Everything went great. They were quickly able to determine that the well pump was not working since the pressure switch was on, but the pump was not. He explained what options I had and the costs associated with each. Planning to replace the well pump, he went to pull it from the well. He discovered a tear in the wiring of the pump. We instead decided to simply replace the wiring. We were up and running again. We decided to go ahead and replace the pressure pump (which was working, but felt it could be nearing the end of its useful life) while he was here. Took only about 10 mins. I have used this company before to clean out our well. I will continue to recommend and use them.

After 26 yrs in this house (on well and septic) the pump pressure dropped to from 40 psi 25 psi. Another outfit diagnosed it as a leak in the well pipe which would eventually fail. I was hoping for a pressure tank issue. For 26 yrs we suspected/ feared the well might be under a crawl space of an addition to the house that was constructed b4 we bought it. A call to the archtect assured us that no one would ever do that. Even the well folks thought this unlikely. I, pessimist that I am, suspected the worst. C&J located the well under our dining room. Whoopie! Instead of fixing the old well, we ended up drilling a new one. The price was 6x higher because of this, ouch!! I wondered if drilling a hole thru the dining room roof and tile floor might be cheaper, especially if we struck oil. OK, I went for the pricier higher horsepower constant pressure pump. Instead of 40 psi we now have 70 psi with the option of raising it to 100 psi. I was a little concerned that all my shower heads would come flying off and any aneurisms in my plumbing would be exposed. So far, only one toilet valve has blown and my softner system stopped backwashing. I fixed these 2 problems myself with a bit of labor and no $ for parts (read my Aqua systems review). And, I'm the hero to all the females in my house. I now have a computer and digital readout (not to mention a mini tank) in my semi-scuzzy basement above my softener unit. When the well is pumping, I see little lights moving up a drawing of a pipe from a drawing of a pump. If the well runs dry, I'll see a red light come on and see a electronic representation of this on the computer. I opted out of the accompanying audio of descending 'WAH WAH WAH WAH's (think CAR GUYs when they get it wrong). I now spend hours down there watching the pump come on. I dropped cableTV because of this and am saving about $100/ mo. At that rate, I'll have this baby paid for in about 66 months! And, missing Colts games is not as painful as I thought it would be. My only disappointment is there is no 'aux in' for my Ipod on the computer module. (Note to self, " invent this.") C&J was fast and responsive. From the crew that came out to find the old well, to the crew that moved that enormous rig into my backyard to dig the well. Friendly, informative and fastidious. The owner even applied discounts that normally aren't available. I still can't afford it, but the really great thing about it is I haven't received a bill yet (unless the estimate was the bill). I do remember reading a rare negative view here about someone who didn't pay his bill and claimed he never received one for 6 weeks. I could live with that ;-). So, Josh, if you read this, send most of the bill to the previous owner and/or nevermind...... Or, we could call it a demonstration house for the joys of well drilling. And, tell you what, I'll even leave your sign up.....Whadduyasay....? Update: Fri, 11-11-11 @ exactly 11:11 am, the world didn't end, but I did get my bill.....

I rec'd a call back from George within 15 minutes and since it was 6:45 in the evening he told me we would here from them by 9am. I rec'd a call from Jim at 9:02 sharp and the total expierince was very proffesional from that point on.

Yesterday evening we discovered we were not getting water from our well. I selected C & J Well Drilling after reading their great reviews on Angie's List. They had 24-hour emergency service, but we chose to have them come the first thing this morning. George and Gary arrived on time and quickly determined that we didn't need a new pump, and that it was a simple procedure to replace the control box in our basement. They could have been dishonest and told us that our pump was shot, which would have been quite expensive. Within minutes we had water, and it only cost $259! Now we can take a shower! This price includes the $150 service call, the $133 control box, and $67 for labor. This amounts to $359. However, they told us that they have a 5% off coupon on Angie's List, and they have a $100 off coupon on their website. We chose to use the $100 off coupon, which brought the price down to $259. Both men were knowledgeable, but George seemed to be the leader, and he explained everything very well. Our home is 27 years old, and he told us what signs to watch for that would indicate our water pump was going out. He suggested we have our well cleaned when we complained of rust and a metallic odor coming from our water. He also told us what it would cost to replace our 28-year-old pump if we decided to replace it at the time they were cleaning the well. There would be a $400 discount if we decided to do both jobs at the same time. He discussed the two types of pumps that we could chose from, and the advantages of each. We mentioned that we had low water pressure in the house, and he said that this could partly be due to our very old water softener being clogged from sludge from our well water. He gave us lots to think about, and there was absolutely no pressure from either man to have them do more work. George was just giving us the answers to our many questions. He gave us 30 days to decide if we want them to come back to clean the well and possibly replace our aging pump, and he'd waive the service call fee during this time period. This couldn't be more fair! I also want to mention that they walked outside to look at our well, and while we were talking to George, Gary bent down and worked to connect the cap with the pipe. There had been a gap there ever since we moved here 6 years ago. Now that's fixed, and they didn't charge us extra for it! What great guys! The men were respectful, knowledgeable, and they patiently answered our many questions. They no way implied we should have them do more work. We were very vulnerable when we found ourselves without water, and they could have taken advantage of us, but they chose to be honest. We are extremely pleased with our entire experience with this company! My husband and I are picky people when it comes to people working in and around our home, but they passed our test, and we highly recommend them!

