The person I spoke with was informative, but we decided to wait to have the face replaced.

The cost of the work was about the same as what I had been quoted by another clock repair place. Mr. van Tassel picked up and delivered the clock back to me which was nice. It did take more time than I thought it would (approx. 2.5 months), but since he works two jobs this probably was to be expected. Before taking the clock with him, he did say it would take a while to clean it, make any repairs it needed, and make sure it was working correctly before he was finished with it. All it needed at this time was a good cleaning. If you have him do the work than just factor in some extra time in getting the clock back.

Andy knows his business! He disembled the clock, cleaned and oiled the moving parts, straightened the twisted pendulum, and leveled the clock on the carpeting. He also fixed the night-time chime level which was broken. Andy is a perfectionist and I was tremendously pleased with his work. I would definitely pass his name on to a friend who was in need of such service.

Came to my home to do an initial assessment of the work to be performed. I agreed to have the work completed. Andy cleaned and refurbished the clock and worked on it until it ran perfectly. I am so happy with the work and the cost. I figured it would cost around $200 dollars because Andy replaced worn parts and worked on it until it was accurately telling time. I would definitely recommend Andy!

Mr. VanTassel was very professional and quickly discovered the problem with my clock. He is very knowledgeable about the workings of clocks and that saved time and money. He was on time for both appointments we set.

It was only $20. I was amazed. He was also able to repair my wall clock, the main problem being that the pendulum would not swing back and forth, without replacing any of the inner workings of the clock. He told me the cost would be $20, I couldn't believe it so I paid him $25 and thanked him. He did a fine job and he deserves the highest possible rating.

Andy stopped by my house with his tools. He removed the movement at my dining room table and diagnosed the problem within 20 minutes. He took the movement to his shop and replaced the broken gear. About two weeks later, he returned with the repaired movement and reinstalled into the clock within 20 minutes.

He came out and looked at the clock, and took the workings with him so he did not have to transport the clock case. He repaired the workings, which required a great deal of work on his part because many of the elements needed to be replaced. He put the workings back in the clock, and I was very pleased with his work. He is a craftsman who is concerned with the quality of his work.

My call was returned with 24 hours of leaving a message. Mr. Van Tassel came out and reinstalled the fallen chain and weight. He told us that the 25+ year old clock works were worn and explained some of the problems we might experience. He gave us the option of applying the $65 fee toward new clock works if additional problems were encountered within 90 days. At this time we have new clock works on order.

It took Eric a couple of days to get back to us, but, when he did, he came right away, took the parts to his shop, and brought them back within the same day. The clock had not been running for years, and now it runs like a clock! My uncle made this clock for his mother, my grandmother, so it's great to hear the chimes again.

He did not charge for this return visit although the guarantee period was over.

He's very nice. He took the whole thing apart. He wasn't sure if he could fix it, but he did. Everything works perfectly.

ANDY WAS VERY POLITE AND DID A WONDERFUL JOB REPAIRING MY CLOCK. THIS CLOCK MEANS A LOT TO ME SINCE IT BELONGED TO MY DECEASED PARENTS AND I AM SO HAPPY ANDY WAS ABLE TO REPAIR IT. IT WAS EXPENSIVE TO FIX, BUT THE MAN WHO WORKED ON IT FIRST REALLY MESSED UP THE WORKS. ANDY HAD TO ORDER OR MAKE PARTS FOR THE CLOCK TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE ELSE WORK ON MY CLOCK AGAIN.

AFTER PICKING UP AND RETURNING MY CLOCK THREE MORE TIMES OVER THE FOLLOWING YEAR, THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED IN SEPTEMBER 2005. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE NEW MOVEMENT HAD A BAD MAINSPRING AND THE CLOCK COULD NOT BE PROPERLY REGULATED. ON THE LAST RETURN IN JULY 2005, I FINALLY MET ANDY AND FOUND OUT THAT ALL OF THE PREVIOUS WORK HAD BEEN DONE BY HIS FATHER AND BROTHER"

ANDY RUNS THE BUSINESS. VERY POLITE. ANSWERED MY PHONE CALL PROMPTLY. CAME ON TIME FOR APPOINTMENT. PRICE VERY GOOD.

SEEMED VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. DIDN'T TRY TO SELL US ON MORE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. HAD PRACTICAL SENSE AND ADVICE ABOUT WHAT TO DO TO THE CLOCK CONSIDERING ITS AGE.

I ASKED HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO DO THE WORK AND WAS TOLD 3 TO 4 WEEKS. I CALLED AT THE END OF THE 4TH WEEK AND LEFT A MESSAGE AND HEARD NOTHING BACK. I CALLED 7 DAYS LATER AND STILL COULD NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH ANYONE. IT TOOK ANOTHER 3 TO 4 WEEKS. IT WAS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOLLOW THROUGH. I WAS PLEASED WITH THE END PRODUCT, BUT NOT HOW I WAS TREATED THROUGH OUT THE PROCESS. THE WHOLE PROCESS TOOK 7 WEEKS.

ANDY VAN TASSEL WAS FANTASTIC. HE WAS PROMPT IN HIS SERVICE CALL TO OUR HOUSE, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE. HE PERFORMED HIS SERVICE WITHIN THE TIME FRAME QUOTED, AND HIS FEE WAS WITHIN THE RANGE QUOTED.
