On time for quote, followed up to schedule. Arrived with worker to review work, completed work in less time than estimated. Professional team. Left work area clean. Did great work! Will definitely call them next time we need masonry work done.

These guys really did great from start to finish. Jeff impressed us right from the start with his knowledge of his craft and his great ideas of what would look best and work best. Our old walkway was all chipping away and looked terrible. We were debating between pavers vs. concrete and new pathway vs. courtyard. We weren't quite sure what we wanted, but Jeff had great ideas and energy. He never pushed us into anything, and the design of the project was a fruitful collaboration. We got estimates from a few other hardscapers, but these guys instilled the most confidence with us. It didn't hurt that their price felt very reasonable compared to the other guys, but frankly, Jeff's enthusiasm and knowledge is why we went with them. The job went off without any problems. Demolition and install all went well and we really love the way it looks. Jeff went out of his way to resolve an issue we had with the color. Apparently the supplier didn't have the color we agreed on, but fortunately Jeff was able to recover it in time for the courtyard to be completed to our satisfaction. He has guaranteed his work just in case there is an issue in the near future, but I doubt there will be a problem. We would use Jeff and his crew again in the future, and we very well may with our back patio in the next year or two.
Description of Work: Our old walkway and landscaping that led to our front door were all torn out and a new "courtyard" and front porch, all made of pavers were installed. Also, our other shrubs and landscaping were torn out, replanted in the backyard (where applicable), and new updated shrubs were installed in the front of the house.

It seemed to take forever to get the project started (several times we were told our project would probably start in 2-3 weeks, but it never did). After sending Jeff about 1/3 down, it was another 3-4 weeks before the project finally started. Concrete was broken up and hauled away on a Monday and Tuesday; no workers showed up the rest of that week. When some workers arrived the following week, real work commenced but the workers had to endure extremely hot weather to move the job along. I offered them cold water and ice throughout the project because I felt sorry for them. During this project, a blue spruce that I had not intended to have removed was removed, accidentally, I suppose. Jeff told us at the start of our paver projects (he's done several for us) that polymeric sand would be applied, and then watered down. After two or three weeks, his crew would return for a second application of polymeric sand to complete the job. To date, and this is several months after the latest project, we have yet to see application of additional polymeric sand. Our phone calls to Jeff to remind him to make this second application go unanswered! We are most displeased by this.
Description of Work: Old concrete walkway to front porch, and the driveway apron, were removed. Paver stonework then followed for both. Some minimal landscaping work around front porch was done. Several old shrubs were removed from site. Two boxwoods, a 'mops', and pink dogwood tree were planted.

The whole process was relatively painless. Jeff did everything he could to meet our demands. A few things went wrong... The first day the deck was framed, the dimensions were wrong. I was expecting to have to fight to get it done the way I wanted. Oh so very pleasantly, I came home from work to see it done the way I wanted! The walkway around the pond was a difficult job. Jeff's main carpenter reworked it 3 times to make sure that it was done up to my expectations. Even with a few bumps in the road, the finished product was better than I ever expected!
Description of Work: Jeff and his crew removed an aging deck from my backyard which was no easy task. It is a small yard with difficult access. They worked very hard to get the job done in a short amount of time so we would still be able to access our garage. Then they proceeded to build a new improved deck, install a paver patio, reside and move our hottub, and build a new walkway around our pond.

Overall went very well. I think Jeff is very busy and they showed up to do the job, several weeks after we had discussed, but I was understanding the delay since it was a relatively small job for him.
Description of Work: I hired Jeff to replace a retaining wall along my sunken driveway down toward my garage. My existing wall was failing, bulging, and going to collapse. Jeff's team took down existing wall and replaced with retaining wall block. At same time transplanted a dogwood tree into backyard. In addition sold me a 30ft 5in caliper Red Sunset Maple and installed in backyard. After all the work I hired to take out bushes in between my driveway and neighbor's driveway and he will be installing another retaining wall in it's place.

We hired Jeff based on price - we had three estimates - and on Angie's list reports. We were extremely pleased with the outcome of his work. The job started a little later than expected due to bad weather conditions. The job was tough and it took a long time since they had to fit every stone individually, cutting and chiseling the natural stones to fit to the next piece like a puzzle. We would hire him again.
Description of Work: Jeff's crew installed a natural stone border around all our flower beds and a low retaining wall around a mound in our backyard. The cost above is only for their labor, since we paid the stone supplier directly.

Jeff was one of about 5 companies we had come out to bid on the project. His bid was the lowest and he had some really new and interesting ideas that he wanted to include. He took into account all of out wishes and concerns and worked with us. The overall product was great. We are receiving a ton of compliments and actually feel like we can hang out outside again. There are a lot of pluses working with Jeff. I had assumed that I would do a little of the landscaping myself to save a little money and I enjoy it. Jeff supplied the materials (top soil) at no cost. he even laid the wiring in for the lighting to be done later. the flat stone counter top was his idea and the blue stone inserts on the patio were his as well and we think they came out awesome. If I had to think of any negatives I would say the weather (rain) caused a problem by pushing back all of his jobs so ours took a little longer than expected. The only other negative was that when Jeff wasn't around the crew was kind of lazy. But when Jeff was there they were busy all get out. That being said, I have no idea how to lay pavers but I do know the quality is phenomenal. And when I had a problem with the seams in the sitting wall not being even, Jeff went and got some more stone and did it right with no issues or questions asked. I would definitely recommend Jeff to anyone who asks and I can't wait till the grass grows back to take some more pictures.
Description of Work: We had a new patio built with a 6' stand alone counter top, steps, fire pit and sitting wall. In all it was about 500 sq. ft.

