This is a good repair shop. After going to the dealer for the last year I dropped their service and now rely just on Miller. Their prices are reasonable and they are easy to work with. I don't feel that they try to push things that don't need to be done. They also work on my Subaru which is great because it is far more economical than the dealer.

The service was excellent. I was very happy with the job manager. I did everything over the telephone and over the phone he was able to give a ballpark price that was significantly lower than a dealership that I got a quote from. I got a diagnostic test from a dealer and took it to them and they decided the results were the problem with the transmission. They had my vehicle a little longer than expected as it was about a week longer than estimated but they answered the phone everytime I called. They locked the keys in my car so I did not have to pay for a rental for an extra weekend. The price came in less than what I had thought it would be and that was great.

I had taken my car to a Toyota dealer to diagnose why the coolant was leaking. They told me it was coming from the engine and I needed to replace the engine. I take excellent care of my car so wasn't sure if they were correct and wanted a second opinion. I took it to Miller Auto and they confirmed what the dealer said. The mechanic explained in detail what happened (the engine was pulling away from the block because the bolts were threaded) and charged a reasonable fee for the diagnosis.

A very poor experience from beginning to end. We are new to town and so we looked up the reviews for this shop. Clearly we should have spent more time reading the negative reviews. We were told that the initial fix was to replace the fan clutch at a cost of $350. Eventhough we were told that they drove the vehicle and tested it extensively, within 5 miuntes of paying for and picking up the vehicle, the fan stopped and clearly the problem had not been fixed. We returned the car and we were told that the resistor pack for the fan needed to be replaced....another $250. I inquired as to why the original work (replacing the fan clutch) did not fix the problem and I was given a rather round about explanation that didn't make much sense. I contacted our previous mechanic, located in another state, and explained the symptoms. He immmediately said it sounds like the resistor pack and that the fan clutch has nothing to do with problem we were experiencing. This was consisitent with my research on the internet about what a fan clutch does. It was clear that a fan clutch replacement and the $350 was the wrong fix for our problem. I contacted them again and expressed my concerns. I even offered to split the difference pay for the fan clutch part if they would cover the labor charge. The conversation became circular, so I left it that they could choose one of two paths....charge me in full and lose a customer or remove the labor charge and I would therefore being paying for half of what I believe was completely unnecessary work....which I believe was a very generous offer. Their choice was to discount the work by $50. So I am left with a $300 charge for unnecessary work. I run a substantial business in this geography and I would never treat my customers this way.
Description of Work: Blower for air conditioner, into the cabin of the car, was stopping after a few minutes of use. This is the first time I have ever published a negative review.

Response from Miller Auto Care Inc
First let me apoligize for the unique circumstances of your vehicles multiple problems. The original complaint stated was "ac not working at random" Upon test driving the vehicle we noticed that at stops, when the vehicle was not moving the ac continued to blow air, but the air went from cold to warm. Upon inspection we found that the fan clutch on the engine for the radiator and ac condenser was not engaging the fan at idle, therefore at idle there was no air moving accross the radiator or ac condenser. Without air flow niether the cooling or ac system can function without air flow, thus warm ac air at idle. Also, if the car had idled for extended periods of time it would have overheated. That also explains why the ac cooled on our test drive as long as we were moving down the road with air flow through radiator and ac condenser. That is one reason why the component is called a fan clutch, it engages and disengages as needed with temperature After customer approval, we replaced the fan clutch and test drove the vehicle again, and everything worked just fine. The customer returned the vehicle stating "Ac just shuts down" We drove the vehicle again and experienced the ac blower motor shutting off. We found the blower resister to be working intermittently. We explained this to the customer and gave an estimate to replace the resistor and received authorization to perform the repairs. We test drove the vehicle again and experienced no further problems. Again I apologize for these unique circumstances, we did the repairs in good faith based upon the facts discovered from our test drives. Obviously it would have been nice for all involved had the vehicle "acted up" so to speak with "both" of its symptoms on our first test drive. This vehicle had two issues effecting the ac, both had to be fixed. For all involved it would have been ideal if the blower resistor would have failed during the first visit. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or comments.

It sounds kind of crazy, but I would get a new car almost every year. They have done a lot of work for me on multiple vehicles and I would rank them an "A" across the board. They kind of have that small town field and they know who you are. It's a family run Christian shop, so they're always very professional and very courteous. It's like going in and checking your language. I was like my pleasure and thank you and stuff. It has always been that way since I've known them.
Description of Work: Miller Auto Care has serviced almost every vehicle of mine since I was 15. I first used them when I got my truck because there was a busted tire rod and things like that and they fixed all of it for me.

