It's been 2 weeks and so far everything has been great. Russ replaced a hard drive on a 2 year-old laptop, and made sure all my files (pictures, music, spreadsheets) were reloaded to the new hard drive. He performed all the work over Super Bowl weekend, and I'm quite pleased with the work he did.

I was having trouble with my home/office wifi signal strength (amongst a couple other things). Russ knew exactly what needed to be done to fix the problems. I had Geek Squad here before and they couldn't help. Russ knows what he's doing. I will use him again with any tech issue.

We contacted Russ to restore a laptop which wouldn't load, and recover all documents and contacts/emails. He communicated in detail by email, phone, and with paper documents. We dropped the laptop off, he gave us written details on what we had discussed to be done, as well as options for more work we had discussed as possibilities. He gave an intended completion time, which was met by Russ, but extended by changes requested by us. He retrieved all documents and info on the hard drive, erased everything, and restored the programs and retrieved info. Everything done was as discussed, the cost was right on target with the estimate, and very reasonable for the work completed. We would absolutely use Russ again for any computer work we need. He was professional.

He went right to work. I had left the old PC running so I could show him the files I needed. He made a list and went right to work. Then we hooked up the new computer and very quickly he showed results. After quite a time tracing and sorting files he discovered that Office Depot had left a number of things in my old PC. We had to hook it up again and download the rest of the info. It took a fair amount of time to download things he didn't figure on.He checked with me often to see what thigs Ineeded and what I didn't. Originally I expressed concern about some important files that were in EXCEL 5 format(7 Years old). Fortunately, he was able to get those in a place where I can run them. I am way beyond pleased. I would happily use him again, if the need arose. He also showed me several tricks to use and some ways to save on program costs.

As usual, everything went very well. Russ was able to install the printer and hook it in to my home network allowing my Windows desktop and Apple Ipad and Macbook Pro to all print documents wirelessly. Russ also set my Ipad up for Email viewing.

Excellent, on time and complete as requested.

Russ set up the wirelss router with ease. He deleted everything from our system that Comcast had me do and then updated the router's firmware from Cisco's website and set all the proper parameters for it to work. We then confirmed it worked properly with our two smartphones and ipads. Everything worked flawlessly and immediately. The slow PC was another story. After a lot of software based utilities and clean up work, the PC did run much better. Russ checked everything possible, backed up the system, and defragmented it as well. All was working well until it slowed down again in the next day or two. Russ remotely tapped into the PC to see what was happening. After a lot of work and effort on his part, it seems the viruses were too deeply embeded in the system, so everything on the PC has to be wiped out clean and the operating system needs to be reloaded. We will need to have Russ come over and do that very soon. Since my wife works from home, good thing we have two PC's. This is our second time using Russ at RD Cutting Edge Tech Solutions, and could not ask for better service and results. He is defintely at the top of my list on technical support and service.

04/16/12: Russ Pickup the lap top it was non booting into WindowsCompaq Presari F7000 Laptop (Win Vista Home Prem32 bit). We told Russ that the laptop no longer will boot up and gives repair Windows screen constantly. At his Russ's home office, he ran various attempts to fix Windows but it could not be done. When connected, hard drive to other computer the file system is all corrrupt. Russ, reviewed with us about trying to recover user files but we told him we just want the Laptop restored to the 2/1/11Macrium Image he made to the backup USB drive (we had no newer backups). He then Recovered the laptop to exactly how it was on 2/1/11 and the laptop again worked fine. Russ did Win updates for all new updates (there were a lot),Updated Java, Adobe Reader, and ran full tuneup withTuneup Utilities 2012 (free for 15 day version - then I can put in my product key) and the laptop now is running very good. He did an update of AVG also to latest programversion and virus definitions. NO ADDITIONALCHARGE FOR EXTRA TUNEUP and Updates (an additonal $125 value).On 4/19/12 Russ dropped off the repaired laptop at our house and went over the repair info with me.Russ also, installed and gave me, step by step instructions on how to use the Macrium Reflect Back up and Restore (free).I am completely satisfied with Russ! He is very patient and efficient! I'm sure we will be using RD Cutting Edge for all our computer needs!!!!

