The Painting Edge

The Painting Edge did a fantastic job. We had a few different quotes and Todd quoted about $1000 less than the second lowest. This was because the other painters were going to have to paint the entire ceiling for a few water spots, Todd's crew was able to blend the fixes into the rest of the ceiling seamlessly. The entire crew was very professional and receptive. I couldn't be happier with the job they did. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I had 5 different quotes on how to get the job done. I have lived here since 1989 and this is the 5th time I have had it done. They are by far the best guys I have used before. I picked them because of the professionalism of Todd Cartmel. Their prep work was the best ever done. They were the only ones that guaranteed they were going to power sand all the peeling spots around the windows. It was truly incredible. They weren’t the lowest or highest bid. The whole company was truly professional and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend this company for any painting job, interior or exterior.

Very good! Todd went to the house provided an estimate, team showed up when they were going to and finished without any supervision. Todd met me to walk through and review the trim - he was honest, fair, and very professional. I would highly recommend them for any painting needs.

The Painting Edge exceeded our expectations. Todd and his team of painting professionals were always in constant communication with us throughout the project. It had been over 10 year since the exterior of our house had been painted, and with the Sherwin-Williams Duration paint it looked brand new. We had numerous compliments from our neighbors about the quality of the finished product. We would recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality workmanship at an affordable price.

Todd Cartmel came out on a Saturday in early June to provide an estimate. He listened about the other projects we had planned and offerd to prime our wood siding we were having replaced before it was hung. Todd indicated that he wouldn't want us to hang new siding that wasn't primed because the wood wouldn't have any protection. He indicated that with all the heat (early summer)and their other committed work, it would be September before they could start. He kept in contact with me throughout the summer. He sent several guys over in late July to prime about 600 sq ft of T-111 siding that was going to be hung. When the time arrived to paint the house in September, hiis crew prepped for about 2.5 days and then took about 5 days to paint. The crew was outstanding. There was never a mess. In fact, they went around the perimiter of the house and vacummed up loose paint and other debris from the sanding and prep work. They were meticulous, friendly, professional and highly skilled. They started on a Tuesday and completed the job the following Wednesday, working through the weekend. The crew usually consisted of 3-5 guys each day. As our house was being painted, many neighbors commented on the quality of the prep and the paint work that was being done. Todd kept in communication throughout the job. Simply outstanding!

Painting was all beyond expectations and working with Todd Cartmel was professional all thru the project. Todd met with us initially to lay out the plan and he followed it to the letter. He was also very willing to adjust schedules to meet the needs of the tenant since the areas were occiupied. As unexpected items came up (removing wallcovering and preparing walls) Todd and his crew were always timely and fulfilled the job to our fullest satisfaction. They were even willing to return after carpet was laid to repaint the walls that were damaged. They were very professional at all times and cleaned up the areas when they left for the day. I can highly recommend Todd and The Painting Edge for any painting need. He can handle the big and complicated jobs as well as the everyday jobs. One of the best contractors I have worked with over the past 20 years managing our building and its tenants.

Todd was quick to provide us with an estimate for the job and assured me that his team of guys would do an excellent job and they did just that! Todd was very accomodating when we needed extra time to choose our paint colors and I appreciated the attention to detail with the entire project. The team arrived on time every day, were friendly but polite and well-mannered and considerate of the fact that this was my home. They took good care of my furniture and cleaned up at the end of every day. They did not rush through the painting but took their time to ensure that the walls were properly prepared and then applied the correct number of coats of paint to ensure good coverage. Great!!! Josh and Shane did an awesome job, showing up on time every day and making all smile with music and general good nature. They did an amazing job, always sure to clean up after themselves each day as if they were not even here. They were here a total of 8 days and I couldnt be happier with their work. Following job, they offered to come back and touch up after carpet was laid. They were awesome and deserve much kudos for a job well done. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have painting done. Gave B on price as they were not the cheapest out there, not even close but they were well worth the money.

Todd came out and provided the estimate and put us on his schedule. He kept us updated in terms of where we were on his schedule.We were also replacing all the gutters and downspouts on the house and he coordinated all of this through the gutter company. This was much appreciated as I didn't have to deal with it. The carpenter did a great job, especially replacing a very large board in the front of the house in which they added some additional trim pieces that improved the look. They removed and replaced the old caulk on the house that was really looking bad after 30 years. The painters were excellent and very detailed. The whole project could not have been better!

As always Todd and his crew are the best. We've lived in Carmel twice now in the past 12 years and have used this company at each of our homes. We've never had an issue with quality or service. As for cost, I do believe you get what you pay for, that said, Todd has always been more than fair with us and we trust him implicitly. If he says he uses a particular product that is admittedly more costly but he's found it holds up best we take him at his word and have never been disappointed. This last project took place during some of the hottest weather we've had all summer and it was an entirely outdoor project. Add to that an issue with hornets plus a holiday weekend and you could have a recipe for disaster. However, everything looks terrific, things were completed in a timely manner and the crew was as always professional and courteous. Clearly, Todd takes great pride in what he does and how he runs his business and he sets the tone for everyone on his crew. Every one I've met from The Painting Edge takes pride in what they're doing and has a strong work ethic. They genuinely want to make sure we're happy with their work not just "fine" with things. As a side note we recently had some interior cabinet work done (something Painting Edge doesn't do) as part of that project the painting of our kitchen walls was included in the price. While we were very happy with the cabinet painting I have to note that the wall painting was "fine" but not to the same standard as Todd's guys. We've already decided to have Todd redo the kitchen once we replace the backsplash. Thanks again for another terrific job!

