The Painting Edge

This is the second time/ second home we've used The Painting Edge for our interior painting projects. Todd has always been very easy to work with and responsive. Once we were able to nail down a start time (both of our schedules were difficult because of the recent weather problems) the team was prompt and did an excellent job. Todd was very helpful in guiding us to colors we really liked and we couldn't be happier with the work the team did. All of the fellows who worked on our project were very polite, friendly and courteous and they did a lovely job. It was a pleasure having them in our home and so nice to deal with craftsmen who take pride in their work. We have several more rooms to go before we finish our house and plan on continuing with The Painting Edge for all of these projects. Thanks again to Todd and his team!!

Guys were in and out in two days - excellant job and CLEANED up after they were done. I will hire them to do my outside painting this summer and any additional work that I need in the future. Todd has a great crew! Thanks guys!!!

They were excellent. The work was superior. The crew and the owner were great to work with. They detailed how they were going to handle the job on their estimate and it was very detailed which made us feel very comfortable before the job was started. Once they were here the work was done very well. They were fast and efficient. We paid at the back end when we were satisfied with the work instead of upfront like some other companies. They were not the cheapest but I spoke with the owner and got a really good explanation of why they charge what they do because of what they do. I liked his honesty because of how he explained things and his integrity.

I could not ask for better service. Todd and his crew went above and beyond to make sure everything was done properly. Thanks for a job well done!!!

Where is the A++ button? The Painting Edge did a phenomenal job. Todd and his crew were super knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to work with. We are very pleased with the entire experience, and the end result, and without reservation would recommend The Painting Edge for interior painting needs.

Excellent job overall.. Todd came to my house very promptly after I contacted him; went through all the details involved in my job request and provided me with a written estimate immediately. His co-worker, Flynn, actually performed the work and was very neat, conscientious, thorough and knowlegeable. Todd returned after completion of the work to ensure that everything was done to my satisfaction. I would certainly be more than happy to hire this company for any of my future painting needs.

Todd Cartmel came out to give us an estimate and met with us a second time to choose colors and prepare for the project. Todd was extremely helpful in suggesting color schemes. For the most part, two painters came each day until the project was completed. Both painters were extremely professional, congenial, and prompt which, considering the work was done around the Christmas holidays, was very impressive. Everything was done on schedule, and within the estimated budget. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the work ethic and professionalism of Todd and the painters. The painters went above and beyond by volunteering to assist us with moving back some large furniture pieces once the work was complete. I would highly recommend The Painting Edge for whatever may be Angie's Lists' highest service award. We will certainly use them again for any future painting or other needs.

Todd was excellent to work with, the work was first rate and Todd did exactly what he said he would and his follow up for little details was timely and well done. I would recommend The Painting Edge to anyone. Todd also spent a decent amount of time preparing a comprehensive estimate so that there were no surprises.

The exterior painting quote was a very competitive price and if our contractor didn't offer to do this job for free due to issues on that job, we would have used The Painting Edge. But, since Todd was so responsive and easy to work with on the quote, we asked him about drywall repair. That project was very smooth, they worked around short notice of a day off work for me and the ceiling texture blends perfectly. The two workmen were very polite and timely.

The rate was the highest of those I received, but the quality was worth it. They were quick with getting me the quote and completed the project on time. I also felt informed throughout the experience. My condo was also left clean after each day of the project and upon its completion.

My experience with The Painting Edge was very positive. I'm always concerned with the quality of work that is completed at my house by an outside contractor. Todd, not only met my expectations, but far exceeded them. It was a pleasant experience to receive true quality work for once from an outside contractor. Todd even picked up paint supplies for us as we planned to paint the kitchen ourselves once he and his crew were done.

We used this company 4 years ago also to completely paint the interior of our home. Each time everyone from the owner, Todd to all of his employees were extremely professional, punctual, courteous, and neat. The work was extremely well done. They pride themselves in their work. We would absolutely use them again. This time it was painting the trim work in and around 13 new windows that had just been installed as well as repainting small areas on walls that needed to be touched up. Again Excellent work.

Very well. Todd is very easy to talk to and get a hold of. He came and quoted the job. Then he came a couple of days before we started just to make sure everyone was on the same page. At that time, we added the bathroom and the upstairs hallway to the job because we felt if we had him there anyway, we may as well have it all done. This was not problem for Todd. His guys showed up promptly and were very nice, courteous, and professional. They did a great job keeping the dust to a minimum, cleaned up each day, and tried to complete each area on the same day so we could live around the project as best as possible. They finished on time and did a fantastic job. Our house really looks great. I've used Todd several other times. The first time, he really saved us from a project gone bad. I really trust his expertise, and most importantly, I really trust that he will give me a fair price.

Todd was the 2nd of 2 painters I called to bid the first job. He arrived promptly to look at the work or an estimate and got me an estimate that night that was 30% lower than the other estimate I got from another highly rated Angie's list company. He even gave us some good advice in picking the final color to paint. All of this work was to get a house ready to show to sell. He got the work started on time, starting with the drywall repairs. Their paint work all around the house was fantastic, the painters were clean, I didn't see a drop of spilled paint anywhere in the house or a single mess in the week of work. This portion of the work was roughly $3500. Most importantly, the paint work was good enough to help the house sell in 3 weeks. They paid for themselves easily. After this we called him for some small woord repair and paint work on the exterior of the house but wood time repair is not part of what he did and he was nice enough to refer us to another provider who did great work. After this great experience, we called him again on short notice to get the bedrooms in our new house painted. He was able to get to this quickly on a short schedule and got the 3 rooms done. On this, they did the walls and also the trim because previous owners had gotten a lot of wall paint on the trim. This portion of the work was around $1500. Again, the painters did great work, the walls and trim look good, and not a spot of paint anywhere it shouldn't be.

