I wanted the motor from the hot tub removed from the basement. I called a spa company and they advised they don't remove spas, but gave me a warning that I should call a professional plumber, rather than a handyman, to do the job. I looked on 'the list' and found Bedell Plumbing. I called and told them what I needed and they said they could have a plumber at my house in two days for an estimate, and if I decided to do it, they could do it that day. The plumber came to the house and immediately gave me a best case and worst case price. I said, lets do it! The plumber worked quickly and in a few hours, had that entire area cleaned up and was gone. I got the 'best case' price and lots of additional room in my basement! Thank you Bedell! Great job! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a fair deal and a professional job.
Description of Work: I had an old hot tub in the basement that we covered up the 'tub' part due to lack of use. We still had a huge motor in the unfinished part of the basement with 4 big pipes that left an opening in our basement wall, leading to the hot tub. We wanted that big motor, etc, out of the basement so we could utilize the room it took up. Bedell removed the motor and took it all away!

I was having some work done in my home which required the washing machine to be moved. When the worker disconnected the washing machine the valve broke off. I knew when I moved into the home the valve would have to be replaced. I called Bedel and they were able to schedule me in. The worker arrived early and assessed the situation and gave me the estimate. It was what I had been quoted over the phone so nice to not have a surprise. He performed the work and then graciously waited while the washer was moved back and then hooked up. The work was quickly and professionally carried out. Valve and hoses were replaced

Short version: Bedell's Plumbing replaced a gas hot water heater in our home that was not properly vented. This put our family at serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Not being a plumber and relying on their presumed expertise, we had no idea of this potentially dangerous situation. After contacting Bedell?s, they have gone from initially giving us misinformation to being totally unresponsive and rude via phone contact. We are now stuck with an expensive two year old hot water heater that is potentially dangerous and therfore useless for our family. Longer version: I was out of town (of course) when the hot water heater went out. My wife contacted Bedell?s Plumbing to replace our old unit. As far as we knew, everything was good. However, shortly after the installation, another plumbing company doing a whole house plumbing inspection (Big deal via Angie?s list) informed me that our hot water heater was not properly vented. I was told by this independent plumbing company that our new 75 gallon unit (installed by Bedell?s) required a 4in b-vent line, not the 3in b-vent line in place. Immediately after being informed of this, I contacted Bedell?s and reported what I was told during this inspection. Bedell?s told me that the other plumbing company did not know what they were talking about and the unit they installed was specially designed for a 3in line. I took Bedell?s for their word. However, last week, I had another company installing insulation in my crawl space adjacent to the hot water heater. These workers walked off the job due to the potential of carbon monoxide poisoning due to our improperly vented hot water heater. They reported that we needed a 4in vent line, not the 3in vent line and they could not complete the insulation work until this issue was resolved. I then called a well-known chimney company (highly rated on Angie?s list) and they reported the same issue to me. The venting on the hot water was incorrect and they could not believe that Bedell?s would install this system and potentially expose our family to carbon monoxide. In fact, they strongly recommended that we shut down the hot water heater unit immediately due to the risk of carbon monoxide exposure. After getting this information from three independent sources, I again called Bedell?s. Bedell?s was totally unhelpful and even quite rude over the phone. They told me they were not possibly responsible for this, they just installed a hot water heater and had nothing to do with venting the unit. It?s true that they did not install the 3in b-vent, which is original to the home. However, they should never have installed an improperly vented hot water heater unit. They should of informed us of this problem and suggested alternatives such as a power vent or tank-less unit. The problem is that we cannot use this unit since upgrading to 4in b-vent would be very, very costly (2 to 3 grand or more). Surprisingly, Bedell?s told me that for a $~120 service call fee, they would come out to look at the situation. The sad thing is that this is potentially a highly dangerous situation to our family. Bedell's did not seem to care. You would think that Bedell?s would be quick to work with us due to their potential for serious, serious liability from potential carbon monoxide exposure. UPDATE: In response to Bedell's comments. The unit they replaced was not the original water heater installed in 1989. Apparently a previous owner increased the size. Yes, they should have found this problem, which has been obvious to every other person trained in this area who has looked at the water heater. Bedell decided to do nothing and was nasty too. Don't use them!! I suppose they are fine if everything goes as planned. However, they don't know how to deal with problems, which often happen with home repairs.

