I am selling my home and the buyer had the inspection last Saturday 09/26/09. My house is 25 years old and a couple of the pipes did not look like they were in good shape. Even though there wasn't much of a mess in the crawlspace. Thanks goodness. Ben came to my home right at 3:00 as we had scheduled. I showed him the inspection report and pictures. He diagnosed everything that was wrong. Called and got the price and replaced everything. He was there at least 3 1/2 hours. He checked that everything was in working condition before left. He was very polite. Professional and really helped me out. Thanks, Ben

They were good. They did what they said they would do. They were reasonably priced. They did all kinds of jobs. They did work on the sump pump and installed faucets.

The serviceman arrived on time and knew exactly what needed to be done and how to do it before even speaking to me. The serviceman told me what and why he was going to do to unclog the sewer line. He started uclogging the sewer line in a logical and efficient process which took him just a little over an hour. All my question were answered and the service excellent and as an owner of an older home I will be calling Bedell again.

They were very knowledgeable, good and fast but they wanted to up sell me. They told me that I had cheap toilets and that?s what was causing the problem. They recommended new toilets to me. I knew I had to buy better toilets. I wanted to buy the toilets and get it installed but they wanted to sell me the whole deal. They wanted to sell the toilet and also install it. I will still use them again. I understand that they need to do business. They knew what they are doing.

The person who came out was well informed and told me about a product which I could buy and use every month. He suggested I look for it on line to find where it was sold. He said it would work beautifully in our drains and keep us from calling a plumber. It was called Bioclean and I purchased it because of him. I will be using it shortly. I thought that it was unusual for a plumber to suggest something that would affect his business. The drain in my upstairs bathroom was stopped up. I have used them before and I have had very good results. They have done good work for me in the past. His last visit was very good because he has given me something that will stop me from having to call him. Their prices are reasonable. They come right out. On occasions I have called them early in the morning and they have sent somebody by 10 o?clock on the same day to check it out. My daughter and I have an apartment and when we call them for something, they come almost immediately.

I would have liked to understood more about the pressure reducing valve and the thermal expansion tank. Are all Indpls water company customers having to get their pressure measured and this installed when they buy a new softener or heater? Might be a topic for Angie's List. The two installers were efficient and polite

Bedell was supposed to install two drains in my basement on a Thursday. I received a call at 7:15AM that morning telling me that one of the guys was sick and they would come on Friday (I had a Saturday deadline to get the work done). When they finally showed up Friday morning, they told me the scope of the work was much more than they had estimated--almost TWICE as much. After changing their estimate from $1500 to $2600, I spoke to the owner who advised me he "could not lose money on this deal" and that it would "require two guys to work two days" to put in the drains. After they really put me in a bad position, I called Ben Franklin Plumbing which had given me an estimate of $1366 (I went with Bedell because of the better feedback on Angies List). Ben Franklin came that afternoon and it took ONE guy less than 6 hours to complete the job. I will not trust Bedell Plumbing with any of my future needs.

I used them basically because they were on Angie?s list and my son-in-law knew them. They were very nice. Mr. Bedell came and gave me an estimate for everything I wanted to be done. The new toilet leaked a couple of times and they were here immediately to fix it. They are very reliable.

I scheduled the visit one week in advance. The person who arrived at my house was on time and slightly professional. He kept asking my opinion of what was going on, as he determined the true starting point of the leak. I was working from home and felt that it was his responsibility to figure it out. He did figure it out after 2 hours, which ended up costing $210. In the end, he couldn't help me - which wasn't his fault but it certainly took a very long time to figure it out. However, he did offer to put in a job request for a tile man that works with Bedell, to come out and provide an estimate to replace the tile. What I'm not pleased with is that I still have not received a call from the tile guy. Because of that - they have lost my business. It's been over a month.