The fact that Russ could diagnose and solve my computer problem without an onsite visit saved a great deal of time. We have used his services several times in the past and are always more than satisfied with the results. Not only does Russ correct any problems, but he goes out of his way to educate us on how to work more effectively.

As with all computer repairs it takes time to figure out what is wrong. He worked steadly on trying to learn what my custom built computer had in it as to find what may be wrong with it. He download programs and did research on internet looking for fixes and help. He was very good at telling me where he was at in this work and keeping me informed on his fees and weather I wanted him to continue on. He was very knowledgeable and talked small talk but kept working while talking. Some of the fixes he knew exactly what needed to be done and did it. I have had much computer repairs done over the years both at home and at the office. I have used individuals and IT Companies. He worked as well as any and was very fair with his price. He did all he could in the amount of time we decided on. Some work was left undone but that was due to my decision to stop at the point we did. I fully feel that I got 'my moneys worth'. He was aware of the time it was taking him to fix my machine and conscience of not building up a "surprise bill". I think that was very wonderful of him to do, not just bury me with some gigantic bill at the end. Being considerate of the customer I think is a real plus. Most places just start a timer when they leave their office and turn it off when they are packed up to leave and never take into consideration the shock of their bill on the customer. I give him a 10+ for that! I know computers are not a fix it quick repair, but I think he did a really fine job for the time he spent and the money he charged. He fixed the most important problems first and left secondary problems for after. That was also a plus. All in all I will not think twice about using him again. He was well worth his fee.

Contacted Russ for an estimate to setup a new desktop computer and move the old desktop to the kids playroom. He asked that I send him an email with the exact work that needed to be done. I did so and he called back with an estimate and a date that fit both of our schedules. Russ did outstanding work. He was very easy to work with. Price was reasonable. Quality of work was excellent and he provided a number of extra tips to make the experience an exceptional one. I recommend him and will utilize him to resolve any of my future computer issues.

Russ was the consummate professional. He was fair, honest, hardworking, and very knowledgeable. When there were problems encountered (outside of his control), he would spend significant amounts of his own time to try to get to the bottom of them (without charging me) and resolve the problems. He was very customer-focused and wanted to ensure that, at the end of the day, we were happy. He truly went above and beyond and I would have no hesitation recommending him (I've already passed his contact details to a couple of friends). I would also have no hesitation in working with him again for our future computing needs.

Russ understood my problems immediately. He spoke in terms I'd understand. Pleasant, friendly, very nice place of business.

Russ was prompt and very helpful. Russ quickly found the problem with the router, it was unplugged. Russ took the computer outside and cleaned it by blowing air to remove the build up of dust. Russ also updated several sofrware applications by updating them to the current generation. Overall Russ is an excellent technician and doesn't hesitate making recommendations he feels will help performance

I called Russ and I dropped off laptop for him to fix. I had a multitude of problems. I picked it up in two days. Russ has lots of communication with you re: problems. he also has many ideas and approaches to fix the problem. I appreciated that. The laptop works like a dream!

The story above sums up our experience with RD Cutting Edge. Our new computer works super fast and now we have HD on our monitor. We would not hesitate to recommend Russ.

I was having "blue screen" crashes. I thought about using one of those on-line services, but went with Russ. Good thing too. The problem was not with viruses but with a defective circuit board. Russ removed the defective board (it was for dial-up modem - who uses that anymore?) He reloaded all my software and downloaded some (legally) free software and set me up with skype. He also loaded some trial software (including some to keep my computer clean) which I could purchase later if I found useful. I did not have him recover my files, which would have been an extra cost, since my important files I had saved to disk. Importantly, he gave me full written instructions on what he had done and what I could do with the new software. He also made himself available to answer any questions I might come up with later. The most important part of this was having a live, knowledgeable, hands-on person who I could talk to face-to-face an who did not just tell me things but put them in writing so I could refer to them later.

Russ's service was prompt and as promised. The computers he worked on are now all working fine.

It went very well. He solved the technical issues promptly and was patient with my questions. A computer lifesaver!
