The owner, Dan Miller, came out to make an estimate on the same day that I contacted him. He arrived on time. He provided an estimate for the drywall work, plus an optional additional cost if they painted the wall that had water damage. I elected to do the painting myself and have D&S do only the drywall work. Actually Dan didn't provide an "estimate"; he provided a "quote"-- the final charge was exactly what he had quoted. An "estimate" implies that the end cost could be different. I prefer getting a "quote" like Dan provided. The gentleman who did most of the work (named Dan Fry) arrived on time and called me before arrival to let me know he was on his way. He was friendly and professional. Before starting any drywall work, he spent over an hour protecting furniture, woodwork, and flooring in the room by placing protective plastic and tarps over any area that might unintentionally get drywall mud or the popcorn ceiling over-spray on them. This was much appreciated. A second gentleman arrived mid-day to help for a few hours before he left for another job. Dan Miller also showed up mid-day for a while to check on progress and to make sure everything was proceeding to my satisfaction. The work started at 8:00 a.m. and was finished by around 4:00 p.m. The work was very well done. In the case of the cracks along the skylight molding, Dan Fry found that the molding had not been nailed down by the builder at the time of construction so it separated from the underlying wood rafters and cracked the drywall mud or tape (I'm not sure which).. Dan nailed it down properly so it won't happen again, then fixed the crack. So he not only fixed the obvious problem, he also did preventative work to avoid the problem occurring again sometime in the future. He also fixed one "nail pop" that he noticed in the ceiling by filling it with popcorn. This was a quick, easy fix, but it was not part of the original quote so I appreciated the extra "no-charge" effort. It was apparent that D&S cares about doing quality work rather than rushing and taking shortcuts to increase profit. All work was done to my satisfaction (and I am picky). Because of their extensive prep work and thorough cleanup at job completion, you could not tell they had been in the house except for the fact that the damaged drywall was now fixed. I am pleased with my experience with this company and recommend them.

I had cut a large hole in the kitchen ceiling to locate a water leak from the upstairs bathroom and to relocate a light fixture. I needed the whole patched and another spot repaired from some minor water damage. Dan arrived for the estimate right on time. He was very thorough and gave me some advice to make the finished job look good. They were able to start two days later. The job took 3 days. It would have taken 2 days, but on the second day, their compressor broke down and they couldn't get a new one there until the next day to texture the ceiling. Each day they covered everything and then took down the plastic and drop clothes at the end of each day. They were very neat and efficient and professional. When they were done, it looked like new. I am very happy with the job they did.

They were very good and we were very happy with them. The owner and his crew were very professional and very nice. They did a quality job in a good amount of time and the price was very fair.

Contacted company based on recommendation from Catz painting who was not accepting any more customers this summer. Called the number that Catz painting gave me, I probably should have looked up the official number as when I called it sounded like he was in his kitchen and it was hard to hear him because it sounded like someone was putting away pots and pans. I stated that I wanted to get an estimate for exterior house painting. Based on how the conversation went I think I caught him at a bad time as he seemed a bit snippy on the phone. For example he asked when the house was built, I said the 70's but I would have to look up the paper work to verify. I then stated that the house had been painted about 4 times, he said "that is not what I asked, was it built before 1978". After he said that I realized what he was getting at and was asking how old because houses built before 1978 "may" have lead paint. He proceeded to ask some other questions like did I have flaking paint and where I lived and I said Ft. Wayne because I knew D & S was from Hoagland. He said "I figured that, what part of town" I answered North East and he said that he would pass on the job because I did not know if the house had lead paint and that he basically did not want the hassle of dealing with lead paint. He then explained that the government is cracking down and if it turned out that the house had lead paint and he did not follow the proper methods that he could be fined $34,000. Based on this conversation I assume he was not certified to test for lead paint or just did not want to deal with houses that there might have lead paint. This is fine as it is his prerogative as a business owner to pick and choose the jobs he want and I do not have a problem with that I just think he could have handled it better.

The owner kept checking on the people who were working for him and they were very pleasant while they were at my home. They were careful.

Excellent. Dan was very immediately responsive, scheduled the work in a timely way, was here exactly when he promised and was finished just when he predicted. Very professional workers and Dan on site daily to check on project. This is the second time I have worked with this contractor.

The company arrived right on time and completed the job that day. The employees were very curteous and left the job site very clean. The company also did a bit a of extra work and mudded over some older joints on the walls without an additional charge. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgable and was on site several times throughout the day to check progress and make sure I was a happy customer. D&S provides more services than drywall which is helpful during a small home project. I plan on using this company again in the future.

Crew of 7 or 8 was very professional and very well trained. Owner supervised his crew very well. Owner explained his services well and followed through as promised. Owner answered all of my questions and was able to provide all the services I needed. Price was high but I needed services others could not do.

Dan Miller came and gave a free estimate. When I called to schedule him to do the work he worked around my schedule. He showed up promptly, did what was expected, protected floors with cloth tarps, cleaned up everything and swept everyday after finished working. They were very neat and professional. The quality was outstanding. The bedroom and bathroom look flawless.

After multiple attempts to get bids from other drywallers, I called Dan at D&S Interiors and the phone was answered in person. After a brief explanation of my needs an appointment was made to visit my house the next day. Arriving promptly at the designated time I was encouraged by the professionalism and knowledge of Dan. He started and finished the job in 3 days and during that time Dan and his crew we're prompt professional and efficient. After each day the job site was vacuumed and cleaned. Which was important to me! The work he did was outstanding and I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone who is looking for drywaller or a painter.