Had a water heater go out on a cold sunday. Called and spoke with owner and had a truck here with the right part of the truck within an hour or so of calling. Total job was done professionally within an hour and a half, with the mess cleaned and the old water heater taken out, all for a lot less than another quote we received. Would totally recommend Bedell Plumbing.

I am not satisfied. I don't believe I need the big tank that they put on the side of my water heater, which is why the bill was so high. I just wanted a water heater installed. Before he left, I gave him a $1400.00 check, then he said I needed new pipes which was going to be an additional $225.00. I didn't see anything wrong with my pipes, but I gave him a seperate check for that. I also called the plumber and he did not answer me to my satisfaction at all. I don't know anyone else that got a water heater and had to have a thermal tank put on. I found nails the other day near where he had my hose connected from the water heater to the sump pump. When I called the plumber, they said they don't clean up, so I did.
Description of Work: The installed a $90 water heater, they added a big tank (called a thermal span) on the side of it, which I don't want and don't think I need.

Member had very high water preassure that caused her water heater to fail, the home also had very worn pipes that needed replaced. We gave a quote on needed repairs and member agreed to replace her water heater and install a preasure regulating system. Her old water heater left rust stains on the floor, to correct would require chemical cleaning or paint, not part of our usual clean-up. We had a new replacement heater on our truck but member wanted same heater that she had in place so at no extra charge we drove across town and bought her the same brand heater she requested. Upon completing the install of the heater we found a bad spot on a pipe that showed signs of a leak in the past and she agreed to replace as needed. After completing all work we collected for our services and left a happy customer.... One week later I got a call asking me if she needed the expantion tank that was installed on her heater as part of the preasure regulator system. I told her this was to correct thermal expansion, and it is a needed part. I suggested she could get a second opinion. thank you ....Jay T. Bedell....

I was able to schedule an appointment for the very morning I called. Instead of an hours-long window of time for the appointment, I was able to select an exact time for service, and the repairman Eric was present exactly on time. I had been told the cost for the replacement of my garbage disposal (barring unforeseen problems) and the model of replacement ahead of time. Eric was knowledgeable and professional and completed his work in a timely manner. This was one of the most convenient and pleasant experiences I've had with any repair service (thanks Jay) and I will, without question, use Bedell in the future for all plumbing needs.

I called Bedell Plumbing because the water shut off valve to the toilet was stripped and would not turn off. The overflow tube inside the toilet was broken and the water was continuously running through the toilet and we were not able to turn the water off. I also asked them if the serviced gas fireplaces and he said he would take a look to see if it was something they could do (depending on the problem, model, age, etc.) They were very professional and courteous on the phone and scheduled an appointment with me for the next morning. The technician, Patrick, arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and quickly assessed the problem and repaired it. He then took a look at the fireplace and determined it was something he could fix but a part would have to be ordered. He ordered the part and scheduled a followup appointment for the following Monday to install it. He arrived on time and quickly fixed the problem. Patrick was very friendly and professional. I appreciated his timeliness and attention to detail.

Called early a.m. with no hot water, had a plumber here within an hour. Installed new 50 gallon gas water heater & a water pressure system for home. Neat, quick work. Hauled away our broken, ancient water heater. Six year warranty on new one. Not 100% crazy about the lower water pressure, but I guess it is healthier for our plumbing - and bonus, the drip in shower disappeared too. Thanks Bedell, will use again (hopefully not so soon though).