DON'T USE THEM. There are other reputable companies on the List worthy of your business. I am extremely disappointed. They fixed the leak but ruined my bathtub and they don't care. When I told them about the enamel they chipped off they got defensive and kept saying "But is it leaking anymore?" Then they said I was looking to get something for free, which is not true. I just expected the tub to look the same before and after they worked on it. It is unacceptable to damage someone's property and then accuse them of trying to get something for free. They said that they wouldn't fix it and that the bathtub needs replaced and they'd credit my $350 towards a new tub. So basically, they ruined my tub to try to get me to purchase a new tub from them. This was a very frustrating experience - especially how they said I was trying to get something for free when THEY were the ones being manipulative by telling me I need a new bathtub. I wouldn't need a new bathtub if THEY wouldn't have ruined the one I have! The pictures I included speak for themselves. I do not think it is too much to ask for my bathtub to be in the same condition it was before they worked on it. If I went somewhere to get an oil change and they scratched my car, I would expect them to fix the scratch rather than try to sell me a new car. Also, I emailed them to let them know about the problem with the tub and instead of responding via phone or email they showed up unannounced "cop-knocking" on the door. I don't know the guys name that showed up (my husband was home on his lunch break) but my husband said he was rude. And given my other dealings with Bedell that seems accurate. Oh - and the drain they installed is a cheap one. AND they didn't give me my AL discount.

They were punctual and responsive to my needs. They acted professionally and I would hire them again the future.

I am very happy with them. The price was reasonable for what they did. They arrived very promptly.

The toilet job was much easier than anticipated according to comments the plumber made. It was completed within 3 hours.

While I haven't gotten the grill yet, I'm ready to go. Jason came out when there was nothing there. He looked the area over, and got back to me with an extimate. I thought it was reasonable and he said he could do the job without any problem and he did. I wasn't home when he did the work, but I relayed to him what I wanted done and he did exactly what I asked for, for the price quoted weeks earlier. I'd hire Bedell plumbing and Jason again without any hesitation.

Generally the experience was good the problem was the weather. They came out and got the ditch partially done and put the dirt over the neighbor?s lawn. We were unable to ask about it to our neighbor?s as they were not there. They were quite angry about it after they returned and they still are. The plumbers did not clean up as well as they could have. We really ended up with a big mess from December through March. I am not sure if others would have done a better job because the weather was terrible; the ground froze after they dug the ditch, it rained really hard and everything froze in huge blocks. It was a mess. They had to come back to settle it but they kept warning to wait longer than the end of March and its still settling. They gave us one price but ultimately we ended up paying a lot more than we expected. They could have come a week before to do the job but they didn?t.

On-time, polite, worked quickly, cleaned up work areas well, and final cost matched repair estimates given over the phone.

They are very thorough and let us know exactly what was wrong. I spoke with Jay over the phone and he provided alot of information which was helpful if the problem occurred again. We have used them a few times in the past and have had Danny and Brian, each being very good.

Dave Pike goes above and beyond in his duties to do a fantastic job. You can really tell he takes pride in his work. Very clean, polite and hardworker. Would request him specifically on future jobs!!

They had a cancellation, so Brian came within 15 min., of my calling the company. Brian went right to work checking the problem, and giving us an estimate of what the project would cost. He repaired it right away. Of course, only time will tell whether that was the only leak, and whether it is fixed. But for now, everything seems satisfactory.

This is my second time using Bedell Plumbing for a plumbing issue. I was again impressed with the company and employees. They would have come out the same day if I had been available. Dave was very prompt and professional. He attempted to keep my costs to a minimum. He fully explained the problem and the steps taken to correct it. He completely cleaned up the mess from the repair. Was also very respectful of my home, making sure he wore disposable booties.

They are very responsive and he stuck with it until he found out what the problem was. I will continue to use them.

We asked the plumber to come and look at two hose bibs that were leaking. He came out and looked and told me both of them would have to be replaced at a cost of $175/ea., and that this would require taking out drywall in my garage and finished basement ceiling. When I called my husband to discuss it, he then said he might just be able to replace the vacuum sealers, but he would have to come back with them the next day after finding them from his source and there would be an additional $105 fee, plus materials. My husband was able to find them at a local distributor for $15.00 each and installed them himself. I feel that this individual was trying to "take" me because I don't know anything about plumbing--since he quickly changed his tune after talking to my husband. I was very disappointed with their service and will not use them or recommend them to anyone.

I called in the morning asking if they could replace our water heater, they came out that same afternoon and the job was done the same day. They were courteous and neat.

Great overview!! Checked equipment, told me the problem & told me the approx cost. I told him to go ahead. Cost was a bit less than I thought it would be.