Todd provided us with quotes for painting 3 seperate areas of our home in June. He showed up to the appointment on time. Was respectful of our home (took off his shoes to tour) and took the time to answer all of our questions. We gathered 4 quotes for the job and decided upon The Painting Edge as their price was competitive and Todd was the most professional of the painting contractors we interviewed.Todd scheduled the work for mid-July. He met with us prior to starting the job for a final walk throug to ensure he knew the scope of work. His staff showed up on time for each day of the job, were polite and professional, took care in our home and did an excellent job with the work.The cost of the work was as stated in the estimate as was the time it would take to do the work.We are very pleased with the job Todd and his crew did and would recommend him to family and friends.

Took a lot longer than thought because one of the workers messed up the patch work, this is according to the main painter. The guys were very nice and friendly and did a great job cleaning up their mess.

Todd is the only one we will use for painting. About three years ago we redid the whole house and he did great. He will recommend great people if he needs to to get the job done. We have recommended him to many people and we are really happy with him.

Todd and his crew were on time, began immediately to prep the walls and paint the ceilings. The first day was spent repairing dry wall and finishing the ceilings. The second day the walls were completed. I might add that the walls are cathedral height and the rooms blend into one another. For this reason one color was used thru out the interior. Also, included in the estimate was the completion of a room that I had started but could not finish because of the height. I supplied the paint for that room, Todd included the paint for the rest of the house in his estimate. I am very impressed with Todd and his crew. I have worked with painters, electricians and carpenters before and have come to expect someone to be late, the work not completed on time, or the final price to be higher. Todd was very prompt and his final price was exactly what I was quoted. And they were finished a full 2 days ahead of schedule. I would definitely use Todd and The Painting Edge again.

Todd was very prompt in giving an estimate. Also helped tremendously in color selection when I had questions.He came out with crew on day of start to do a walk through of work. The guys were great to patch drywall issues when found. Cleaned up each day & vaccumed before leaving. I've used this company for several years and am always very pleased with their work. I will use them again and would highly recommend them.

The experience was a very good one. Todd and his team were all top notch. The rooms look great, the colors are exactly what we wanted, The drywall repair is perfect. The painting team were considerate of our home, and cleaned up after the job was done. They were respectful of our time, and our belongings. I will use Todd Cartmel and his team again next year when we paint more rooms. I recommend them highly.

Todd Cartmel was very professional and gave us confidence that the project would be completed professionally and on time. He coordinated with another company that was doing window and siding repair so that the painting project began soon after the window work was completed. His crew was outstanding and took great pride in their work. They answered all our questions, and were diligent, courteous, and professional throughout the project. They reviewed progress with us regularly. They used top quality paint and did a fantastic job. Our home looks brand new! We could not be more pleased with the outcome and recommend The Painting Edge to everyone.

We spent a very long time looking at interior colors as well as looking at different painters and painting companies to help with the painting of our house. Todd was helpful throughout the process and visited us 3 times before work started to make sure that everything was correct. The job was estimated to take 4-5 days but ended up working into the 9 day range. I will not hold anything against Todd with this since the extent of the drywall repairs was a little more than what was originally thought. His crew did a great job on the actual paint job itself and for the life of me I have not been able to find a single drop of paint on any surface. No issues with moving out (and moving back) furniture, beds, TV's, and a piano. His estimate was about average with two companies higher and one company lower. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and will use them in the future if I need any more interior areas painted.

I called Todd in October 2011 for an estimate. After meeting with Todd and receiving the estimate, I decided to use his company to paint several rooms and repair drywall around a newly installed window. I started with the drywall repair and staining the new window in the Master Bedroom. Because of scheduling conflicts with my work schedule, I had to delay the painting until May. The painters, Shane and Josh, were punctual and did an excellent job painting and taking care of my furniture. I had some very minor issues with the drywall repair and Shane took care of those issues to my satisfaction. The quality of work done by Shane and Josh was outstanding. I will use Todd's company again in the future for my painting needs.

It was easy to schedule the estimate and they went out of their way to schedule in the work on short notice. They did the work quickly and well. Todd even communicated with me by email while I was in a different country - while dealing with my brother locally. Quite happy with the work.

Todd came and gave us an estimate. Robert and Dustin came and powerwashed the house. After allowing the house the dry a couple of days, Jerrimiah and Robert came and preped the house by scraping and caulking. The boys came and painted the house with very little disruption to us. They came and cleaned one or two little spots after painting. They did a great job. I would use the Painting Edge again.

We are repeat customers of Todd and his crew. They squeezed us into the schedule and went above and beyond to get the job done so that we could list our house for sale. We had our basement painted, along with the stairs and hallway, kitchen cabinets, walls and ceiling and a few other odd jobs along the way. The crew was very careful with our new carpets and countertops and left behind an excellent finished product. Todd is very responsive to any questions and is great to work with. His crew is knowledgeable, friendly and do great work.

Todd was very professional to work with. His crew of 2 that did the job that day was great: courteous, punctual, detail oriented. We are very happy with the job they did and would recommend them highly to anyone. At some point we will look to paint the rest of the house and will definitely be giving them a call back.

Todd came a day after I called to see the work and give us an estimate. He and his crew were punctual on the scheduled days. The drywall was repaired so that you cannot tell it had ever been cut. They matched the texture on the ceiling perfectly.