My kitchen faucet was dripping. I watched several You Tube videos on the repair. I then took it apart to repair it. I have the built in hose and the work got very complicated. I called the plumber and within 6 hours they arrived (Bedell Plumbing initially said it would take a day since they were very busy). The plumber noted that this was not a simple job and with some work, he fixed the faucet. My wife was impressed with the results noting that the faucet not works better than when it was new. The cost to repair the faucet was much less than a new faucet. The plumber was excellent. Lesson learned: Do not take apart kitchen faucets completely apart with built in hoses.

Just moved in and needed a gas line run for our dryer. I told them the incorrect distance from the gas hookup to the laundry room. They still went ahead and measured everything out and gave me a revised quote. Since they needed more line than they had anticipated, they offered to come right back the next morning to complete the job. They did, and everything works just great! Both of the gentleman that came both days were very professional, answered all my questions, were very polite, and punctual. I will definitely be using their services in the future. It was so nice to deal with professionals from the first phone call through to the installation.

Bedell Plumbing is very professional and had a great sense of urgency to help us replace our 10 year old hot water heater. The water heater was leaking from the top early one morning. By the end of the work day, Bedell had been here and replaced the old one with a new 75 gallon water heater. The price was competitive as we did check around. We are a repeat customer of Bedell as they repaired our kitchen sink plumbing a couple of years ago. The are courteous and respectful to the customer. We will use Bedell again, if needed.

I called Bedell's Plumbing on Tuesday because our water heater wasn't working - we only had cold water. I spoke with Jay (he answered the phone, no voice mail to have to wade through!). He said he could send someone out before noon, and Walter was here by 11:00. After checking out the water heater, he determined that it could not be repaired and gave me a quote for installation of a new one. Since the water heater wasn't very old, I started looking around for my sales receipt, and discovered, to my surprise, that we had purchased an extended warranty which was still in effect. I wanted to pursue that claim since we would be entitled to a free replacement. I thanked Walter for his time and asked him what I owed him for the service call, and he said there was no charge, which I thought was very generous. I contacted Lowes, who we purchased the warranty from, and they gave me the phone number of the company they contract with to do their warranty work. When I called them that same day, they said they couldn't come out for 3 days. To make a long story short, they ordered parts, which took 5 more days to arrive, and even after installing the new parts, the water heater still didn't work. They never offered to replace it, they just wanted to keep looking for ways to fix it. We were without hot water for nine days! By this time, my husband and I were so frustrated, that we no longer cared about the warranty, or the remote possibility of a free replacement. I called Bedell's Plumbing, spoke with Jay and he sent a plumber out the same day to install a new water heater. I wasn't home at the time, so didn't get to meet him and learn his name, but my husband was very impressed with the work that he did. He was in and out in just an hour and we were so thankful to have hot water again! I also learned that they do complete bath and kitchen remodels, so we are getting a quote on our master bathroom. If you want prompt and professional service, and like to talk to a human being instead of voicemail, you will love Bedell's Plumbing! Everyone we've been in contact with has been just wonderful to work with! You won't be disappointed! P.S. Word to the wise -- don't ever buy an Extended Warranty for anything - we learned our lesson!

First off, I called on a Friday at 11am, initially availability for non emergency was Monday. Asked if any chance for same day, "No problem, can't guarantee a time exactly but we can call before we arrive, say 30 mins before". Perfect solution, meant no more dripping shower head noise while trying to go to sleep tonight! Shower head was leaking due to the valve being worn out. Came to house, diagnosed issue, showed issue, replaced worn out parts, shower fixed. Plumber was professional, uniformed and polite. Felt it was a little pricey but probably because the plumber was in and out in 30 mins. Price did include parts.

I use him all the time and I've been using for years. He comes no matter what the day is, Christmas, New Year, or whatever. They bring in their own turf, they bring in their own buckets, they bring everything in. They even bring in a shop-vac and clean it all up when they're done.
Description of Work: We use Bedell Plumbing Inc for plumbing. We had a serious clog in the sewer drain of one of our units and he snaked down the drain. He made a few trips out here, pulled the toilets, snaked out the drain, and then finally they came out with a camera and they put a camera down the drain to see what the problem was.
