This contractor simply didn't do the work that he promised to do. Yes, he didn't get the money because the transaction wasn't done He simply quit on the job that he promised to do. I was not trying to hurt his reputation since I only know him through Angie's list. What would I gain from that? I wrote that review simply because this contractor is unprofessional, and I want others to be careful while asking for service from him since consumers on Angie's List would do the same for me. About a week after he never returned my email/call, I got hold of another contractor who is very professional, hard-working, and asked for a much lower price ($250). Thank you for not working on my house! Just think about sending an email (see the third email below) about an hour right before his promised starting work time (and I contacted him multiple times later, and never got back). Here is the thread of our emails, and I will not follow up because this is enough for an incident like that. Please improve your work ethics, and don't pick on jobs based on who the consumer is! It went well, but the service provided was worth significantly less than what I paid.

They were very good. I would recommend them. They did a great job. They were here when they said they were going to be here and did exactly what they said they would do. We were okay with their work.

I requested a reply within 2 business days and did not hear from them

The workman did not show up at the appointed time. I contacted the company and they sent a workman right out. He resealed the skylight and removed a large birds nest from the vent. We asked him to check the fan because it didn't work anymore. he checked the fan and said it needed to be replaced. The workman got right to work and conducted himself professionally. I would use Home Experts again.

Ken Bennett arranged a meeting with me on May 12th through the Angie's List message system. He did not show up for this meeting. I tried calling him and he did no answer. I messaged him through the message system to arrange another meeting with him on May 21st, which again, he did not show up for. Since I have to take time off of work for each meeting it is unacceptable.

The 2 individuals that showed up were punctual and personable. They got to the job and worked a steady 2 hours per the order. Work was done well. I would definitely get this company again in the future when I have general work.

It went great. They had great communication and prompt in getting back with me. I chose to hold off on the project at this time.

Bob arrived as scheduled and performed the jobs in a very professional manner. There was no inconvenience to us and his prep and cleanup was great. This was an excellent company to deal with from the initial contact through the completion of the job. They will be the first one I call next time I need a handyman.

These guys did a great job of moving a lighting fixture in my kitchen that required a new box to be roughed in while snaking the electrical wiring. They also hung a large entry way light in our foyer which required scaffolding to be set up. These guys were obviously experienced and made the job a breeze to complete. Their pricing was fair and the owner was great at communicating through the entire project.

The work they completed, though slow, was done well. The problem is they did not complete all of the tasks I wanted done. I had 2 window AC units I wanted to be installed in horizontally sliding windows. I contacted Ken prior to purchasing the deal on Angie's List to ensure he could do everything I needed. At that time he told me that he could do everything on my list. I confirmed with him a few days later to double-check I hadn't misunderstood and to ensure I could get everything done that I had on my list. He confirmed he could. Then, once I purchased the deal, he emailed me and said he didn't think they'd be able to do the window AC units. I called him concerned because he had previously told me that he could do them. He said he'd show up on Monday, May 12 at 6:00pm and we could figure it out. Only he never showed up. He sent one of his workers to do the job, which is fine, I understand he is running a business and has more jobs. But the worker talked about 3 things on my list, and didn't even mention the window AC units. When I asked about them, he said Ken would have to get in touch with me to figure that out. So basically he sent a worker to complete the 2 hours of service that was purchased, but sent him with no intention of completing everything I needed done, even though we had discussed that previously, so that he could presumably charge me to do it at a different time. I understand that when you purchase 2 hours of service, you get 2 hours of service. But Ken even asked me before I purchased the deal that if the 2 hours expired, would I want them to stop or to continue at a higher rate in order to finish the job. I said I wanted the job completed. He also told me ahead of time that the materials aren't included in the deal, only the labor, but he could charge me for the costs of materials if I wanted him to. I confirmed with him again ahead of purchasing the deal that this was an option and he confirmed he could get the materials and charge me for them. Again, the work that was completed was done fine. The worker that he sent was good, although he was a little slow (the 3 completed tasks described above definitely shouldn't have taken 2 hours). But the problem is Ken told me one thing basically to get me to purchase the deal, and then went against what he told me after it was purchased. Then, after I emailed him to ask about the window AC units, he told me that he had sent me a message on 5/11 saying how he had concerns about installing the window AC units, which is true, he did tell me that. But that was after I purchased the deal on 5/10. I emailed him back and told him I agreed he said that on 5/11, but I then copied emails that we exchanged from 5/7 where he confirmed he could do the job that I wanted done. Funny but I never heard back from him after that.

The gentleman originally quoted a price of $350, but the technician ended up charging $450 after finishing the work. One of the steps wasn't probably aligned, too. Once I called the company about this, however, it refunded the amount overcharged and sent someone back who adjusted the step to my satisfaction.

Bob from Home Experts did a great job with a screen door repair and cabinet door repair. We had an initial problem with scheduling, but Ken was able to send someone out on another day.