I arrived home at 8:00 PM to find that we had no water coming from the faucets. I phoned C & J at about 8:30 PM, received a very prompt return call and less than 2 hours later, had a technician at my door to check out the problem. Gary assessed the situation, determined that all we needed was a new pressure switch and completed the work quickly. I am very impressed with the professionalism, promptness and attention to detail we received. I'm also very glad that they offer 24 hour emergency service so that we didn't have to wait until tomorrow to have running water. With two special needs family members (and several pets), it would have been difficult to not have access to water until sometime tomorrow! Knowing nothing about this type of repair, a less than reputable service provider could have taken advantage and tried to "upsell", but Gary was very honest in his appraisal of our equipment and gave me what I believe to be a very reasonable price. Especially at this hour of the night! I will definitely use this company again if the need arises.

They did a good job. They were extremely helpful and did a lot of work. It was an enormous project. They were polite, courteous and cleaned up after their work. They gave us 7 days for a replacement upgrade, and this was very courteous for them to give us time to think about it even if we didn't take advantage of it.

Same day service on no water, due to pump going out. The technicians clearly described options (replacing control board for approx. $250 or replacing pump for approx. $2500). They were careful to describe pros and cons of each decision and were patient while I made the impromptu decision. I appreciate their timeliness, professionalism and honesty!

Our water stopped working on the Friday before the 4th of July weekend - we contacted this company leaving a message. Josh called me back promptly asking me what the problem was and when I described the issue he let me know that he was very busy and booked up on an emergency job and since I didn't have water right then and there he recommended me to another well company he works closely with. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to help even though he wasn't available at that specific time. After I contacted other other company (which ended up helping us with our problem), Josh even sent me a text message making sure I had reached them and had gotten the help I needed. This gesture went above and beyond for me and was greatly appreciated. I would recommend Josh and C & J to anyone looking for a reputable well company.

They were good about coming back for issues we had with the well. They made sure it was right. The problem was in the lines of communication.

It went very well. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. They removed their shoes when they came into the house and made sure that the sediment was blown out of the faucets. I appreciated them not leaving a mess for me to clean up! They were on time and finished the job quickly. I was very happy.

They returned my call right away. He said he had the pumps and he could tell me what to do, but they do not do installation. I have started a new search for someone to do the installation and who can answer questions about my current pump.

They are very good to deal with. 2 yrs ago they replaced this pressure tank. This tank had a 1 year warranty and failed after 2 years. They replaced the pressure tank at no charge and repaired the water line for the material cost and service charge. Very good customer service

C&J was originally expecting to drill in our front yard, but local utility restrictions forced us to relocate the wells to under our driveway. C&J was very accommodating as they had to wait for the details of the utility restrictions to be worked out. The drill broke off some tree branches, which fortunately we were willing to lose. The drilling process produces a slurry runoff, which we attempted to contain and route, but which ended up going in unintended directions.

The work only took them about ten minutes so I felt that they were a little expensive for the work they did. My water is not working again but I will not be giving them a call to do the work.

They sent us a bill 6 weeks after the project was done. The very next day after I got the bill they sent me a threating letter stating that if I didn't pay for the bill in full in 2 weeks they were going to put a mechanics lean on the host. We tried to give them post dated checks, of which the salesman agreed to, but they refused to accept those now. They were also going to charge us $500.00 to put a lean on the host as well. They destroyed the garden as well after we told them not to. They drove all over the yard of which we asked them not to do as well.

I called and they came out the next day. They were prompt and quick. They replaced it that day and we didn't have to wait for any parts. I would use them again in the future.

They were punctual. They weren't as gentle with our inside plumbing as we'd hoped they'd be. They were hard workers and they did the job effectively and efficiently.

A couple weeks after the flood in June, our water slowed to a trickle. We found C&J on Angie's List and called on the weekend. The owner apologized, but said if he had to come on Saturday, there'd be an extra charge. We assured him we could get by until Monday. They came out a little later than we expected, but apologized again and said they had gotten tied up on a previous call that morning. When they arrived, they found that the flood had damaged our tank and the pressure switch. They replaced the damaged parts and gave us a 5% Angie's List discount. Their employees were efficient and completed the work to our satisfaction. We have had no problems since their repairs have been completed.

They told me exactly what they were going to do, how they would do it, and how long it would take them. They were very courteous. They finished before they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves. I not only was satisfied with their performance, but they showed up on time and did a great job. They even charged me $75.00 less than on their estimate. This company really went the extra mile.

The two gentlemen went right to work. Jim was very good at keeping me informed as to what was going on and whether any unexpected situations had been encountered. They completed the installation (including monitoring of the new tank cycling on and off and inspection for leaks) in just over one hour. They cleaned up thoroughly and asked me if I had any remaining questions and concerns. As it happened I did some other work in the crawl space and had to call Jim later in the afternoon with a question about the well pressure switch. He was prompt in calling me back and clearly answered my question (which involved part of the well system that he had NOT worked on). I appreciated his willingness to answer my questions on aspects outside of the job he'd completed for me.

We turned on the faucet and had no water. After many plumbing calls the plumber concluded we needed a new well. C & J was able to come out the next day. They had to dig deeper then anticipated-of course you pay by the foot-but they did hit water. They were very polite and cleaned up after themselves. We have a great water supply-even after my husband left the hose on in the backyard for three days!

Their work was excellent. They arrived on time with the parts and took care of it on short notice. We have not had any problems.

They were readily available (same day), called before they came, and made the repair quickly. For the amount of time and effort needed, thought the price was high.

The work was ok, but one time the broke my electrical to my pump and said it was my fault, I had it fixed for free by a friend so I never back charged them.

They worked quickly and efficiently. They discussed with us the need to upgrade the size of the pressure tank because of the demand we have for water for our horses. We went with the upgrade and are very pleased with the results.
