About us

The company was established in 1972 as P&J Heating and Air Conditioning by Pete and Jim. In the late 1980's, Air Wise and Best Heating (established in 1948) joined the family and American Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning was formed. The year 2003 is here and American Comfort joins a national franchise to offer clients a higher level of service. One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is here for the residential customers while maintaining the American Comfort name for the Commercial side of the business. It may seem like a lot of change, but, it was all done under one of the original owners. To this day, we are still family owned and operated.

Description of Work: Added two pounds of charge (R-22). Cost was More than quoted in house. I was to it would cost a little under $200 to charge system $109 plus $79 and angies list coupon ($53). They added an additional $109 at time to pay bill.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your service call. On our 1st visit to your home, we were scheduled to do a tune up and were unable to gain access to the unit on the roof. We did what we could on the indoor unit and discovered there was cooling issues due to the frozen evaporator coil. Since we did not have access to the roof, we could not finish the job and had to schedule a return trip. Looking at the notes from the 1st technician, it seems as though he did cover the charges with you. Someone from the office will be giving you a call to go over everything.

Description of Work: I bought the Angie's List deal for A/C tuneup, but had been having issues with my thermostat. When the technician came, he replaced the wires to the thermostat, did the A/C tuneup, and installed an air cleaning system that has already made a noticeable difference in the home air quality in the couple of days I've had it. The technician was friendly and much more knowledgeable than the previous HVAC company I had been dealing with.

Description of Work: My air conditioning is working, but making noise that is not usual. I wanted them to come out, do an inspection and tune up, and tell me what's wrong. Thus, I bought this voucher. When I called to setup the appointment, they told me that this voucher is only if air conditioning is working and just a tune up. The next appointment is 1 month away. I told them I want them to tune up and take a look at the sound. If so, they said, it's a repair and I cannot use this voucher. I had to pay $109 for the repair service call and pay for repair. Thus, I need a refund for this voucher that I have no use for. I thought inspection would lead to repair, but this company says they send out two different kinds of crew... one for tune up, and one for repair... thus my situation does not work. I really don't understand this, but that's what they said. So, please refund this voucher for me. Thanks.

The scheduled tune ups do tend to have at least a two week backlog only due to the fact we cannot predict the weather and need to keep everyone busy. When the weather does come along, we do reserve openings to make sure we can take care of everyone in need. By the looks of the call, it does look like you utilized our "Free Service Call" (with repairs) so you did save $109 on service call and also looks like they did complete the tune up. Someone from the office will be giving you a call to discuss.