I've dealt with them for a long number of years in a big town. I just go there because I expect good service and I get good service. They may be a little more expensive, but I'm willing to sacrifice expense for quality. I can depend on the quality and the knowledge of the experienced team over there. May be I can get an oil change at another place that is a little less expensive, but I know that they have also checked tires and everything so I don't mind it. I have no problem with the quality of their work. They are always willing to take me in and I guess it's because I've been a long time customer. When they come across a problem that is going to take longer than they expect, they always let me know. I'm patient. I'm retired and I've got nothing else to do. Their professionalism is fine. I would continue to use them in the future.

Daughter was home from college for the day and needed to replace two tires that lost their tread. It was obvious that the car would need an alignment. Contacted the company I normally prefer but they are always booked. Another customer suggested Miller Auto Car and said he takes all his cars there to be worked on and was very happy with the work. I called and asked if they would be able to fit us in since daughter needed to return to college that evening. Miller Auto Care was able to fit us in immediately. They performed the alignment within a couple of hours and called us when it was completed. The facility was easy to get to and very clean. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and professional.

I called around to a number of auto shop's including our dealer, where we normally have the van serviced, to see how much everyone charges for this service. Miller Auto Care was competitive in price to other auto shops, cheaper than our deal and had the Angie's list reviews to back up their work. Additionally, the coupon available for first time customers made it even better and "sealed the deal". The work was performed without issue. As a side note, we also had the brakes checked. Miller Auto Care came up with the same analysis that our dealer came up with on the brakes and recommended that they DID NOT need to be replaced at this time (something a local brake shop recommended that we have performed) . This analysis helped me build additional trust in Miller Auto Care. Overall, I'm very impressed with Miller Auto Care's price, quality & service and will look to continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: Had a #4 service performed on a 2005 Honda Odyssey. If you drive a Honda, you'll know that this is "The Big One". It includes replacing the timing belt and a whole bunch of other maintenance($$$). Needless to say, it's not cheap and I wasn't looking forward to it.

Not really impressed with this company. Their prices for basic auto services are high. Lady at the front counter wouldn't give us a price for a basic oil change when asked. They tried to get us to do a service that wasn't necessary. Unfortunately a bad first impression won't lead to a second one. Residents of affluent Carmel may not mind the high prices, but I'm still surprised at the number of A's this company has been given. Just because a company "seems" honest, doesn't mean they're giving you a fair deal, nor does it mean that they aren't trying to sell you something you don't need. If it wasn't for the coupon on Angie's List I would feel completely ripped off. There's too much competition out there to even consider going back to this place.

I heard good things about Miller Auto Care and it has been around Carmel for as long as I can remember. I called them Monday morning, they said bring it in and we will get to it on Tuesday. By Wednesday evening I hadn't heard anything so I called. They said it probably needed a new carburetor, but would know more tomorrow. Well, I never heard anything so I called back Friday morning. They said they got it started and it wasn't the carburetor. My points were wet and needed to be replaced...we talked about a few options and decided to add an electronic ignition. I let him know I was not happy with the time it took to find the problem. He said something about these older cars are tougher to figure out sometimes. Well, the truth probably was they didn't even look at it until Friday morning. He said he would call me back later when he found the part. Once again, I had to call back. He said he found the part, but it wouldn't be here until the following Thursday. I said because you took so long could you please express the delivery. He agreed. The following Tuesday I got a hold of him and he told me he ordered the wrong one and it would be another day before he got it in. Finally, a week later they called and said I could pick up my car, but I would probably need a few things done in the future. I picked up my car drove it for one day and it died again at my work. It would not start. I called and the response was "tow it in when you get a chance and we'll look at it and see what the problem is!" Are you kidding? The response should have been I'm so sorry! Where is your car? We will tow it in and see what happened. I was in Zionsville and decided just to tow it to the closest place to save money. Towed it to Goodyear Service on 86th/Michigan. They wanted to know the brand of the ignition that was installed. So I called Miller to ask them they told me the part item # and then said where is your car. I explained where I towed it and then they got all concerned. "You know we can warrant that if they do any work on your car. You need to tow it to Miller. We will pay the tow fee if it was a mistake by Miller." Sure! So, I can wait another three weeks for you guys to fix it! In the meantime, I researched the part online. I could have bought it for $68. Miller charged me $221 for the part plus labor! I know they need to make money and I expect some mark up, but three times the amount I could have bought it for myself. To make things worse they installed it wrong. Goodyear found the magnets from the electronic ignition had come loose. They epoxied them back into place and my car fired right up. Goodyear also added a manifold donut gasket and I was driving down the road $51 later the same day. I think Miller is probably a reputable company with good honest workers. They do a lot of business. They probably do good work for the most part. I think I caught them when they were busy. I didn't feel like they felt my car and myself were important enough. The funny thing is I bought this car as a summer cruiser and expected there to be some issues and eventually will probably replace the engine. However, I sure won't be bringing it to Miller because of the service I received. Not to mention they clearly overcharge for parts! I tried to help the local guy and got burned for it. I will bring my cars to Goodyear for general maintenance and their honest manager Jerry over there that took care of me. I have referred two of my friends to Goodyear as well.