I have used Ken several times over the years. The first one or two experiences were fine. After that, communication became very poor (a pattern noted throughout reviews). It is my own fault for asking him to do work for us again, because the multitude of emails I have dating back several years shows that I have repeatedly had to ask Ken to send estimates because he failed to do so. The experience I have had recently is the final straw. We had initially asked about a skylight estimate/repair back in the fall (a strange experience, because he sent his brother out to look at the skylight instead of coming himself, and the interaction was very odd), and as has been the case in the past, it took more than one email and quite a while to get the estimated pricing that he was supposed to send within days. Because of time constraints and nasty winter weather, we didn't actually decide to move forward with any work until April, by which time we also wanted to have other work done. Ken was very responsive to the request to provide an estimate for the other work. However, once again, we fell into the pattern where he either did not send the estimate/requested info or sent an email that did not list all of the items that were supposed to be priced. This took several emails and most of a month to sort out. When we finally got to the date that the work was to be done, the person who showed up told my husband that he would only be doing part of the work. I emailed Ken about this, expressing my frustration with his poor communication and the fact that he had not informed us that only some of the work was going to be done on the scheduled date. (Rearranging work schedules so someone can be there is not easy, and it appeared we were going to have to do it again.) Ken did send another worker that afternoon to complete the other projects, but his email response indicated that his poor communication was because "With the lapses in your emails I made the wrong assumption that you were not in a hurry." I responded by pointing out that the only lapse in my emails was the long gap in time between the first estimate and when we decided we were having work done in April. I then pointed him to numerous emails throughout April asking him to provide information that he had not provided when he said he would. (Even if there HAD been lapses in my email, I'm not sure how that would excuse a professional from providing in a timely manner the estimates he said that he would provide or from failing to notify a homeowner that not all of the work was going to be done on the single date that was scheduled.) When the second worker showed up to do the ceiling repairs, for which we were being charged $220, he told my husband that there actually was no drywall damage and that it was a simple matter of plaster repair. He did this quickly and was gone in under 45 minutes. I emailed Ken to ask for a revision in the pricing, because this turned out to be such a minor issue. This is Ken's response: "There will be no revised pricing, the repairs we made and corrected and done professionally. He charged me 150.000 for the repairs, I have given you the estimate, we do not work by the hour. I am not sure why you are always so bitter and direct. I would like to get paid for the work we have done and it would be best for you to find someone else to take care of the flashing since you think we are always trying to take advantage on pricing. Total due is 780.00" I would like to note that this is the only time I had even mentioned pricing, so his assertion that I think he is "always trying to take advantage on pricing" is completely false. Having said that, I will state for the purposes of this review that his company's work is variable in quality and that his prices are too high -- however, I had never said that to him. Ken does appear to have a number of satisfied customers giving him reviews, but there is also a significant pattern of complaints about his poor communication, and my experience is that Ken never takes responsibility for this or offers an acceptable explanation for his terrible follow-through with estimates and scheduling. Additionally, I appear to be at least the second customer he has described as "bitter" for expressing dissatisfaction with him. I rarely take the time to write a review, whether pleased or displeased with a service, but his last email was so inappropriate that there was no way I was letting this one slide. Please save yourself a lot of aggravation (and personal insults) and find a different contractor/handyman for your projects. *Updating to note that the new grout on our bathroom floor does not match the existing grout in color. We were told it would darken in a day or so, but it did not. We were charged $80 for this.

It went great. He had a challenge with the exterior outlet because he had to go through brick. That is a difficult thing to do. He did what he had to do and he got it done.

It was really good. They did some small stuff that time and then I had them back to do more. I think he only charged me $50 because it ended up not being that big a job.

They did a lot of work for me. They created a TV shelf in the basement and worked on a deck. They tiled a back splash and they also did some minor things which I don't remember. I might use them again for little things.

It went really well. Thwey did a fabulous job. They gave us a quote and came out quickly to get the work done. They really did a great job.

They did a good job. There were 2 visits. First one guy came out to look at what work I wanted done and to give me an idea of how long it would take and what materials I'd need to have. I was a little annoyed because I had to send a follow-up message to get this information instead of it being sent next day as stated. When the two guys showed up on the scheduled day, they showed up early. (Which is awesome. So many of the other contractors I've dealt with lately show up later!). They were very friendly and finished the work even quicker than the estimate. They did a good job and even helped my dad on a few extra projects. However, the material he asked me to get was off by a lot. I spent $100 on screen and spline and they didn't use half of it! Spline I could take back but the screen I spent way too much on. :-/. All in all I would recommend and would use again in the future.

Prompt and friendly service that fit my schedule!

I really enjoyed the man who came out to paint my spot on my ceiling! He was at my place early/ on time. He was nice and the job was very simple and my ceiling looks like new. I was scared the paint would stand out after he was done but it didn't. Great work!

Danny did a wonderful job and matched up the ceiling texture wonderfully. Will definitely use them again for drywall repairs in the future

He said he was on interstate and would call me back in 10 minutes. He never returned my phone call.

Had a very great experience. The repair was done very professionally. A request to change out the door sweep to a different color required the service man to make a second trip to Lowes. He did so without batting an eye. He made sure everything was done to our satisfaction, carefully cleaned the space, and took the trash pieces with him. I would highly recommend this service provider.

It was great! The floor looks great. He was quick and pretty patient with my 2.5 yr old son who wanted to help.