Excellent experience. The house looks great. They were professional in appearance and in how they conducted themselves. They were respectful and communicated well. They cleaned up their work area daily before leaving. Their work is neat and the products they use are of good quality. The owner Todd Cartmel was able to recommend a handyman for us to work with as well, and it was helpful that they coordinated with each other during the project. The size of our project meant that they were here for weeks, so it was a bonus to feel comfortable having them at our house.

To give a true picture of how Todd does business I first have to relay the experience I had in the spring when Todd's crew painted the walls in our family room. After the work was completed I noticed I couldn't get the cable box to work with the TV, We found one of the crew had accidentally bent the end of an HDMI cable pulling an entertainment cabinet away from the wall. Before I could even anticipate whether I was going to end up in a debate with Todd about them taking responsibility, he stepped up to the plate right away and said to reduce his payment by the amount of the repair. Right then, I knew I wasn't going to get another estimate on the outside of the house. The crew that painted the outside of the house just left this morning. Our house now looks better than when it was new. I could not believe their attention to detail. I've had our house painted in past years for much less, but I got what I paid for. Most times there was a crew of 5 people working at the same time and they took approximately 5 days. They were professional, did a great job of cleaning up each day, and took great pride in their work. I will definitely be using the Painting Edge in the future.

The crew was professional, polite and easy to work with. We appreciated the pre-job meeting a few days before work began to go over details and specifics so we knew what to expect. The job was completed a day earlier than expected. This was not our lowest estimate received, but we were very comfortable that Todd, being the owner, was the one who met with us, gave us the estimate and was our contact throughout. We were extremely pleased with the entire process and job well done. We would definitely use this company again and highly recommend to others.

Todd's team had done previous work painting the interior of our home. Their quality work inside led us to use their services to paint the exterior of our home. The team was professional and delivered a quality exterior paint job at the right price point on our brick home in carmel. Todd's team cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day as well. All in all, I will continue to use The Painting Edge and can recommend for future interior and exterior painting needs.

We were doing a small job and needed someone to replace some drywall for us. Todd responded to my request for an estimate very quickly. He was professional and prompt in arriving and sending us an estimate. He never hassled us nor bothered us when we didn't reply to him after a few weeks. We finally have let him know that we chose someone else to do the work. We chose someone from a Christian network and someone we know and has references that we know. Todd's estimate was in the ballpark and I would have had no problems hiring Todd's crew. He was willing to fit us in and do the work soon.

Excellent quick response from company owner. One of the crew were sick and did not do the best job. Owner was very responsive and dealt with the situation immediately. We would definitely use again as it is rare these days to find a company that does what they say they will do and stands behind their work without a fight. We would definielty recommend!

After having plumbing to washing machine repaired, I had to repair damage to the drywall around the pipes. I attempted this repair myself, but was not satisfied with the results. We have used The Painting Edge in the past and have always been very happy with their work. I contacted Todd and he was out the next day to give an estimate. His estimate included 2 trips, one for the repair and a second one for sanding down. His workers came out within 2 days, and did such a great job that it is almost perfect, and we decided a second trip is unnecessary. His servicemen were very professional and did an excellent job working with the repairs I had already done. The final invoice was adjusted down to reflect only one service call. We are very pleased with how fast and well the work was performed, and will not hesitate to use The Painting Edge in the future. Keep up the good work!

Todd came to see the job. He sent me a written estimate. I told him I wanted to get it done, however, a family emergency postponed the start date, but when I was ready again, Todd just picked up where we had left off. Becasue I would be working and not at the house and concerned about that, he agreed to meet on Sat PM to dicuss it. He assured me he scheduled his most senior workers on his crew and that he trusted them implicitly. He said it would take 4 days to complete. I didn't see the crew, but each evening when I came home, the room was cleaned up, carpet swept, no paint on door frames or tile floor or the sinks. Very professional. The walls look wonderful. Had some issues with wallboard damage from the glue on the paper. They applied a skim coat before painting and it definitely is eradicated..Todd also suggested I paint a partial wall instead of stopping where I thought I should and it made all the difference in how the color is viewed as your eye sweeps the room. Great suggession. The job ended exactly on the day as promised. 2 of the crew even returned the next AM to hang towel bars, etc., which I truly appreciated. Todd called me every day to inform me what had been done, what was happening and what was to be done the next day. That was wonderful info to have. He even contacted me on the last day to inform me they had found a loose tile at the base of the toilet and when they lifted it up thinking they would regrout it, they found the sub floor was wet. He suggesed we leave the tile off and possilby pull up the toilet to see how far the leak had gone. He even volunteered one of the crew that was returning the next day to go into the crawlspace to see if any moisture could be seen there. However, we found it wasn't as bad as it could have been and only required a new seal. I am truly grateful that Todd contacted me right away or this problem could have continued for months and I would have ended up with some serious damage costing thousands of dollars. Todd is a good businessman who cares about the reputation of his company and it shows in every way. The work is quality, the people are quality and their "extra mile" values are quality. I've told Todd how very pleased I am with the results. His company's name and number are a permanent fixture in my house repairs file.

Always shows up when promised, dressed very professionally for painters, kind and considerate and concerned about doing any damage to exterior landscaping. Kept me informed of progress and also of issues they found with extensive wood rot that needed to be replaced not just caulked. Painted the screened porch deck and the exterior deck after sanding the old paint off, and came back to inspect and redid areas that they were not pleased with the results. Handled my home more as if they were working on their own rather than a customers. Nice job.
