problem that would cost alot to fix (probably as much as the original cost of the bike). He offered an alternative of donating the bike, which I did. They even called when the other bike was finished, which was definitely on time!! After talking with the sales person, he recommended a bike for me that fit my needs/wants and we ended up buying a $500 bike, as well as helmets, etc., because they took the time and cared enough to listen. We were so impressed with their knowledge and thoroughness.I love the bike and we will be back to buy one for my husband in the not too distant future. You have a found a loyal customer. Thanks.

I was there on a Saturday about 6 PM. There were 2 other people ahead of me. At this point, I thought that they could not keep up with the customers. But they picked up the pace. They were able to fix my sons' bike within 15 minutes. Plus, I like the hours that they offer service. No other bike shop has the hours like them.

Adam was very helpful and explained options and what we needed or didn't need.

I stopped by the Bicycle Garage to set up an appointment with the service department. One of the gentlemen servicing bikes had time to look at the problem immediately. He was very knowledgeable and never made me feel uncomfortable about my lack of personal knowledge on bicycle mechanics. He not only fixed the problems within a half hour, but didn't even charge me for the service. Needless to say the company just gained a new customer! I then purchased a quality bike carrier for my car and was surprised to see the same technician who serviced the bike had taken time to install the bike carrier.

Great customer service. They are quick to approach you when you enter the store. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. We didn't feel pressured to make a purchase decision and the repairs were fairly simple and quick. (Since it wasn't a big repair, they just did it quickly for me while I waited.)

they were very nice. They helped me pick out all the stuff I would need and adjusted the bike to fit me. Took the bike back for the free check up and was very happy with the fast service.

Very well. The staff was friendly and helpful. They tuned up my bike within the time scheduled and even cleaned it up. It ran much more smoothly and the brakes worked much better once I received it back from the shop.

The sales people are very helpful. They took the time to listen to what we wanted and they asked questions about how he would use the bike. They made sure it fit him correctly. Very helpful.

The shoes were fine but the man put the wrong type of screw on my clips. When I went to spinning class the clips wouldn't fit on the pedal so I had to leave and go back to BGI and ask them to do it right. They did and were nice about it, but it was a hassle.
