C&J Well Drilling and Pump Co

We had a water leak right by the well on a Sunday so we called and left a message, they came out Monday morning. we were unsure of exactly when they would come out. They estimated it would cost between 700-800 on the phone. i dug the site up and had it dried out so they wouldn't be working in the mud. I had a 8 x5 area for them to work in to replace the pitiless adapter. They charged $50 for digging to take 1 shovel full of dirt that came down while they entered the hole. And $300 labor for 2 guys with one hour of work. I was disappointed in the price and that they really didnt give any price reduction for me digging the hole. They did not fill the hole with dirt they said that was above and beyond the cost estimate. I would not recommend them to a friend. One of their employees called me about 2 weeks after the repair & reading this article to inform me that They would be willing to give me $50 as they may have overcharged. I kindly accepted & moved on. They were nice & responded to me, if I had an emergancy I may contact them in the future.

Team arrived on time and solved my impending doom problem in a timely and professional manner. Explained all options available with attending costs and went above and beyond my expectations. Replaced the pressure tank, hauled off all detritus and cleaned up well.

They came the day I called and were on time. I was not able to be at home but my friend was here and said that the technician explained everything that he did. Oh, and they replaced the well pump in the pouring rain!

I told him I did not want to go a whole day without water, so I was going to call around to see if I could get someone else to come out, and if not, I would call him back and set something up for Monday. When I told him I was going to call around, he said "Oh, I would not do that if I were you!" When I asked him why, he said there are a lot of disreputable companies around and I might get one of them. I found this to be outrageous behavior and highly unprofessional. He was trying to pressure/scare me into using his company. He later suggested that I consult the Better Business Bureau to check out anyone I picked, which I thought was courteous of him. However, after his pressure and scare tactics, I doubt I will ever use C&J for anything in my home. After calling 6 places -- all of which I found on Angie's List -- I did find someone willing (and reputable!) to come out on Sunday and make the repairs.

They were really good. They were responsive and they told me everything that I needed to do. They even helped to instruct me on how to turn off my water. They were very helpful.

Our pump went out on Sunday morning, when we called we were informed that they do not have sunday service, but would be out first thing on Monday morning. They came first thing Monday and had the new pump installed and operating by 11:00. C&J is very good to deal with and very professional. They took the time to make sure the lines were flushed so that we did not get anything but clear water in our home.

They were very nice. They answered all of our questions to the best of their ability.

We were having problems with our water pressure. We saw that there was a leak in the pipe down in the well. Jim from C & J came out. He was so courteous and patient with us. He took the time to explain everything which I greatly appreciated since having a well is new to me. He fixed the pipe and while we had it open we had him pull the pump out and look at it too, it was the original pump from 1979. We decided this was a good time to replace it. He did so much and put up with all the neighbors ( I love them :-)) coming out and asking question. I truly feel like he had our best interest in mind. I dont feel like i was taken advantage of especially since my experienced well neighbors were there and knew what questions to ask. When he left you couldnt even tell he had been there, the yard looked great! The next day I called him and asked him some questions regarding the use of the pressure tank and again he took the time to talk to me and explain what i was looking at on the valve. He never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. Absolutely great customer service! I hope its a long time before i have to call again but if I do need a well specialist it will be C & J.

Everything went perfectly. They arrived when they said they would (sleet and all) and they completed the project without any problems. They were very responsive when we needed something and they did a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend them to someone else.

I was afraid the problem was my old submerged well pump. They came out the same morning I called and diagnosed problem as a bad pressure switch. They had it replaced and I had water within an hour. The people were friendly and knowledgeable and answered my questions. They also told me that the performance of my existing pump seemed to be fine. I expected to pay more than I did, so I was happy with their service and information.

It was fine. I really had no complaints. I got a variable speed pump which cost a bit more, and I knew that I. was ok with the price and fine with the service.

As with so many wells last year, the water line dropped below the level of our pump. They used their usual methods to remove the pump - each one more involved and more expensive. Each day they came back (after allowing the required time for the current method to work), tried to remove the pump, and then walked us through what was going on, what they recommended next and what it would involve and cost. They even gave us advice on how to connect our hose to the neighbor's (with their permission of course!) in order to get water to our house while we waited. Though we had sticker shock from the whole ordeal, they talked us through each step before they did anything, and were very patient to answer all our questions. We appreciated the workmen's knowledge and experience, as well as their patience and friendliness to guide us through the process.

I contacted C & J late on a Friday evening because I had lost water to my home. I was headed out of town early Saturday morning and was worried about having water through the weekend for my dog sitter and my dogs! C & J was able to send someone out that evening to help me assess the problem. Jonathan was very professinal and explained every step he was taking. As it turned out, he was not able to correct the problem with the well and the digging crew would have to return on Monday monring. However, before he left, he was able to restore water service to my house by connecting to my neighbors (I have awesome neighbors!) spicket. The digging crew arrived on Monday as promised and again, the guys were very professional, and endearing. They went right to work, and were able to determine pretty quickly that it would cost me more to repair the well, than to connect to city water. That was the decision I went with. C & J contacted the underground company to do the connection work on my behalf! I was so very happy with everyone's professionalism, and expert, honest advice. I am in the process now of scheduling the work with C & J to abandon my well. I would definitely call C & J again, and I would recommend them in the blink of an eye to anyone who asks!

I contacted this company at 7 PM on 4/17/13 and, even though it was after hours, my call was returned within 30 minutes. I explained the problem that I was having and was told that this was common. I was quoted a price of $800 and told that there was a $100 online coupon that could be applied to this charge. I was told that the work could be done the following day and that I would be contacted before 8:30 AM. Contact was made and workers arrived early on Thursday morning. I was extremely pleased with the work performed by the two employees who came to my home. They completed the work and were very careful of my property. Considering the amount of rain we had received, much less damage was done to my lawn than I had anticipated. The employees also took great care in replacing the soil and cleaning up the work area. I cannot thank these people enough for their extra care and consideration. The only negative I have about this experience is the fact that a service charge of $150 was added to the bill which, for all practical purposes, negated the $100 coupon. I would much rather eliminate the coupons and be quoted and charged the same price. This service charge was not discussed until I received my invoice and, according to the info on the Angie's list display, this charge is to be eliminated it the work is done and exceeds $500.00. Again, I am very happy with the quality, speed , and consideration with which this repair was made. As stated above I am not happy with the way the pricing was determined but I believe this to be a reputable company and would recommend and use them in the future.