Overall, the job went well. The retaining wall was great and the lawn came together nicely. I enjoyed working with Jeff and appreciated his honesty. He was very helpful in recommending me to Angie's List to find other vendor, and letting me know what project would be better suited for those other vendor partners. I was, however, a little disappointed that the Leveridge team didn't clean up after themselves completely when the two-day sod job was finished. Once they left on the last day, I found excess pieces of sod just sitting on this finished lawn or tossed in the bushes. The team also left a broken tool and broom in my side yard, which could have easily been thrown away. Additionally, I also was surprised I didn't get any follow up communication after the job was fully complete to make sure everything looked job and that the grass was coming in nicely. I also was hoping they would provide some tips on treating the new lawn (which was our first). I thought about reaching out to them, but then just chatted with a neighbor. That being said, I was very happy with the work completed and thought it was money well spent. I would, and will, consider Leveridge for future landscaping jobs.

He was repairing a prior surface so I didn't spend anything. He's very good at the initial stuff and very poor in finalizing details at the end. You've got very good big picture and he's very responsive initially, but when it comes down to finishing it up in getting the site cleaned up and just finishing the final details, he fails miserably. He's very conscious of when he needs to be paid and he'll follow up and expect his money even when the job is not complete. We exchanged our views about it and we sort of agreed not to work with each other in the future. The workmanship depends on what the project is. It's mediocre. He built a big retaining wall and big brick patio for me and he had to come back three times to repair it. The whole thing started sinking and falling apart and cracking. He was just repairing the original job that he did a couple of years ago. He did come back and repair it although he shouldn't have had to come back. I wouldn't give him very good grades. I would not use him in the future.

Jeff did a large paver patio for us that was two levels and a firepit in the lower level, along with a small retention wall to come down a hill to our back yard. He gave us a great referral for a pond (Corey and True NOrth Landscaping) and the pond turned out great- his expertise was not in water features, so he recommended someone who specialized in them.
Description of Work: All I would like to say is that I read Angie's List before using Jeff and his company- I told my husband he had two penalty boxes against him and numerous complaints about him not returning to finish or correct issues with the job.......I told Jeff I had read his penalty boxes also-we went with him anyway- his price was very good, he was here to start right on time ( it was at the very beginning of spring) and he got the job done within the time he said. It looked beautiful and the design turned out very nice. We love out paver patio- BUT we have water standing in several places and have tried unsuccessfully ALL SUMMER to get him back out here to correct the problem areas with NO results! We told him once when trying to get them back out here to fix some things, there was only one week they we didn't want them here working on it due to a family reunion at our home with family here from California and wouldn't you know that was the ONLY time someone showed up and if we hadn't been outside when they came, we probably would have come home to a mess when hosting the family reunion and needed the patio! So needless to say we are left unhappy with his follow up and are still hoping we can get him out here next spring to correct the standing water issue and also replace some bricks he was supposed to do to finish some trim around the bottom of the house. Hopefully the pavers were installed correctly and won't be popping up next summer, but so far so good. I really wanted to give him a great referral- we live in a new neighborhood and had many people comment on our patio and several were looking for someone to do their patios, but at this point, I could not, in good faith, recommend him.....sorry. Hope he will make this right, because $10,000.00 is a lot of money to us to spend......and we were really easy to work with-he has had many customers that have not been so nice. So, Angie's List was right on target with the info on this company!

Jeff made great suggestions in both the layout, and the pavers themselves. They started on schedule and finished on time. It looks great, and they were right on budget. Jeff was very accessible and responsive. Of note is that his crew accidentally cut the power line to our dock/dock lights. He reported this to me immediately, and assured me that he has an electrician on call who handles things like this. The electrician was at our house fixing things, at Jeff's cost, the next day, so despite the cut line, it didn't cause a problem. All in all, this was a good experience, and I would use them again.

Overall the work went quite well. Jeff was helpful and responsive to our requests. The price was very good. The problems we encountered were trying to get them to complete the "details" at the end of the job. It took months to finally get everything done and we finally resorted to completing some of the work ourselves just to get the project finished.

I highly recommend Leveridge and will be calling him again soon. He is a very busy man, so don't be deterred by the amount of time it may take to receive a call back. The price, quality of work, and professionalism will be worth it.
Description of Work: Jeff did work for us on two occasions. The first time he built a retaining wall of stone along our back yard along the lake. The wall looks fantastic and has definitely added to the overall appearance of the house. His pricing was very fair and the work was done in a very acceptable amount of time. The crew was courteous and they cleaned up after themselves also. The second job was to put in 9 limestone slabs/steps leading up to the back patio. These steps were exactly what we were looking for. We get compliments on them all the time.

On side of house, I have a steep grade. After 25 years, railroad timbers had all but rotted away. My house is built half out of siding and half out of mortared Indiana limestone. I had many pieces of limestone left over from house build many years ago. My wife and I wanted to find a landscaper/wall-builder that would be willing and capable of building a wall using this spare limestone. Got 4 quotes. Two quotes for about 1450, one for over 3000, and one for over $2000. Leveridge quoted $1450 to remove and haul away old railroad timbers, and use existing stone to rebuild a retaining wall (2 foot high by many feet long). Did very good job. Been 5 years now and wall still looks good and is holding together well.
