About us

The company was established in 1972 as P&J Heating and Air Conditioning by Pete and Jim. In the late 1980's, Air Wise and Best Heating (established in 1948) joined the family and American Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning was formed. The year 2003 is here and American Comfort joins a national franchise to offer clients a higher level of service. One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is here for the residential customers while maintaining the American Comfort name for the Commercial side of the business. It may seem like a lot of change, but, it was all done under one of the original owners. To this day, we are still family owned and operated.

Description of Work: The boiler was cleaned per the deal on Angie's list. A few weeks later another visit was made to install a digital portable thermostat. The same technician came for both. He was pleasant, explained what he had done, and showed me how to set the programmable thermostat. He informed me of their yearly plan and its cost which I purchased. However, the cost of the thermostat and installation I felt were excessive based on my research of the cost of the thermostat and the receiver. Approximately $200.00 for both. Yet the installation was $682.00.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback.. Yes, it true, you can find a lot of items online at a lesser cost, but lets not forget that we had to do some research because the one you originally wanted, we could not configure. We had to have someone order and pick up the parts, then a technician drive to your home who spent a couple hours hooking the thermostat, testing the equipment, up and going over everything with you. Last but not least, we are even going to warranty the item for 1 year of the installation.

He did a great job!
Description of Work: He performed an inspection of my 4 year furnace. He told me that keeping the furnace clean is crucial in the new furnaces and that can be a major expense. Told me that I should have it professionally cleaned once a year. He also tried to sell me on the maintaince program and all that it offered. It was a good plan; but I was not in a financial position to take advantage of that deal.

Description of Work: They were here on time. They called the day before to confirm. They checked my furnace in the basement and the air conditioning unit outside. The gentleman was friendly and told me what needed to be done. I told him my husband would do it and that was no problem. Will definitely use again
